Wonder Woman (2017)
9/10
A triumph for DC
20 July 2017
I was never really interested in DC movies, (except for Tim Burtons Batman), so I was skeptical about Wonder Woman. I was genuinely shocked at how good this movie was! The acting is good, it has good humor, the action is exciting, and the plot is really entertaining. Granted, it is no Guardians of The Galaxy, but it was still pretty awesome. Personally, I wished to see more mythology on the Greek gods and Princess Diana in this film, but the WWI parts are still interesting. The costumes were historically correct, and the music fit perfectly. Plus, the villains were pretty wicked. The film also had a great message about good and evil as well. I hope to see more Wonder Woman films in the future, and hopefully there will be more lore as well. I honestly can't see why there would be hate on this. Ah well, I guess a movie about a badass Amazon princess trying to stop World War I by killing a Greek god isn't for everyone. I recommend this movie to fans of superhero, war, and action movies. Adventure Time (2010โ€“2018)
8/10
Alice in Wonderland meets Dungeons and Dragons
20 July 2017
Adventure Time is, and always will be, a masterpiece. This show has the perfect blend of sci-fi and fantasy with a magical wonderland set in a post-apocalyptic world. Nothing is always as it seems in the whimsical land of Ooo, and there are many mysteries to be solved. I will admit, the show is very strange, and some episodes are creepy. However, the shows strangeness and slight creepiness reminds me of the original Grim fairy tales. Every character has their own backstory, so don't judge a book by its cover. The show also has a kinda warped sense of humor, but it's still funny. Sadly, the show is ending soon, but don't worry! Adventure Time is sure to live on in other forms of entertainment such as comics, video games, and maybe even in other shows. If you are new to the show, you have plenty of seasons to keep you occupied. This show is definitely worth checking out, but I will advise you that it may creep out younger children. I recommend Adventure Time to fans of Gravity Falls, Bravest Warriors, and Over The Garden Wall (vise versa if you are an AT fan looking for something new to watch). Steven Universe (2013โ€“2019)
8/10
The perfect sci-fi fairy tale
19 July 2017
Steven Universe is by far one of Cartoon Networks best triumphs. I do like the show, but it does have a few elements that are quite annoying. If I had to sum up SU in four words they would be odd, musical, emotional, and intriguing. There are a few parts of SU I like, while others...not so much. I love the plot of the show. I won't spoil anything, but I will say that it is very interesting and mysterious. I also love the whole concept with the gems. I know there may be controversy on whether the show is lesbian or not, but here's how I view it. Technically, the gems bodies are illusions, as was stated in the show, so they are gender less. If you think about it, they can't be gay OR straight if they don't have a sex. They aren't even beings that reproduce sexually or asexually. All of them are referred to as "shes", but I think of the more masculine gems as "hes". So there. No more controversy :). One thing that annoys me about SU is that it is SO EMOTIONAL. I can not think of ONE episode where no one cries or gets into a huge argument in the first few seasons. Seriously, it seems to me that all of the characters are pmsing bad. Another thing is the songs. Don't get me wrong, I do love some of the songs, but they overkill with singing in this series. It's even worse than Disney. Frankly, it gets annoying. Thankfully, these issues do fade in newer seasons, but let me tell you, the first season is rough. I'm glad this show has such a great plot and interesting characters because otherwise I probably would have ditched it long ago. In later seasons, the emotions are toned down, the music gets less annoying, the animation gets better, and the plot is more prominent. If you are wanting to check out SU, I would suggest you power through season one and get to the better seasons before you judge. Overall, SU is like a sci-fi Disney fairy tale. I would suggest this show to fans of Star vs The Forces of Evil, Adventure Time, and Disney movies. This title gets a thumbs up from CriticalBunniez ๐Ÿ‘

Mighty Magiswords (2015โ€“2018)
6/10
Good potential
19 July 2017
Mighty Magiswords is a filler show at best, but it does have good potential. The concept itself sounds entertaining; Two siblings become "warriors for hire" and go on adventures while collecting magical swords called, you guessed it, magiswords. However, the show has a few flaws. If you are looking to watch this, I have a bit of advice. You really need to go with the flow while watching MM for reasons I will explain in the rest of this review. Don't overthink it and just enjoy it for what it is.

