College Road Trip may be silly and very mediocre but at least it has a lot of heart.

What a very bland movie, I know it was a live-action Disney movie but by half way through the movie I just wanted to shut it off. So how come did I rate it a 6/10? The last 30 minutes of the movie (not the last fifteen but the fifteen minutes before it.) There's one sequence that will literally move you to tears. The score is amazing, the timing is just right and it'll surely make up for the dull movie. Without that sequence, I probably would've rated it a 3/10. I know they try to make it appealing to kids, but if it the movie was more serious then I say we could've had a great movie. If you're looking for a good Disney film, then I say skip it. But, if your a father to daughter(s), I say see it - a lot of fathers can relate to this (although the movie is highly over exaggerated.) For a rather dull movie, it does have a lot of heart.

It's funny, it's sad and it's real; enjoyable fun for the entire family.

What makes For Better or for Worse special is the fact that its realistic. Sure it doesn't rank in the humor of Calvin and Hobbes, but it has a lot of heart. Something you won't see with comic strips (in this case a TV show adaption) is aging in the characters. For Better or for Worse ages its characters and succeeds. It deals with real issues like dates, death of an animal and adjustment to certain things. It's family safe and even if it wasn't i'd still recommend it to kids of all ages. Not only is it enjoyable for the young ones, adults will probably tune in to watch it as well. Watching For Better or for Worse is like watching your own family grow up. You see the good, the bad and the ugly but you mainly see the good. If you can still find it, I recommend it highly.

A bit tarty with a little dash of heaven.

Love on the Side (a.k.a Deluxe Combo Platter - according to my DVD) is actually a pleasant surprise. Sure it doesn't match up with romantic comedies like Harold & Maude, and There's Something About Mary, but seriously, what romantic comedy does now-a-days? It's unfortunate that this movie isn't well known because it could've became really popular, or it could've been one of those indies which lies on the movie store shelf for ages. I say if you find it, watch it. It's not for all tastes because some scenes drag on too long but you could say its part of its charm. I recommend this film to romantic comedy lovers or if you've seen it and looking for another film similar to this, I recommend Mambo Italiano. Take a slice, relax and enjoy.

Desperate Housewives: The Game (2006 Video Game)
8/10
Although the tasks may be easy but at least these Sims get a mysterious storyline.
10 June 2008
I am a huge fan of the hit ABC series Desperate Housewives, thats why I was excited to see there was a game for PC. I had bought it expecting it to be challenging, but I found it quite easy and I finished it in only a matter of two days. It captures the show well in some ways, although the humor isn't that great but at least there's a mystery to it. But overall, you'll be amused because the tasks are fun, you can interact with other people on Wisteria Lane, walk around and solve the mystery to your own characters life. It's not the greatest game but it's one of the best games of 2006 and it does come from one of the best shows. I say try it out and it is worth the purchase.

Cattle Call (2006)
3/10
Dull and mediocre but it had a few chuckles.

It ain't no Vacation movie but I guess I could say it was worth the rental..sorta. I had small mixed feelings about this movie. The premise of the movie was good, it was just the movie itself that was bad. Diedrich Bader had a very weak performance in this movie and Thomas Ian Nicholas showed me why again I never really found anything special about him. Although there were a few times where I laughed, the romantic parts felt like I was watching a bad TV-movie. If I were you, I would approach this movie with caution, you'll like it if you're a die-hard National Lampoon fan. You'll be disappointed if you're expecting a Dorm Daze movie. I just hope that there is no sequel in the works.

Desperate Housewives (2004–2012)
10/10
Here's one secret we've all figured out: Desperate Housewives is one of the best show of the new millennium.
31 May 2008
Think of the perfect place to live. A seemingly perfect suburbia where the lawns are beautifully maintained, the neighbors say hello and where people can finally live their happily ever afters. If this is your image of the perfect place to live, then you're dead wrong.

Desperate Housewives is one of the biggest surprise television programs of the new millennium. You might think that Desperate Housewives is just another Sex and the City rip-off but you're wrong. It's a show about a group of close-knit housewives who live in an idyllic suburbia whose lives come crashing down when one of there very own friends mysteriously commits suicide. With there already hectic lives and imperfect romances, they're about to realize that there is much more going on beneath the surface.

Who are the housewives? Well there's..

Bree Van De Kamp (Marcia Cross). A woman who seems to have the perfect life whose really just hiding her pain. Behind her seemingly perfect family, house, lawn and stunning features is a woman in pain. She's a fighter and if there's one character who I have to give props in the character development it's defiantly Bree.

Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher). All Susan is trying to do is to find love. With an ugly divorce and an on-and-off relationship with the mysterious neighborhood hunk, Susan is pretty skeptical when it comes to love. Although clumsy at times, Susan is a lovable woman whose just trying to find a man.

Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman). Trying to balance work and family is never easy. No one knows this better then Lynette Scavo. Whether the trouble be with work, her family, or personal problems, Lynette is the housewife that most mothers can relate to.

Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria Parker). What are some things to describe Gabrielle Solis? You could say young, beautiful, rich and glamorous but there's much more to her then just that. She might be shallow and high maintenance but beneath her is a struggling woman whose life isn't as glamorous.

Edie Britt (Nicollette Sheridan). Edie Britt is not one who will break bread with the other housewives. She's a mean tramp who will do anything to get what she wants. Behind her mean personality is a woman with a fear and that is being alone. There is a sympathetic side to her but in the meantime she's the one who will keep the other housewives on their toes.

Katherine Mayfair (Dana Delany). Behind Katherine's pretty face is a dark past. Although she might seem cold at times, Katherine is a lot like Bree. Katherine is just a woman looking for a normal life from her mysterious past. I'd have to say she is one of the strongest housewives who will go to extreme lengths to protect her daughter.

And of course there's..Mary-Alice Young (Brenda Strong). Mary-Alice is the heart of the show. Although she is dead, she looks down on her friends. She is the narrator of the show with the darkest and most twisted secrets of all. Taking her life in the very first episode, she is the definition of desperate.

Desperate Housewives has come a long way since it first premiered in 2004. It's an excellent combination of comedy, drama, crime, mystery and romance with lots of symbolism. It's enjoyable for both sexes and is a hoot to watch. It'll make you laugh, it'll make you cry and it'll leave you on the edge of your seat.

Aurore (2005)
10/10
Compelling, Disturbing and Mesmerizing French Quebec Film.
27 December 2007
This fantastic remake to the classic french Quebec film, is absolutely outstanding. Not only is it one of the best remakes in french Quebec film history but one of the best remakes I have ever seen. Since I am from Quebec, we always like to see french Quebec films. And seeing that they had already done a remake to a classic film thats based on a true story, I was one of the first few to rent this movie at our local videostore. And I must I say Wow! What is there not to love about the movie? The acting is outstanding, the direction is perfect and the score fits in so perfectly. Im not over-exaggerating here but Aurore is a visual treat. However, its not for the faint of heart and the easily disturbed, because not only does this movie deal with child abuse but the whole atmosphere is so raw and realistic. I have never met one person who didn't cry watching this movie. I do however recommend this movie to all who want to know more about the story. Prepare yourself for a compelling, disturbing and mesmerizing french Quebec film.
