The Foreigner (I) (2017)
10/10
A Brilliant Film, Not To Be Missed.
1 April 2018
I don't normally give 10/10 for anything as I always think there is room for improvement. Also, I was initially put off watching this film because I've never really been a fan of Jackie Chan as I'm not a fan of martial arts films because they're usually too typically American and overdone. I think the last film I watched Chan in was the comedy film Cannonball Run years ago. If you're like me, don't be put off this film for the same reasons.

The Foreigner is a brilliant action movie and Mr Chan is very very good in it, giving an against type performance, probably one of, if not his best performance ever. (having not seen many of his films, I can only summise here). There are mild touches of martial arts in this during the action scenes but it's not over the top. Pierce Brosnan also gives one of his best ever performances as an Irish politician and as a fan, the reason I watched this. I've seen many of his films, but this ranks as one of his very best.

The subject is terrorism and their warped ideology, but I'm sure most people will absolutely love this gripping film.

Very entertaining crime caper.

I found this film a lot of fun and very enjoyable. I've again read reviews and there are some people who pan this fim. I also read that even Will Poulter who starred in the film regretted doing it though I don't know why, I've seen many far worse films than this one. If you like action/crime films, this shouldn't disappoint ... if it does then you're hard to please. It's even based on a true story apparently.

A Cracking Little Film.
18 March 2018
I'd never heard of or knew about this film. I came across it on Netflix as I was looking for British films to watch.

If you like gentle British comedies/dramas similar to the Margery and Gladys film with June Brown and Penelope Keith, you'll love this. I'm not going to pull the film to pieces on improbabilities like some critics do, just watch it for the fun it is. There are many older British stalwarts of film and television in this and it's great to see them together here. I loved this film, though it will probably appeal to an older audience more than a younger one.

Ignore the so called professional critics!
4 March 2018
I watched this film tonight on Netflix. It wasn't my choice to watch it but another member of the house wanted it on and I didn't think it would be my kind of film. Plus, Kevin Costner is not an actor I'm drawn to, I don't know why as it's not that I think he's a bad actor or anything, he just doesn't draw me for some reason. However, I was pleasantly surprised with this film as it really is rather good, and so is Costner along with everyone else.

I've seen some of the so called 'professioal' critics views of the film on here and most of the one's I've seen aren't too good. Some people will pick and look for faults with everything. Take no notice and I'm sure, if you like action films, this will float your boat.

This film is good!

Take no notice of critics reviews, this is a damned good actioner if you like these type of films, as I do. Which action film has ever been realistic, we know they're not, just damn good entertainment, which this is. This film is much better than it's prequel, a remake. I watch a film for entertainment, not to pick fault with storylines or realities. One of Jason Stathams good one's here.

Truly awful film ... avoid
26 February 2018
I watched this film recently on Netflix and thought it would be a decent actioner given it's star Nicholas Cage and the write up. It is anything but and a truly awful film. I have wasted approximately two hours of my life on this which I will never get back. Please avoid if you have a life.
