Very surprising watch the second and third before you judge
2 February 2024
I started watching this because I am a huge fan. I was a huge fan of just another gorgeous body. I watched thinking oh maybe I will get to see a great behind, as we know Jason loves to show us his body. And yes, I got to see the world famous arse. But I stopped watching the show because of a gorgeous body and started watching the show because of a gorgeous mind.

I was shocked to see such a depth of emotion in the show that I was not expecting. It's not so much in the first show, that's to me a typical guy being a guy show. I was shook watching the second show. Watching J, not Jason, J come to life and show his joy of life and art was amazing. And the shows became more about his friends and then the third show showcased his friends completely and gave details of their lives and J was just a commentator. And each show goes on like that.

Listening to the stories of his family of friends was brilliant. These are blue color workers, long haired, tattooed, cursing men who the general public would normally ignore and he gave them voices. He didn't focus his show on himself, he focused on the people behind him and brought them to the front.

The things we do learn about J himself are also amazing. I never thought I would have so much in common with an A lister. When he described loving old beat up things and seeing the patina and beauty in age. Ugh. I felt that. I'm the type of person that can fall in love with a pair of old cracked glasses from my great grandmother. To see him smile at the beauty of light shining on an old chair was cool.

I wish I could personally thank him for the show. This review will have to do it for me. I can't wait for season two. Good job J. Damned good job man.

Definitely the best looking vampire ever
1 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The movie is not the best. But I will be watching it again just for Thomas. He is enchanting. The premise of the movie is good but at times it seems very rushed. So rushed that it goes from feeling like a professional movie to a movie made by a college production. It was such a good movie up until the reveal and then it gets cheesy very fast.

I think it would have been better as either a longer movie or even a two part movie.

The setting is gorgeous. It would again have been better if not rushed and could have spent more time on developing the set itself. The backstory was good and made sense but the ending with the main character and her friend did not make sense whatsoever. I still don't understand it.

Twist after twist after twist
27 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely love this show. It is like the writers walked into the room and said give me the most amazing shocking storyline you can think of, ok, that's for character one, now give me another for the next character. Everyone gets a twist now come up with another one for every other episode.

Annalise is such a good character. She is bitchy and evil but loving and fun. I wish she was real because she would make the perfect best friend. Frank is so sexy and adorable and you forget he's a killer. Asher is just annoying but he's supposed to be. There's nobody other than Sam that is not amazing.

I am currently on Season Two and I have four more seasons left. I can't fathom what other twists and in store.

I absolutely loved this!!
25 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
First let me say how much Kate Hudson reminds me of her mother. This could have been the movie Goldie stared in directly after Overboard. She has her mother's sense of comedic charm as well.

Daniel Craig I thought in the original Knives had overplayed the Southern accent but now that he's out in the movie, the melodramatic southern tone actually works.

The pace of the movie is just fast enough and I love the twist in the middle. It makes me want to rewatch so I can see if I can catch the reveal.

I normally don't care for Ed Norton but I even enjoyed watching him in this, especially the end. He plays crazy face well.

And I loved that we never found out who the random guy was that kept showing up at the weirdest times.

Unforgivable
21 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I began reading this series in high school in the 90s. I have read each book over and over again with each release in the next part of the series. I have read every single book that had anything to do with the world of the series. I was so looking forward to seeing the series come to life. I couldn't wait to meet Odetta/Detta/Susannah, Eddie, Jake and OY. I looked forward to watching as each gunslinger learned from Roland about Ka and Roland learned from Eddie about Ka Ka. I wanted to see old friends from other stories I wanted to see Rolands past, his friends and first love. I wanted to see Oy click his little red heels together. I wanted to hear Velcro Fly and a talking train. I wanted to see the ultimate villain of all villains and the child of a crazy woman, a haunted man and a demon. I wanted to see the Dixie Pig and a robot named Bill and a tiger in a cage.

And some idiot decided to take years of my imagination, pieces of my life, my favorite memories of a series of books and condense them into a single movie? Some of those books could have been multiple movies themselves. At least each book would have made a multiple episode series with a book per season or even multiple seasons.

I swear if they mess up The Talisman like this I will never watch any Stephen King movie again. This truly hurt my heart.

