F9 (2021)
Bad plots are like family
I really enjoyed the other FF movies in the series, but this was too much to swallow. They "nuked the fridge" so many times I lost count. That being said, I was still entertained, especially by Charlize Theron having a bowl cut.
A Quiet Place Part II (2020)
A Boring Place
I was bored. It felt like paint by numbers story writing.
Also, Emily Blunt's hair was perfect in every scene. I'm sure her vanity contractually precluded her from looking like a savage, but if some method actors are gaining and losing extreme amounts of weight for roles, couldn't she at least rub some Kentucky Fried Chicken on her hair to make it believable? Not impressed
I couldn't wait for it to be over, but I did. Don't do the same.
In the Dark of the Valley (2021)
Powerful film
This was a very informative and powerful documentary. These situations are far too common. It's sad how many people in this world can turn a blind eye, even when presented with the truth. Unfortunately, I've found that most government workers from the ground up are lazy and incompetent. There must be something in their water.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
I wish I never saw this
As I watched this movie, I kept making wishes of my own. I started out with, "I wish this was over." When that didn't work, I tried "I wish this movie was never made." The movie kept going, so I thought " I wish I was dead." That didn't work either, so I tried " I wish I was never born."
Finally I gave up and watched until the movie ended on its own. Like the 80s, it was a bucket of stale chips covered with a hot blast of cheese.
Also, the Kristin Wiig character looks like a reject from the musical Cats near the end. I'm surprised they didn't have her sing a musical number like "Memories" during the fight scene at the end.
I had no idea it was going to be so awful, but apparently I'm not the only one who felt that way.
A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019)
Major disappointment
If Mr Rogers was reviewing this movie he would have said "Good job! You really tried to do your best!"
Since I'm not Mr Rogers, my review will be far less kind.
I really wanted this movie to be great. I was looking forward to it and since I like Mr Rogers and Tom Hanks I thought it would be a winner.
From the very beginning, I found myself cringing at the acting of the main character as well as the awful dialogue. Much of the movie felt like a cross between an ABC Afterschool Special, a made for TV movie, and a low budget Christian movie. I'm not sure what inspired the script or the directing, it it was definitely not my cup of tea.
I could go on and on, but I'm sure Mr Rogers would think I've said quite enough already. On the bright side, I'm glad I saw it as I really enjoy Mr Rogers and his life story.
McMillions (2020)
Good story- but slow
This was a fascinating story, but it was a little on the slow side. It almost felt as if someone said, "Hey, can you make it a little bit longer so we can fill up 6 episodes"?
Paul Westerberg: Come Feel Me Tremble (2003)
They forgot to hire an editor
I'm a big Paul Westerberg fan, but I'm also a film fan. A good film needs a good editor. This film feels like a bunch of raw footage that someone found on the cutting room floor.
