Classic

Classic John Hughes. Tapping into the teenage mindset. It's consistently funny throughout with hardly a quiet moment. What kid hasn't faked sick? What kid hasn't fantasized the perfect fake sick day?

Dreadful

Worst show to ever exist. An embarrassment to the human race. The host acts like an idiotic ten year old. You will lose IQ points every minute you drudge through the idiocy of the show.

Top Notch

Compelling thriller with outstanding acting from all. This movie explores the idea of following orders in the military. Should orders be followed blindly without regard the the nature of the orders? Is a soldier culpable for following an unethical order? Great entertainment.

Hilarious and Sad

Delusion is tricky. If you an accept an argument based upon suspicion alone and then hold onto that belief and protect it as a mother would her children then you are well on your way to be delusional. The next step is fall waist deep into the logical fallacy of confirmation bias, Like quicksand you cannot escape but unlike quicksand you will not desire to escape. You revel in it. This 'documentary' is a textbook example of how delusion can take an otherwise healthy individual into a sickened mental state. The arguments are comically absurd to even my ten year old child.

Brilliant Filmmaking
30 November 2020
The acting, writing, directing, and most importantly editing all came together perfectly. Heartwarming and hilarious describe the viewer experience better than typical plot details and recap.

Low Brow
9 October 2020
You haven't seen low brow comedy until you've seen this. Even by Sandler standards this is trash. Waste of time and an embarrassment to humankind.

Horrifying

Horrifying and can have lifelong residual effects in the psyche. Even to the non-religious the film terrifies with a compelling, impeccably acted film about evil.

Classic. The whole is greater than the parts. The show had awful episodes toward the end but that does not diminish its excellence.

Embarrassing

Pathetically inept script, weak acting, and sophomoric humor. The movie was released during Farley's heyday at SNL and it's success only attributable to the fervor of his fans. If you are not a Farley fan then after watching this movie you will at best remain not a fan.

Sophomoric
17 February 2020
Nonsense, obligatory plot aside this movie is a string of low brow jokes that rarely work. Norm Macdonald is a good comic but his humor does not transfer very well to film. The jokes are sophomoric and embarrassingly unfunny. I'm amazed anyone with an IQ higher than that of a typical 10yr old's could rate this movie higher than one star.

Satisying

Well crafted, satisfying drama about struggle, survival, and overcoming tragedy. Phoenix is remarkable as a newly disable alcoholic orphan. Actually all the acting is superb, including that of an unrecognizable Jonah Hill. The movie is less about plot and more themes. What is it like to be an orphan, alcoholic, disabled?