It was a good story but
5 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The movie started out great. I loved the back story. But the whole bit with Cher at the end was unnecessary. I love Cher. She's one of my favorite singers. I karaoke her. But I absolutely hated her in this movie. She was rude and egotistical and she had nothing to do with her daughter and told her she couldn't come home when she found out she was pregnant. But lo and behold she sees her long lost love and all is forgiven?? No... that's not how real life works and it would have been so much better if they would have told her off. Seriously it felt like she was just brought in for a token song and then to be a feature on the group song at the end. A movie starring Cher but you don't even see her until the last twenty minutes.

The rest of the movie would have gotten a rating of 9. It was that good. Please don't put Cher in if they do a part 3.

A kid's movie that made a 46 year old woman cry
2 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I admit I watched the movie because I love Jason Mamoa. I had never heard of the story before. Now, I wish I could go back in time twenty five years and tell my daughter about Nemo's adventures.

The concept of being able to create your own dreams is something everyone dreams about. Nemo loosing her father, having to leave her home and go live with a stranger is a nightmare for a child. To have a wish granted to bring back her dad every night while she sleeps, that's golden.

It also shows how someone who has lost their dreams can become a lifeless shell. Jason as Flip was so much fun. I loved the growl Flip and Nemo do. The drying off dance was too cute. Flip's over confidence with the ladies made me laugh out loud.

I lost my mother in 2019, three years ago this coming Monday. I would do almost anything just for another day with her. I bawled like a baby when Nemo arrived at the lighthouse and her dad was there.

I kind of wish Flip didn't find out who he was, just so we can go on more adventures together.

I can't wait for Season Two!!!
2 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Jenna is Wednesday. I absolutely loved the show!! Up until the last episode I really couldn't settle on who the enemy was.

I love the idea of a school that has supernatural creatures. I don't know if the following seasons will be at the school but I would seriously watch a spin off called Nevermore Academy.

The only things that I didn't like was the casting of the parents. They didn't feel like the parents I remember from the tv series or from the 90s movies. Bringing C. Ricci back was genius!! Uncle Fester, Pugsley, Lurch and Thing were all wonderfully played. The new characters were so well suited. I love Enid. She could carry a spin off on her own. I loved Ms Weems. She was absolutely beautiful and she played her part so well that I hated her until the end and then I loved her.

The only thing that I didn't understand and I think was a continuity error was Goody Adams. If Wednesday received her seer/witch powers from her mother, then I would think her ancestor would have been Goody Frump.

Tim Burton did an excellent job with the show. It reminded me of Dark Shadows at first. I look forward to seeing what he will do in the future.

I love this show
26 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I just finished Season 1 and I loved it!! I love that she doesn't know what to do and she makes mistakes and she owns it!! I love Papa and Nana. I love the dogs barking and the annoying roommates. I love that she is so human and doesn't act privileged. She gagged with chopping octopus!! Her stove broke. She licks the mortar and the spoons, and then continues to use them. She talks to her Papa just like my daughter talks to her Papa. And I love that she supports a charity with each show. The only reason why I didn't give this a straight ten is because they didn't list all the recipes on HBO MAX and I want to make the broiled tomatoes.

It should have been a 3 but
25 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The costume and prop department did a fantastic job. It really looked like a family from that time. However the story was horrible. There was not enough background. There was too much of is it really a witch or are they crazy. Too much bashing of Thomisin without knowing why, too much about the crazy witch in the woods without her background story. And I have heard the devil referred to as Ole Nick but never Black Phillip. Background on that would have helped. It's almost like I was taken to the movies but I arrived in the middle of the show.

And the end was stupid. She just starts flying out of nowhere?

You wanted to give credit to historical records and beliefs. Religious sects may have believed that's how witches behaved but witches don't believe in the devil. Witches didn't really fly. They got off on their brooms which they doused with hallucinations so they may have felt like they were floating.

Instead of making it a guessing game, you should have either gave background as to how the family went crazy and left the deaths of the family as shock value or you should have given background to Black Phillip and the mystery witch in the woods and made it a true horror fantasy film.

