RWBY: Hyôsetsu Teikoku (2022)
I love RWBY, but this isn't it
I enjoyed the first 8 real seasons and eagerly await the ninth. I heard about this and looked forward to it. While the animation is better than the first couple seasons of the real show, the story isn't great. It rushes through the intros and loses the character development. Then it spirals out of control on some weird dream thing that just never ends. I'm going to finish watching it, but it has not been enjoyable in the least. Maybe now that the dream stuff is done (I hope) it will improve.
I highly recommend the real series and the quality does improve from season three onwards, but the story is SO much better. This is just not the same quality of story as the real thing.
Choujin Koukousei-tachi wa Isekai demo Yoyuu de Ikinuku you desu! (2019)
Watchable but dumb
If you like your OP heroes to just pull a tank out of thin air and attack (no, this hasn't happened up to the point I gave up), this anime may be for you. I don't mean they do this in a humorous way, but more of a matter of fact, "of course we can" way. I've watched a lot of OP isekai anime but even this was more than I could bear.
These are not high school students. Just that age (or maybe the writers meant they were prodigies back when they were in high school). At no point do any of these ridiculous characters have anything to do with high school.
Basutado!! Ankoku no hakaishin (2022)
Just bad
It is just bad anime. The only thing I see is the attempts to reference has been heavy metal bands from the 80s in as many ways as possible. The writing, voice acting, and repetitive plot (so far first two episodes are identical) are just cringe worthy at best. Just a horrible attempt at whatever this is supposed to be.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022)
Johnny Depp the real winner
Depp might be the luckiest person ever. He managed to get out of this mess. This third movie is just really boring from the beginning to the middle (where I am currently paused and deciding if it is even worth finishing). Characters, plot, pretty much everything is just so slow and boring. The scenery is great. I would have given more stars if it was just a view of the scenery and the rest of the movie was scrubbed. I enjoyed the first movie, don't remember much of the second, and find it hard to recall anything from the first half of this one. I can honestly say if there are any more in this series, I doubt I'll even view them when streaming for free. I'll go reread the books and try to cleanse this misfire from memory.
Nisekoi (2014)
Season 1 was great
I really enjoyed season one. Unfortunately, season two was a total letdown. A bunch of episodes that were completely unrelated to the main story. More random stuff instead. The kind of things I would expect as extras after the end of the story. Unfortunate, the story has no ending. The end of season two has everything in the same place as the end of season one. It was like the writers lost their ability to progress a story entirely.
Santa Girl (2019)
Only good for the Pep
I love the cheesy Hallmark movies. This isn't that kind of quality. I felt like it was some low budget film school project, and after reading the other reviews it sounds like that is exactly what it was. The only redeeming part of this entire film is Pep. She was great. I gave her 10 stars and everything else dragged down my ratings.
