Gunsmoke: Lacey (1962)
Hite a great writer
Full story. Goid acting throughout aith Matt having some especially nice scenes. powerful ending helped by music choice.
Gunsmoke: The Choice (1959)
Weak
I know Matt can show mercy and kindness but when did hebecome a social worker with scant respect fòr the law?
Gunsmoke: Buffalo Hunter (1959)
Reality
Old west style. Violent buit lineal realista. Not fòr the faint of heart.
Gunsmoke: Murder Warrant (1959)
Harmless
Fairly typical episode and somewhat fun although its unlilely Matt world bénd the law like that'.
Gunsmoke: The Hostage (1965)
Good acting
Darren Magavin ,fine performances and scant use of the dreadful Festus and worse Thad make. up fòr a convaluted tale.
Gunsmoke: My Sister's Keeper (1963)
Absurd
Here we go again with perfectly coiffered and dressed old west .'women. There wasa story hereu but lost in the handling of the women.
Gunsmoke: Wind (1959)
TOtally Gunsmoke sexist
But who cares. It was Silly fun. It didnt really ho anywhere.
Gunsmoke: The F.U. (1959)
I like this one
Finalment he didnt vet the and guy! Twists plot. Would lo e to know well Matt mas relibed back in Dodge. Chester is a hoot.
Gunsmoke: Once a Haggen (1964)
Just okay
At least Festus broke his endless stream of bromances for a minute although his interactions with April were like a love sick 12 yr old. and APRIL. Every episode she was on she appeared to be severly mentally deficent. But a good mystery line to story.
Gunsmoke: Nina's Revenge (1961)
Real actors real direction
And those two things along with a real story. Is what its all about. Being able to spot and emply a gunfighter at the drop of a hat is a bit implausable but mostly the story is strong and all acting excellent. Powerful ending.
Gunsmoke: The New Society (1965)
Many plot twists
Very intriging plot twists in a well acted thriller.Excellent well known actors.
Gunsmoke: Gypsum Hills Feud (1958)
Women making sense
People will. hate this because women have big roles and they arent saloon girls. Yes,it was too easily smoothed over but acting was strong and story was different. Also men and women actually LOOKED. Like they might be hill people!
Gunsmoke: Snakebite (1958)
Great role
Great role for a great old character actor and a different type,of story. Very engaging.
Gunsmoke: Abe Blocker (1962)
Legit
This was a good subject. As an elder I can relate to the passing of a familiar culture.
I cant stand Chill Wills but this story had a real legit subject that is still universal.
Gunsmoke: The Hunger (1962)
Interesting
Again with the heavily abused and starved young girl YET STILL. Beautiful!! Some good issues, good acting, could havw been creepy with the affection of Doc stuff but handled well by writer and Mulbuen Stone.
Gunsmoke: Phoebe Strunk (1962)
Shows promise
I get so sick if these frontier girls being potrayed as pert, in cute fresh calco, nipped in waist, shiny fresh washed hair. Ridiculous.
The do produce a LOT of episodes about girls being attacked. That story line gets old. They have good actors. They need better stories.
Gunsmoke: Grass (1958)
Greenhorn
Sad tale about a well meaning greenhorn who gets in a culture he doesnt understand. Suspenseful and a nice morality tale.
Gunsmoke: Bank Baby (1965)
Ho hum
Ho hum episode with a highly unlikely plot. Weak show for Reynolds finale. He deserved better.
Gunsmoke: Breckinridge (1965)
B as d idea
Another attempt at adding a semi reg character. Not a,believable character in any way WAS THE DANDY LAWYER. COULDNT HAVE FIT in in any way. Like dropped from the future. Almost as bad as another attempt with the unappealing Kale guy. Quint was great, Newly was good, Thad was God awful and the flatest actor ever.
Gunsmoke: The Patsy (1958)
Good mysyery
Although one can usually figure it out based on the guest star, this time Martin Landau. Had a beginning, middle and end which is not always the case. Sometimes there is too, much story for the half hour. Someimes too little. This one was well done.
Gunsmoke: Bad Lady from Brookline (1965)
God awful
It is amazing how often these fading acttess with formerly successful careers come on shows like Gunsmoke an are just beyond terrible. Betty Hutton was so dreadful,in this show she was embarrasing. The entire cast must habe felt akward aboit this performnce and sad for her. Why did they run this? One of the worst ever.
Gunsmoke: The Gentleman (1958)
Okay
There was just not enough story here to last an hour. The viewer knew within 20 min what was wrong and how it would end. Good cast though npt much of a tale to tell.
Gunsmoke: Winner Take All (1965)
Silly women
Gunsmoke is my all time favorite tv show but there some elements I abhored such as Festus's creepy over the top adoration of Matt and the ridiculodly tiny, delicte, fresh skinned ,shiny haited women of their old west...even the saloon girls! Oh, I know why they did it but in doing so they totally destroyed the authenticity of the show. This just another one of those so so scripts
Gunsmoke: Song for Dying (1965)
Gentle chamge
Nice gentle story for a change with npt too much random senseless killing until, the end. Fine, multi award winnimg actor, Bikel adds depth to the story. The endless "revenge for my whomever" theme really gets overused on Gunsmoke
Gunsmoke: The Way It Is (1962)
Nive episode
With depyh,of story and real character development. K Hite always writes well for women and the producers are wise to see this and feature it.
How people can still question a romantic relationship between Matt and Kitty is beyond me.me !