Wrong monster
27 August 2022
The only reason why I am not giving this episode a 10 is because they did not portray a Rougrou correctly. This is a Cajun myth. Like the Louisiana version of the boogeyman. He is supposed to be more similar to a werewolf in appearance. I always pictured him like the Big Bad Wolf from Red Riding Hood.

Usually Supernatural gets the monsters correct but they didn't do the research on this one. Was Jensen married yet when this episode was written? His wife should have informed him about the legend of the Rougrou. She grew up in Lafayette.

The story itself was great. You really find compassion for the monster.

I thought it was great.
2 July 2022
I didn't know until reading the reviews that it was supposed to be a horror movie. It's not, wasn't scary a bit. So I can understand someone thinking that it was horror giving a bad review.

Now, if you take horror out of the review process and just watch the movie, it's really enjoyable. I love the relationship between Rayne and Dani. I wish we could have gotten more about Rayne's background story. Illy was my favorite character. I hope if X Men continues that they include her. I would have liked more background on all the kids. I think they were trying to leave an opening for a second movie which would have hopefully answered a lot of questions.

Watch Kelly age backwards

I just want her face care routine. Seriously she looks younger in Season 8 than she does in Season 1. Every season I pick a favorite to root for. And truly miss the girls if they don't make it or leave.

Leap Year (2010)

Cute but not believable
23 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The male lead was wonderful. I thought Declan was gross and unattractive at the beginning. By the end I was jumping on IMDB to find what other things I could watch him in. (Off note, Discovery of Witches is one of my favorite book series and he is exactly what I imagined, can't wait to stream the show) However, the story was not believable. Bob just didn't have a personality and there was no reason for traveling to Dublin to propose because there was no romantic feelings between her and Jeremy. And the ending while sweet was not realistic. She's going to marry a man she knows for a weekend? It would have been more romantic for them to date and have the end cut seen be him propose on the following year, or leap year even.

I really like this movie

I had to take a point of because I could detect a British accent at some points but the movie itself was awesome. You could feel Nate's turmoil. I don't think it could have been made in any other way. Brilliant.

I was fine and happy in a sea of nostalgia until Robby teared up. I wish Maggie would have been there. I would have loved a more round table setting with the entire cast together. Perhaps for thirty years?

Warning: Spoilers
This was a wonderful movie. The only thing that wasn't was the try of a relationship. I didn't see any type of chemistry between Tom Hanks and Catherine Zeta Jones. The kiss at the fountain seemed fake. The rest of the movie was a delite and would have earned a nine star rating.

Same characters but not the same movie
9 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The original CtA was genuine. Yes they broke boundaries by doing all the makeup bits. For the time that was an original concept. But then it got old with the nutty professor series and norbet. Bringing the barber shop guys back was cool, but the rafiki wannabe was nasty. I couldn't even look at the screen when he was on. Some of the gags was overboard, like the farting lion. They should have kept it real. The first movie, that's what made it good. The scenes where Eddie showed his heart and kept things real. And that's the only good parts in this movie. The scenes between the son and barber without all the hoopla, the scenes between the kids, when Eddie and Lisa fight, when Eddie talks to his daughter at the end, the scene with his father n law mopping. Those where all heartfelt moments. As much as I adore James Earl Jones, his entire role was cheesy. All the dancing and special guest stars should have been edited to just a few minutes, it was too much. And the casting was wrong with the mom and the uncle. And we are too far in the future to try to get jokes about rape. Both the references in the barber shop to him being proud of being touchy in his past, to the rape of the prince were both gross and complete turn offs. They could have come up with another idea for the baby besides rape. Here's one, it was the 80s. The two guys had to live in the slums. How about the prince went to a sperm bank for cash. And the kid finds out by doing a dna test online. Much better than rape and stuff that actually happens today. That is probably my biggest issue with the entire movie. That they create a son from rape, and then bring the mother back with them? And treat her like family in the end? If it would have been Lisa that was Cosby'd instead of the prince, that concept would never have gotten a green light.