First, the show is way too fast paced! I think it is cool how the show is written and designed like a comic, but the episodes seem rushed. Perhaps if they slowed it down a little bit, the comic effect would actually take place instead of a clustered mess. I also think that not only is it too fast, but it's too short as well. I love the comic book like style, but it's just a bit too quick for me. It seems to be so rushed and short that you will forget the episode in only 10 minutes.

I love how vibrant and over dramatic some of the characters are, but honestly they were annoying at first. I think the characters would be much more memorable if they had some character development or backstories in the show. Some of the episodes were kind of lame because the characters and the world didn't seem to be properly introduced, and it was hard to get into it. Maybe I need to watch the Webisodes to understand the world and characters more? I like how Mighty Magiswords goes against the status quo by not having a huge plot or character development, but I fear that it may not prosper without them either. I'm not saying it should go all out drama, but just a tad bit of depth for the characters would be nice.

In conclusion, Mighty Magiswords is a bit too rushed, too short, and too simple for me. I do like to watch it, and it is a nice change from TTG. The show just isn't binge worthy you know. I would suggest this show to young kids. This title gets a thumbs up and down from CriticalBunniez ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘Ž

Gravity Falls (2012โ€“2016)
10/10
Way too awesome to die so young :(
19 July 2017
Let me begin by saying, yes I realize that I am reviewing this a little late, but this show is far too great to not review. This show is the perfect blend of fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, comedy, AND drama. Surely no matter what genre you like best, you will enjoy what Gravity Falls has to offer. Though it is a cartoon, GF has the type of humor that people of all ages can enjoy. Some jokes are directed towards adults and will probably go over little kids heads. I would name the type of humor in GF, but there are so many different types within it that I can't name just one! The plot is very unique and intriguing, with lots of lore, mystery, and character development. Even the stand alone episodes are very entertaining, and they may hide clues to what will happen next. However, I will warn that it isn't wise to jump into any episode if you are planning to check it out. You MUST start at the first episode because it would be very confusing otherwise. Each character has their own realistic personality that isn't totally generic. They all have their own depths and struggles, and they are each uniquely hilarious! Plus, the characters face real life situations such as growing up, facing reality, etc. My only complaint about GF is that it ended WAY too soon. I understand why Alex Hirsch didn't want the show to have a lot of seasons, but only two is far too short. The minimum should have been at least three or four seasons. Besides, if it had gone on for a bit longer, Gravity Falls may not have gotten as much cringe worthy fan fiction (no offense to those who enjoy it). I just hope it comes back somehow other than fan fiction, whether it's a game, comic, or crossover with another TV show (I'm looking at you, Star vs The Forces of Evil writers). Whether they are punching unicorns, befriending minotaurs, battling dream demons, or dating a Spanish merman, the Pines twins will keep you watching the curious world of Gravity Falls. I highly recommend Gravity Falls to everyone especially if you like shows such as Star vs The Forces of Evil, Over The Garden Wall, Adventure Time, or Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated (also vice versa if you are a GF fan looking for something new to watch). This title gets a HUGE thumbs up from CriticalBunniez ๐Ÿ‘

Teen Titans Go! (2013โ€“ )
5/10
50/50
18 July 2017
Obviously, Teen Titans Go has very split reviews. Some LOVE IT, while others ABSOLUTELY LOATHE IT. Those reviews aren't always reliable, so I'm going to tell you the good AND bad parts of TTG.

