WandaVision (2021)
So very fascinating!
For anyone who hasn't watched it yet or is thinking about watching it, don't overthink it..this is by far one of the top series I've ever watched in my entire life! Everyone's performance in this is stunning but Elizabeth's is simply captivating and breathtaking!
The first 2 or 3 episodes do NOT represent the true essence of what this show is about, so don't misjudge it from its beginning.
For those who just rushed in to give it 6 stars and below, and calling it boring and a disappointment, next time please actually wait until you've seen at least half of a series' season.....
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Not what we expected..
I absolutely loved the first WW! The time in Themyscira, Diana joining man's world and the war, just about everything felt and was amazing! So, as you can understand, I had such high hopes for this film..the hype alone from the trailers...
This movie should have only 1 protagonist and that should have been Gal Gadot - Wonder Woman! Instead, we got Chris Pine - Steve Trevor as our protagonist..no, just no..the guy died in 1918 and should have stayed there!! End of story, for him!
Instead of an action/superhero movie we get this huge melodrama, with splashes of (bad) comedy, a devastatingly weak Diana (emotionally) - unable to get over or meet someone else in 66(!) years and a guy who was a 1918 pilot but could somehow, without even basic training, handle a 1980s fighter jet! Jesus Christ!!
For real now, you get only 1 wish and no, you don't wish to go back to your home, from which you've been exiled, or see your mother or aunt again, with who you spent hundreds of years growing up and training, no no..! Instead you wish to see a guy who's been dead for 66 years and whom you knew for only a few months, shared a dance and a kiss with and that's about it...Do you realize how ridiculous that is, how weak that makes Wonder Woman!??
The movie starts great with those 11 minutes in Themyscira! Lilly Aspell, Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright are always a delight to watch in their respective roles! Then it loses itself, in this huge comedy/romance/drama thing, then it tries to find itself again, when WW renounces her wish.
The action is..ok, CGI could and should have been better, for a $200mil film. Gal Gadot, Pedro Pascal and Kristen Wiig tried their best with their performances (as much as the entire story and character writing allowed them to).
Patty Jenkins is a great director, there's no denying that, but she should stick to directing only! What made WW so good compared to WW84?? Patty was not involved in WW's screenplay and story..
