Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
Thank Odin for Kiwis
Marvel fan and comic nerd that seriously enjoyed this movie. Went to see it while I was out of the country and had several people all different nationalities laughing audibly during the movie. It was NOT what you expect of a Thor movie but I felt it was an exciting change that took advantage of the ridiculous and strange thing that Thor sees and says. Some of the jokes were cringy, but most were casually funny. When I marathon the Marvel films I'm going to look forward to having this one have its turn. I would love to see at least one more movie like this one and hope other movies dont take themselves too seriously, we are talking about comic source material I dont want to see too much edgy super hero or too much dancing clown, this was a nice middle.
Beyond Skyline (2017)
I watched it but I couldnt tell you much about it.
I know that it was visually appealing and had some cool effects and action but I felt that the story was weak and character development was generic or just not there. I like that the aliens were harvesting brains, it felt like a little classic touch. The fact that they snuck in a giant mecha fight was pretty cool but lame for depth. If you like alien and action stuff, give it a watch. The characters were still likable even with their limited development. They show some bloopers at the end and its pretty great
Murder on the Orient Express (2017)
Enjoyable, not unlike chocolate
I want to start with saying that I am a Christi fan and a Poirot fan and have watch the classic movies and tv show. I really wanted to love this new adaptation and found that while its not close to a favorite I did manage to enjoy it. I did wonder why they chose to make it and would have rather seen a different story used. I think that this movie is aimed at drawing new viewers instead of pleasing old ones. Maybe I am easy to please but I recommend giving the movie a watch, and if you enjoy the story to try the classics if you are new to them.
A Question of Faith (2017)
Barely worth watching even if you are very christian
Poor acting and a bad script help make this a movie you wont mind missing. If you are one of the many American Christians than you can probably watch this without feeling like you wasted your day. Everyone else should probably look elsewhere for their film of the evening. Considering that this movie has a very clear and specific demographic that has low standards, I feel the movie fails to even succeed at this one goal. Sorry if any Christians are insulted by this but this brainwashing film wasnt even good as satire in other groups.