First, the good. It has what I like to call, anti-moral humor. Basically, that means they show bad morals and behaviors on purpose, to make fun of other shows that have good morals and behaviors (which is what I love about it). I do like how they even address how much people hate TTG and how they make fun of the original TT in some episodes. This shows how much TTG writers DGAF. They also make many 80s and 90s pop culture references/parodies in some episodes such as "40%,40%,20%", one of my personal favorites. These types of humor and references are funny to me and I think parents and teens will get a kick out of them as well. However, this cartoon may be best for older kids because younger children may pick up on the bad behavior, and they may not understand most of the 80s and 90s references (unless you raise them right!).

Now for the bad. I will admit some of the episodes are pretty boring or kind of irritating. TTG doesn't have a plot to it, so sometimes it can get pretty dull. I hate the episodes where they try too hard to make drama or romance. I would like this element of the show much better if they made fun of drama and romance instead of actually being serious about it, (soap opera parody anyone?). They just need to accept that it isn't their thing, and it's not entertaining. I am also not a huge fan of the potty humor or the very rare good morals that appear in some episodes. It just isn't funny, and it's boring to me. Personally, I think TTG would be a lot better if they got rid of all of these boring and annoying parts of the show.

Lastly, I don't love or hate TTG, but I think we can all agree that it plays WAY TOO MUCH on CN. I feel that it would be much more likable if it didn't play 24/7. This title gets a thumbs up and down from CriticalBunniez ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘Ž

Rabbids Invasion (2013โ€“2019)
7/10
Not what I expected, but not bad either
6 July 2017
I was a big fan of the Raving Rabbids games when I was little,so when I heard they were getting their own show I had to check it out. I kind of expected for there to be a story line similar to the first few games, (what I could remember of them anyway), where they are evil and are terrorizing mankind. However, it is more of a fun slapstick cartoon, and the rabbids are much nicer and dumber than I remember them being in the games. The violence is also way more tame. I love how the show can tell a story without words, and you can understand what the rabbids are saying through their situation and body language. I find it hilarious how the rabbids cause chaos by just being stupid. If you are looking to watch RI be prepared for a lot of fart jokes, slapstick, and mayhem. If you are a parent who is concerned about the educational value of the rabbids, this show is NOT meant to be educational, and NOT EVERY CARTOON SHOULD BE. There is also some adult humor in it, but it's very subtle (I could have swore I heard one of the rabbids say f@!# in one of the episodes ๐Ÿ˜‚). This show doesn't have a big, mystery filled plot, but the humor makes up for it. The only thing that annoys me is how they overuse the locations and characters. I really liked season 1 with the scientists, season 2 was good too, and season 3 was OK. I hope this show doesn't get canceled so that they may make an episode that gives the rabbids a proper backstory so we can see where they REALLY come from if the show is even canon (those who played the games will understand). Overall "Rabbids Invasion" is a pretty good show. I would suggest this show to fans of the games and cartoon violence. This title gets a thumbs up from CriticalBunniez ๐Ÿ‘

Star vs. the Forces of Evil (2012โ€“2019)
10/10
Don't judge a book by its cover!
6 July 2017
At a first glance, this show may look like an annoying little kids show, but don't be fooled. This is by far one of the best shows Disney has made, and I hope to see more of it in the future. I love how every character has depth and multiple sides to them you didn't know they had. Even Star has a rebel warrior side to her, and you may feel bad for the antagonists as well. The plot may seem dull and simple at first, but then it blossoms into a world of lore and mystery. Even in its simpler times, the show is still very entertaining. Some episodes will be filled with fun, adventure, and monster butt kicking, while other episodes will be filled with emotion, lore, and a glimpse at the lives of other characters. Plus, this show is very funny, greatly animated, and just plain fun to watch. Some elements of the show remind me of other shows, books, video games, and comics I enjoy. This is a must watch series especially if you like shows such as Gravity Falls or Adventure Time. This title gets a big thumbs up from CriticalBunniez๐Ÿ‘
