An American Crime (2007)
I see a light : Hope . I feel a breeze : Strength . I hear a song : Relief . Let them through, for they are the welcome ones !
I Had a Wiki Background about the Case , so i don't get myself shocked seeing it visually .. Well , I've got myself Shocked either way ..
To begin with .. i mainly LOVE crime stories ..& very attracted to the IRL Criminal Cases .. thought that *All* of them can give you the hype of the Mystery and the Thrill of the Unknown .. but little did i know ..
recently i began surfing the websites and wikipedia about the missing person cases & John/Jane Doe & etc .. then my searches escalated to the Child Abuse & Murder Cases . As a big fan of Psychology Studies I did insist on knowing how deep can a Criminal let himself degenerate to a Very low or a Non-human Level which gives him/her the permission to target any Child with such Acts ?! .. how does it fulfill his/her desire to fill a childhood gap or to compensate for a Life Trauma . how bad does he/she needs to do such thing to a degree when they dispose of their own Mercy and feelings of Guilt and Remorse ?!! .. All of these questions and more are brought to my mind when seeing such acts involving Child Sexual Abuse & Murders .
and I thought that as deeply Sad and devastating as it appears , it has it's own attraction and thrill to search for more and to study more & more about these Criminals and how they treat their Victims (Especially the Children) . but as i said : *little did i know* ..
as i got deeper into the matter > a sad case after a sad case > when the name (The Murder Of Sylvia Likens) appeared on the Wiki list . I intended to check it out .. As it surprised me how long the Article was under a Picture of a Pretty young 16-year old girl with a strangely beautiful smile .. it took me about 3-4 hours as I have read every word without leaving a single detail starting with Sylvia's life as a daughter of a travelling Couple (Carnival Workers) , Then moving to Her life along with her poor helpless sister who suffered from Polio inside a Boarding house under the care of a crone called Gertrude Baniszewski ..
while reading and getting deeper & deeper into the story , that's when i had no choice but to Burst out of Tears for the first time in my life reading a crime story . that's when i realized that the Circle of my Thrill i get from Mystery & Crime Stories were broken and shattered forever behind my Tears . Despite having a background and being familiar with a lot of historical events of torture & homicide . This one did hit me real hard , i haven't known nor found a single soul who has gone through an unspeakable turn of events & Hellish Experience like that young teenage Girl , I'm not sure I want to speak about the details , but overall .. it was utterly horrifying and inhumane situations for this innocent young soul which led to her Death, and the culprits were a bunch of Jealous , Sadistic and Lowlife/Sick minded Brutes who lack of the slightest deal of Conscience .
Now speaking of the Movie "An American crime" : It was a Well done work of Biography as it really gives a plain explanation and a good indication as to what really happened back then and how it all started , it's a "MUST SEE IT" Movie , literally for every capable person to notice how the World could create over the course of history such Creatures we call them "people" by appearance . a Creatures which can lure the Purest Souls among us promising them Life & Protection and then developing a Sick Hatred and Jealousy against their innocent Hopes and potential in life and then devour it in front of them . a Pure Soul such as Sylvia Likens was very well represented by Ellen Page , Ellen truly did a very good job representing Sylvia , and of course Hayley Mcfarland did very good being the role of Jennie Likens . not to mention the the Cast who were succeeded in developing a personal hatred from the Viewer against their real life figures .. It was a well done Movie as much as it was utterly emotionally devastating , painfully depressing , absolutely grievous . and I do really want to talk about that last Scenario in the Movie , when I was watching the last scenes , a moment came when Sylvia (Ellen Page) was on the ground unconscious and then opened her eyes , mumbling in pain and agony and then she was surprised as Paula was waking her up after all and carrying her out of the basement in an attempt to help Sylvia run away for her freedom (that moment when I was absolutely surprised by the scene as I didn't know nor read anything about rescuing Sylvia and escorting her out of that dreadful place ! but I kept watching ..) , while she was desperately running away with her mutilated legs , that's when Richard Hobbs found & helped her and repeatedly apologized to her for what he's done carving those words on her body as an order from Gertrude . then he drove her back to the carnival as Sylvia wished to see her Parents once more and put an end to her torment . upon her arrival , as her parents were shocked seeing her in such state , As the father was speechless looking at his daughter mutilated & tortured body , while her mother hugging her with tears . (at that very moment I tried real hard to wipe my tears away and began thinking with hope ... was that what actually happened !? , did Sylvia really manage to run away for her freedom ?! maybe she died as a result of these Wounds but at least maybe she was reunited with her people once more ! was the Article I read on wiki about the whole thing was incorrect or perhaps was it at least a bit inaccurate ?! maybe .. but I absolutely did hope so ..)
