It's kind of a sad statement on Hollywood these days when I find an independently made short film far funnier than anything I've seen in theaters in a long, time. "Jack the Reaper" was clearly made by people who understand the importance of good acting and just as importantly- good story. Though it's a short film, the story is engaging in a way not a ton of films (short or otherwise) seem to be these days. I liked Jack and wanted to stick with him and continue following his story. To me that says a LOT about a movie. I also have to point out that this film actually LOOKS like a film, with high production values and professional editing, music, etc. Stuff like that makes a difference. So to sum up: this is a really well made, really enjoyable movie. I'd like to see what the people behind this short film could do with an actual feature, because they've made something really excellent here.
