Chilly excellenet acting
21 January 2024
The acting was excellent, even by the kid. I was very creeped out and the atmosphere was pretty on the spot, isolating, cold. Last half does feel weirdly rushed but it was fine, little too blah for really no reason but fine. Stellar psychological horror tho. I found it quite refreshing.

I had quite a few things to complain about but for me if i enjoyed majority of it and it managed to feel like an actual horror movie i am pretty pleased. It had some great jumpcares too. The kid is adorable. The movie has its horror in child abuse and the three leads just nailed it. So ya definitely rec it for anyone who likes horror bcz its hard to come by great acting and great atmosphere. The end isn't much of a rec but its definitely not bad its just something that needs to happen and there is a weird cut.

If you like psychos/xual corruption stories
6 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Its gross and sick and that's a plus folks. A bit too artsy and really confusing in the start but absolutely perfect for the theme of corruption.

Why does my review need to be 600 words idk.

Well i guess its relevant if you have seen the show supernatural and a particular Sam/Ruby dynamics ya that's this and its perfect for people who like dark stories. So maybe its not your cup of tea. 210 words still remain. Istg this was not required before maybe its an app thing. S2.05 Stargate sg1 ep 'Need' also psychosexual addiction corruption. Thoigh the film is not too addiction relevant. Well you'll sick.

9 February 2022
Okay as like a serious horror movie it def has its elements in the start, the writing and set up strikes as cheap and you know bad at some times but it has its good parts definitely and them we enter pure camp dear lord i was laughing at THAT scene the whole time and it was EPIC.

Liked the end, that's about it
6 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The tone, not a fan, the Billy is stpid enough to get knicked just bad but whatever, its a tough genre to write for when the beings are so powerful, Jack comes back powerless yawn. Don't care at all for the extras. Really Eilleen gets killed again and is in hell now? Show has been clear enough that Castiel loves Dean so its not some shock but them letting him verbalise is. I mean did it really make him finally happy? I guess in the moment and that was enough. I liked how it caused the empty to be summoned and take death.

I loved the empty and Sam's interaction, Amara and Chuck were good too. Actually invested in the plot now that Chuck is being played how he should as invincible.

The atmosphere was nice, it was a bit creepy, the start was good but the lead up was disappointing and so was the kill.

nerfing but fun
13 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Homelander was potrayed beautifully in the though i would have liked some realistic reactions from someone who has not shown signs of complete deepend racism to what Stormfront was saying. The boys actually get a win, feels good. Shocking reveal at the end and i want to know how it comes into play in the next season. Nerfed Stormfront and that unrealistic car crash survival. As always the day is saved by blackmail. Now this is probably a me problem, i watch this show at 1.5 speed, sometimes even faster...its really slow and boring to me mostly but its extremely smart with shocking moments. S2- 7.5/10 Oh and that Impala runnung Stormfront over lmao.

Adorable moments, some of it didn't fit...it really shouldn't have been that easy to weaken Jack and Sam and Dean should have cared whether the vamps were killing humans.

Drama and coolness
2 October 2020
Had some very cool scenes, story moves forward by a tiny bit, some of the drama is just feeling really stretched out.

the test center
25 September 2020
Thouroughly entertaining and cool episode. Starlight and Butcher's dynamic explored, Homelander and Stormfront's too, some big reveals and the stuff goes down at the test facility. Frenchie in the spotlight. Do feel the show being a little too edgy for the sake of it at times though.

Supes filming and the boys bonding
18 September 2020
I don't think i have ever seen a show use blackmail as a solution as much this one does...i just want something to go down without it being this easy. The episode tries to show as a stronger bond forming between the boys and its fine i suppose. The set for the supes was pretty fun and good social commentary. Has some funny moments too.

We get some cute Starlight and Hughie moments. Highlander is unraveling. Pretty much everyone gets some focus really and again nothing much changes in the end.

Confrontations
9 September 2020
Quite a lot happens, the terrorist brother is wantes by the supes for their agenda and the boys want to turn him in for theirs. Unfortunate events happen. But the end result of which is really not too different than when we were before. The boys and the female hate the supes more is basically it.

Character focused and slow
9 September 2020
Not much happens. Has too many characters with stories that just don't matter to the plot. Qveen Maeve especially. The Deep's part was weird but not in a good way. This show has way too much blackmailing as a solution, doesn't even quite work in this instance.

Gems among slow moving drama
9 September 2020
I wasn't a big fan of the hughie and starlight drama or the boys focused drama in season 1 and it remains. Ep has many highlights from two new supers shown in a hilarious way, Homelander losing it, and clever writing.

A drama with barely some action and a great villain
20 August 2020
I like the realism, the concept, but there is way too much talking and not actual action. It's mainly a drama. I didn't care much for the romance either, a tad too boring. The main two conflicts of our two protagonists are okay. The main villain is brilliant. It has some comic moments but not really great comedy as a whole. I would say there are some very shocking and original scenes, some hilarious, some outrageous. It's not really that dark of an atmosphere. Has highs but i thought most of it was just okay. I also really thought the badassery was missing from the boys and we just don't see enough of it from the supes.

Highlander is the highlight
20 August 2020
The main story of Butcher goes through a reveal. We get a pretty big secret unloaded but its well not that hard hitting for me. Starlight has to figure out her journey... I just everytime i see her i feel like i'm watching a teen movie and i like teen movies... I just don't find it too interesting or so. The A-train confrontation happens. We really don't have much action in the series which is a shame. We have two action scenes. One is just eh, the other one is cool.

Doesn't feel badass enough
20 August 2020
I felt like the boys just don't have the dynamic and badassery they should have at this point. The whole thing blows up in a stupid manner. The Gill scene is disturbing but well new i suppose. The thing in the middle with Annie is just slowly building up.

Heavy on the drama and somewhat pointless
20 August 2020
Seems like a huge risk was taken and it went as expected. I just find Starlight and Hughie's romance a tad boring. We get backstory. We get a moral issuenof supers vs normies.

Slow paced and too much drama
20 August 2020
I know this is a drama so this is perhaps my bias, i just don't like it too much, i liked A-Train's part, had some hilarious scenes by Homelander and Hughie. The whole coming to your own acceptance felt a tad out of a teenage movie. The female and Frenchie storyline was good. And we see a reveal about supers.

Dolphins, small epic fight scene and that plane
20 August 2020
Stellar. I was thoroughly entertained. I would really like to see more action. I think that's what i have been missing. It's a lot of talking. The psychotic nature of the lead superhero is unfolding. We get to know more about Frenchie. I think Starlight is a bit boring to me but i do appreciate that there is someone normal in the series.

20 August 2020
We get more insight into the corporation and into the superheroes. Some truths about them are surfacing. Has one really gruesome scene. Yup that was shocking. I still feel like the dialogue isn't i guess the smoothest. I found the funny scenes not that funny.

Politics and the boys get messy
19 August 2020
I enjoyed the boys part quite a lot, Translucent was pretty great, i personally find the whole politics talk boring generally but that's a personal thing, the show is definitely geared towards the whole political, social take of superheroes. Lots of talking, not what i love. All the hero guys in this show are pervs...ok. Honestly i don't get the whole, this show is outlandishly gory or dirty as of now. Maybe its just a direct comparison of Marvel because on its own its really not that crazy, sure its crazy, but i suppose the problem for me is how much the cast and reviewers amped it up, i guess the perversion is what the fuss is about. Maybe that's just my taste, i have only been watching horror movies and dexter and supernatural and some action movies for this past 1 year. I think the darkest journey here is Hughie's and the moral dilemma he has.
