A Christmas Wish in Hudson (2021)
Beautiful location for this movie
Best part of the movie was the location. It was beautiful, charming, breathtaking! I would love to visit. The movie tried, but it really fell flat. Some of the acting was good, some of the acting was fair. Storyline , unfortunately, was same cookie cutter that we see in most Christmas movies. It had potential.
Most of the snow looked beautifully real! That was an added bonus! And most of the Christmas decorations felt joyful!
I'm glad the movie was made during a cold time of the year it made it feel more Christmassy and more real. Lot of these movies are filmed with fake snow in the warmer months and it feels fake.
A Brush with Christmas (2022)
Not bad
I liked the story about the middle-aged couple. I wish the whole movie had been about them. That would have made it unique because of their age. I guess Christmas movies are only for young pretty people to fall in love lol
Most of the acting was good with the exception of the male lead . So because the male leads acting was blah it was hard to feel a connection between him and the female lead. The town is pretty. The snow looks fake. The artwork was fun!
If the mail lead had stronger acting chops I think I would have liked this movie pretty darn well. I'm sure it's hard to come up with unique plot lines and enough actors that are good at acting. Especially on a channel that is new and growing in popularity.
My Favorite Christmas Tree (2022)
Actually had substance!
This was pretty darn good I was surprised and happy! My husband sat through the whole movie with me which he rarely does and he mentioned that this movie actually had substance! Loved the mystery plot. Loved that there was more than one story line acting was very good. One of the best Christmas movies I've seen this year. I rated it seven out of 10. Beautiful scenery and I loved the gorgeous cabins and furniture craftsmanship. It is rare that I ever watch any of these movies more than once but I look forward to seeing this one again. The relationship between the male lead and the female lead was believable.
The Art of Christmas (2022)
Cute but mediocre
I was hoping this would be better. Plot was pretty good and the acting was fair.
Unfortunately, it was extremely predictable. The storyline with the young girl who's getting bullied had potential, but it fizzled. It was interesting that the leading lady was pretty and the leading man looked more like an average guy next door. No real chemistry between them probably because the acting wasn't very good. Wish they had played up the Grandpa's role a little bit more. I think that would have been fun. He was a character for sure! I will say that the dresses and costumes were really pretty to look at. Very very forgettable movie.
A Christmas... Present (2022)
Not your typical Christmas movie, which is a good thing! :-)
First half of the movie is a little irritating and frantic. Candace Cameron bure's character works so hard at making happiness that it does kind of grade on your nerves a little bit. The second half of the movie is thoughtful and has a very nice story. I think I like the movie because it wasn't your typical cookie cutter movie this is truly about an entire family. Not just two people falling in love at Christmas time. That was very refreshing and loved hearing about the true meaning of Christmas and how if you don't have God at your core then life's going to be a struggle. My husband enjoyed the movie also and he typically doesn't care for any of them because they're so cookie cutter.
Christmas in Paris (2019)
Boring
A little bit disappointed. Just an average movie. Nice having the real french actor player French character though his accent is super thick. I had to rewind multiple times to understand some of what he was saying. The story never really developed. And there's a few stories in there but it never caught traction. It's like the whole movie was just simple and blah. A little unbelievable how the two main characters so quickly fell in love. Nice message about forgiveness I suppose, though the movie does not cause you to have a true deep feeling either way. Not sure that was really paris? Loved seeing Daphne zuniga her part was too small! Acting was good.
Christmas on Holly Lane (2018)
Not your typical cookie cutter Christmas movie
This was really better than I ever thought it was going to be. Not your typical Christmas storyline but still a bit predictable. I found this refreshing! It was such a nice change of pace. It shows us that we all have problems and the importance of having friends and family to share them with and allowing each other to help each other. I enjoyed the different pace of this Christmas movie and glad they took a chance by not following the pack! Three friends from childhood who lift each other up and truly believe in each other. It has more real life pitfalls than your typical Christmas movie does but I think that's why I really enjoyed it. Just a nice change of pace!
The Christmas Yule Blog (2020)
