Bjelogrlic weaves several threads here. While the main thread of Toma's life is in the foreground, the threads woven into the background tell the stories of people and a time that newer generations have only heard about in the stories of their parents.

Sotra is an expert to take a theme that could be filmed as an epic block buster and make a school recital out of it. Some very important parts of Serbian (and Balkan) history are waiting for a more capable film maker.
