Upon returning to Argentina in 1996, he found himself discontented and decided to travel to Europe to play rugby. He was forced to leave when his plans there went awry and on return flight, stopped over in Toronto, Canada. Curious, Gabriel decided to stay a while and it is here he rediscovered his lost childhood love... Music and the Arts.
In 1997 he played for Balmy Beach Rugby Club in Toronto, helping them win the Senior Mens Ontario Provincial Championship and also met his Canadian wife.
Upon becoming a landed immigrant in 1999, Gabriel finally decided to pool his interests in film and music and dove into the Canadian film industry. He soon worked as a camera assistant alongside top Canadian and International cinematographers.
Forever restless, Gabriel began directing his ideas onto film and video, working them into short films and music videos, each inspired by the music and the creative thoughts in his head.
After establishing himself as a focus puller, his urge to express his ideas remained constant. He decided to move into post-production to learn the technical post-production side of filmmaking and became a compositor.
He is presently working as a compositor on a TV Show for CBC, called What Its Like Being Alone, written and directed by Brad Peyton.
As a director, Gabriel visually captures a very deep, gritty, raw, melancholic side of life. Hes constantly learning and experimenting with new and established media forms. From film, DV, HD to compositing and animating still images.
He is currently writing and developing his first feature film.

Inception (2010)
Inception = Deception
Inception was a deception big time. The movie was not emotionally engage. Not emotion at all. It was like a long trip going at 40 kph all the way. Over the top VFX and photosonics doing slow-mo like a shampoo commercial.
The concept of having a dream, within a dream within a dream and then put an idea in somebody's head to change the future outcome, didn't excite me at all. Knowing his previous movies, I knew the movie will start at the end and let's go back to dig. Boring.
Definitely his best movie to date is FOLLOWING.
If you want to understand what it means an emotionally engage movie where you won't know until the end what is happening and without Hollywood explosions, watch ABRE LOS OJOS by Alejandro Amenabar.
Since when a British filmmaker has emotions?
Micmacs à tire-larigot (2009)
Sadly repetitive. Old cameos.
First of all, I decided to become a Director and not a DOP thanks to JP Jeunet after watching delicatessen. Then I became a fan of him, recognizing instantly any camera movement and cinematography without even knowing it was him.
Amelie came out and I thought, he made it, this is his master-piece, and it was. Micmacs, became an extreme disappointment. Jeunet trying hard to cash on Amelie and adding cameos, set designs, camera movements and cinematography from all his previous movies, not bringing anything new to the hardcore fans.
I think this film is not a challenge for JPJ. He MUST get out of his comfort zone and challenge him self with another genre, cinematography and actors.
JPJ, please do not ruin Delicatessen and Amelie. Leave those movies alone and do something completely different.
