Death on the Nile (2022)
Oh dear what a shame.
I didn't think is was possible to take such a good story and ruin it completely.
The film is over acted and in places really hammy. Why use such bad actors (Gadot and Bland to name just two of them) when there are so many better actors and actresses around.
It is badly over produced, almost to the point of fantasy/surrealism.
It is incomprehensible that they would not use real scenes of the wonders of Egypt, but instead opt to use crappy CGI, that makes it look half like a cartoon.
In its entirety it just seems to be a vanity project for Kenneth Branagh, which fails on so many levels.
Having watched the film I did not see any redeeming features whatsoever.
The Power of the Dog (2021)
Too slow, too little content.
A very slow moving film with very little content. The film relies of 'artistic' scenes and filming rather than having any decent dialogue.
The 2 hour film could be condensed to less than half an hour and still portray the same story.
The acting was adequate but the actors and actresses could have done little better with such an uninspiring storyline.
Landscapers (2021)
What a waste of viewing time.
I watched the first episode as it sounded as though this was going to be an interesting programme.
How wrong could I have been. Action so slow that a snail could have overtaken it, a very empty script and mediocre acting.
This is one series that certainly does not meet up to the hype.
FBI: International (2021)
Dull and not credible.
What a crap series.
The whole premise does not hold water as the FBI have no jurisdiction abroad. They also carry guns in countries where it would not be allowed etc.
It is also ridiculously patronising in that it tries to show all other police forces as being inept and that they are the only ones that can solve a crime.
M.I.T.: Murder Investigation Team (2003)
absolutely rubbish
There is nothing good about this series. Bad acting, bad camera work, bad direction, bad script.
The only thing good about each episode was the ending.
Ghosts (2021)
Surprisingly good.
Initially I was sceptical as I have enjoyed the original UK version, however having now watched several episodes I am pleasantly surprised.
The characters are obviously different as they need to fit more with American life and history, but they have been cleverly crafted and fit well with the idea of the programme.
The only real thing it seems to lack is are the multiple layers of the UK version, however perhaps I don't see those extra levels through not being American myself.
CSI: Vegas (2021)
A poor copy of the original.
The accent of the English character is appalling. One moment it is RP, then it is mockney, and then something else altogether. Each time the accent changes I cringe.
Also the characters seem flat and the lead is distinctly lacking.
