Tenet (2020)
We Live in a Twilight World...
What can I say? Christopher Nolan brings us another one of his unique and mind-twisting stories in a way that only he and his team can deliver in Tenet. Movies truly do not get much better than this. To really grasp the understanding this film, multiple viewing will be necessary.
Everything about this movie met my expectations, if not exceeded it. Tenet is a masterpiece! Bravo to everyone who worked on this movie. Will it be the savior for movie theatres and revive the movie-going experience? Well, I can't speak for others but I can tell you this; There were hardly any slow moments. Tenet was action-packed from the beginning to the end. The cinematography was very captivating to my eyes. The costumes looked so appealing. The score by Ludwig Göransson was as expected; fantastic. I've been listening to the soundtrack all week. And the story is one that only Christopher Nolan and his team could bring to life, flawlessly. Yes, it is very confusing. Trust me, give it time to grow on you so you can put the pieces together and complete the puzzle. After all, this is a Christopher Nolan movie we're talking about.
John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Kenneth Branagh, and the remainder of the cast were so impressive! I expected them to give great performances but they really gave it their all in Tenet. Nolan knows how to bring together a wonderful cast and have them work together perfectly. You can feel the chemistry between the characters throughout the whole movie.
I first saw it in an AMC IMAX theatre and it was so wild that my adrenaline was through the roof the whole time! My one complaint would be the sound mixing. Sometimes it was hard to understand what the characters were saying because the score and sound effects would sometimes play over them and drown out the word. After my second and third viewing, I loved the movie even more. I understood it better and I focused much harder. Plus, I went to Regal those two times where the sound was easier for me to follow and understand the characters.
Many people also say that there wasn't enough emotion put into The Protagonist's character and there wasn't much of a background story. To me, I'm perfectly fine with that. The mystery behind this whole film is another factor that makes Tenet worth watching many times. To me, he goes by John.
To conclude, Tenet isn't your ordinary time movie. It so original in a way that it portrays time so differently from other time movies through the use of inversion and Nolan's intelligence. After seeing it 3 times already and watching countless hours of Tenet trailers, I'm still not finished understanding Tenet completely. It was truly mind-blowing and I would recommend everyone to watch it in an IMAx theatre first. A century from now, Christopher Nolan will still be talked about as one of the greatest directors ever.
Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
Thor: Ragnarok is a Materpiece!
Taika Waititi directing Thor: Ragnarok was probably the best thing that happed to Thor. It was so brilliantly made and Waititi brought his own style and allowed everyone to improvise, for the better. This is definitely one of my favorite Marvel movie!
Thor: Ragnarok was really a dark film sugarcoated with an upbeat tone and so much comedy. That's why it's so great! High stakes, genocide, and Asgard falling.
I always thought Odin was near perfect but now we know of his dark past thanks to Hela.
Cate Blanchett was amazing portraying Hela! I don't read comics but I know a great villain when I see one. As far as the rest of the cast, they were great too. Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston's brotherly chemistry was nothing less than perfect. Nothing we haven't seen before from Thor, Loki, and Heimdall but the addition of Tessa Thompson, Mark Ruffalo, and Jeff Goldblum was amazing.
Although this movie wasn't perfect, everyone played their roles perfectly, the story was interesting, and the movie was complemented by an intriguing soundtrack
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
Batman v Superman was Exceptional
Despite what most people and critics are saying about this film, I enjoyed the film.
I went into this film not expecting what I was going to get and I got the opposite, for the bad and good.
Zach Snyder made a decent film. He went a different way but managed to still visually amaze us. For the most part, I loved Ben Affleck's portrayal of Batman. From the intro until the end, It was amazing. Gal Gadot was also great. The casting was good for the most part and Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL did great on the score.
The bad, I felt that the storyline was random and rushed to introduce the Justice League. I didn't really enjoy Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. He didn't feel too intimidating and was kind of weird. Also, Henry Cavill's Superman was good but dull and confusing.
My favorite part was the fight between Batman and Superman because I just assumed Superman would just beat Batman (which almost happened), but Batman got ahold of some Kryptonite and turned the tables around against Superman. I loved that scene.
8/10
Power: Exactly How We Planned (2020)
I would give it a 0 if I could
I've been watching this show since the beginning and this is the ending we got? You leaked your own show and it was so terrible. You had 2 weeks to atleast switch it up because you guys "filmed multiple endings" but did nothing. This could have been so much better and I am devastated.
The Accountant (2016)
The Accountant is A well Deserved 10/10!
When I watched The Accountant the first couple of times, I originally rated it a 9. Now, after like my 5th watch, I believe this movie deserves a 10.
Everything from the storyline to the acting and the scenery is amazing. The movie made me feel happy, sad, worried, mad, enlightened, great full, and joyful. I loved how the creators gave Christian Wolff a disability, it makes him so original. Although his disability comes with challenges, he also used it to his advantage which helped him in both his accounting and hitman careers. Although his disability makes him seem awkward and different, it's so inspirational how it gives him an urgency to accomplish his tasks and focus on whatever he's working on. No drugs, just a very intelligent man.
All of the actors and actresses deserving a standing ovation because everyone was so convincing. They gave the audience a chance to dig deeper into their personal lives so we could see a glimpse of how they got to where they were.
In a way, it sort of seem Shakespearean. I love how they introduced his brother, Brax. At first, I thought he vanished but when he confronted the stockbroker, he immediately caught my attention. Brax's crew were solid and it showed how powerful he was. The build up to their final fight was incredible. The fight was emotional because you could see in Christian's face that he was wrong for going to his mother's funeral and that he didn't really want to fight his younger brother. But, there was no escaping, he had to fight him.
The Accountant was phenomenal and Honestly, I'm going to school for accounting which enhances my viewing because I learned some things from this movie.
The Lion King (2019)
Wonderful Movie
As a fan of the original Lion King, this live-action one is just as good. Obviously this movie wasn't original but it was beautiful. Everything from the adaptations, storyline, & soundtrack were amazing. I will most definitely be getting this on 4K & Blu-Ray to watch without distractions.
Power (2014)
An Absolutely Stunning and Spectacular Show! 11/10
If you're into crime, drama, humor, and backstabbing, you're in for a treat. Power is an amazing show that grows with the seasons. This is personally my favorite show because of the creativity and the ability to be real! This show provides diversity, severe violence, and a fabulous setting in New York City. Nice sex scenes too lol. In addition, the use of amazing soundtracks compliments every scene, respectively. I would rate Power an 11/10 if I could. Courtney Kemp, Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson were perfect in bringing this story to Starz and allowing the audience to really connect with the characters.