Either way I moved on watching what happened next when I saw the moment when Sylvia talked to her parents and decided to go back to the Baniszewski's House (for her sister Jennie I think) . Sylvia revisited the house , got inside , that's when I started sobbing real hard .. seeing Sylvia standing over the scene of the shocking reality showing Stephanie trying desperately to wake Sylvia up believing that she might be unconscious before realizing how cold her body was .. no sign of breathing .. no sign of life .. that kept me weeping and sobbing for a long time realizing that the whole scene since the moment of rescuing Sylvia out of the house , driving her back to the Carnival until she reunites once again with her parents was nothing but what Sylvia did really hope for while she was tied & lying on the basement floor . she hoped for a last chance of freedom , a last chance with no more pain , a last chance of reunion with the loved ones .
Then again I guess I was wrong , my hope for Sylvia for a chance of Freedom was desperate . it's always the harsh reality which rules .. I guess ..
Pardon me for the excessive emotions within the review , however this Movie , or to be specific : This story , deserves all of humanity's attention , it deserves the mourning of every single living one of us . because as far as I know , no one ever did / will endure or go through as what this girl has gone through .
And Overall , this Movie as much pain as it showed , it's one of the greatest Movies which cannot be ignored , it taught us how unfair the life can become against a lot of us , and how we must stand against any form of Child abuse , and confront those sick Animals who would do anything to satisfy their twisted illusions . Sylvia Likens is a Hero , an example of Hope , Strength and great potential in life for all Humanity .
Rest In Peace , Sweetheart . We will Never forget You .. Ever .
I deeply appreciate everyone who helped making that Movie and many thanks to Ellen Page for the absolute great Performance , as I Proudly rate it 10/10 <3
BioShock Infinite (2013)
One of the Greatest games i've ever played in my entire life .. i swear !
This game .. i don't know what to say .. i can't even describe it with words .. i played and finished the whole series .. the first game and the second game were awesome .. but this one .. is something else .. and i can't imagine how it affected on me ..
what i want to say that i carry a lot of feelings and emotions towards this game , towards it's atmosphere , it's music, it's shocking events and it's wonderful characters ..
Elizabeth and Booker Dewitt .. especially Elizabeth and her beautiful appearance and unique personality .. getting to know this character and treat her as a partner was something imaginative .. which made me eagerly willing to keep an eye on her but she handled herself pretty well .. both are really amazing characters and I love them greatly ..
this game delivers many deep issues and questions .. some of them make you bitterly sad .. drive you into a deeper Overthinking ..
"How does it look like being imprisoned alone in a tower since the childhood especially if it was for a young girl ?!"
"How does it look like when finally having the freedom afterwards !?"
"How does it look like when walking free down in the streets and see happy people singing and dancing then go share a dance with someone for the first time in life ?"
"How does it feel like when you realize that your savior is really sending you to a worse place just for paying his own debt !?"
"what does the feeling of revenge look like towards the man who claims to be a father and he's responsible for your imprisonment the whole time just to gain benefit from your superhuman abilities ?"
and "How far will you keep enduring and moving forward if you suddenly found a chance to erase and clear a sin of leaving a small girl behind to die in a fire ?!"
All of these questions and more of them mixed to the exact feelings of Sadness , Remorse and Pain ...
This game is without a multiplayer which delivers a great feeling that you're the one who face the consequences and you're alone and the only one who can get through this ! and continue your own journey between Columbia and Rapture .. just you and Elizabeth .. that's the why I love single player games more than anything else .. such a great experience as this game is the Perfect Example ..
After finishing the game for some unknown reason .. i sat down with myself and started crying for days .. maybe just didn't want it to end ... don't know ..
In the end , Even love doesn't come close to what I feel towards this game ! i will never forget this game .. never ...
Many thanks and love to the game developers , directors , voice actors , and voice actresses for creating such a magnificent game ..
...
Special thanks and love to:-

Courtnee Draper "Elizabeth (voice)"