My only complaint is
15 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The show is just too short!! I want longer episodes! The scenery is beautiful Scotland was supposed to be my first trip abroad for my 45th birthday this year, maybe I can make it for 50. This show will definitely give me more ideas for when I finally get there. I do hope that future episodes will go more into the subjects we are just getting a taste of. I had to google things, I had no idea what a langoustine was. I loved the teaching scene on the pete bog. I do hope that we get more information for Sam and Graham. Sam mentioned that he spent early years in Edinburgh. It would be nice to have a hometown tour from where both men grew up, maybe with some insider information. And I can't wait until the dancing episode. I love to watch Graham dance. (If you have never seen it, google it!) Ok, two complaints then... longer episodes and too long of a wait in between! I want to see it all NOW!

Great idea, bad hosting
31 January 2021
The idea of the show is wonderful but the hosts are horrible, boring and cheesy, especially the main host. Just because she looks like a Zoe/Katie wannabe doesn't mean she can sing or act. The guy you can tell is trying but he's cheesy. He reminds me of Channel One TV. The British lady is the only one that I could see as a hostess in an actual real cooking contest. She is professional and knowledgeable.

Only one thing wrong with the episode
19 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
As someone who grew up in Carencro most of the scenery is good. And unlike other TV shows they didn't try to push a fake cajun accent on everything. The southern was fine. (One of these days Hollywood will understand that it's spelled cheri but pronounced sha with a short a. ) However, if Benny was in Carencro and wanted to go fishing he wouldn't have gone to Mills Creek, which is over by Alexandria. He would have gone to St. Martin Lake or somewhere closer to Lafayette. Because for Sam to drop Crazy Martin at Mills Creek, there wouldn't have been time for him to walk to Carencro. You would think being as Jensen's wife is from the area she could have told them that, maybe they weren't together yet? And gumbo is served at the restaurants around there but it would have been more realistic to have the place be a po boy shack for the locals. Thank God Dean pronounced etoufee correctly.

Dean, where's the condom dude?
12 January 2021

I think my worse disappointment in this episode is that the sex scene between Dean and Lydia does not even hint at the wearing of a condom. I could have understood if he would have attempted to wear one, maybe taken it out and Lydia could have taken it away. Something.

Let yourself go and just watch it
9 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Yes, there are some bad things about this movie. The editing is choppy. It's hard sometimes to tell if you are in a fantasy scene or life scene. The dialogue can get cheesy. The main actress is wooden in most of her scenes and could have been replaced by any other generic actress in Hollywood. Sam Heughan cannot speak with an American accent. But it's truly amazingly funny in parts. And heartbreaking in some. You can feel the desperation of Jacob as he tries to figure out what went wrong and how to change things to make it all work out correctly. The way that he counts the days, years, hours and minutes. I wish they would have aged the actors for the final scene instead of using other people. It would have kept with the fantasy theme. They could have let Sam speak natural. It would have not distracted from the movie. I honestly thought he was going to commit suicide or die somehow when he gave his last countdown. It needed some type of emotional twist at the end. For all the usage of the F word, it was unbelievably tween in the sex scenes. Even showing their asses in the skinning dipping scene would have been a little better. It was a good premise. Jacob, the editor and the neighbor were all good. Cassandra needed more depth. And what was with the large man that kept showing up in different places?

Another messed up Stephen King movie
15 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The movie starts off good. As a survivor of domestic violence I cringed during Beverly's opening. But once the monsters came out it was just a farce. The monster under the bed was scary at first. Then when it pulls up in a car and fourth walls the camera it looses all. The old woman was terrifying. When she passed the door I was shaking wondering what was about to happen. What came out of the door was so fake looking I actually considered leaving. The ending of IT was horrible and not frightening at all. A babydoll clown. Ugh. The lepper was obviously fake and just gross, not scary at all. The Logger scene was scary. The people in the background was freaky. The clown makeup scene was scary. The jump scenes were overdone. It was a good scare while in the theater but there was no take you home scare. It didn't last past the credits. The movie was funny. I loved Stephens cameo. But it was drawn out. The water scene was disappointing because it was going on and on so it made you think something scary was going to happen. The walking through town and seeing their younger selves was an ending. The water scene was an ending. The letter scene was an ending. Three endings is overkill. I just need to say, Talisman is in production and it's my favorite Stephen King book. If they mess that move up, I will never read anything else or watch any of his movies again.
