Superman/Doomsday (2007 Video)
7/10
Good for what it is.
18 September 2007
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was good or maybe great for what it is, but it felt short changed. The fight between doomsday was WOW! The funeral was GREAT! The resurrection was good, but I was expecting to see Superman return from the afterlife the way it was depicted in the comics. They also should have showed Doomsday demolish JLA. I understand this is a'Superman only' story, but it would have only taken 5 minutes for Doomsday to demolish JLA. That would have amplified Doomsday more and the rest of the 65 minutes could be focus on Superman! Jimmy could have said: "My God Lois, Doomsday defeats JLA in 5 minutes! How on Earth will Superman defeat him!" In the comics there was four characters who appear to replace Superman. In the movie there is only one...a clone. Note in the comics the clone is actually the cyborg, but I guess the filmmakers wanted to change that too. All in all, a very fun movie. This movie is loosely inspired by the Death and Resurrection graphic novels. If you can accept that, then you'll enjoy it. I admit...I did.

Blade: The Series sucks!
29 January 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I am a huge Blade fan. For one, I love Blade because he's a Black hero (or anti-hero). We don't have any Black superheros on television and very few in the movies, so this is a huge plus. Second, Blade is a bad ass character who doesn't take sh*t, drinks blood, and has all the powers of a vampire without any of their weakness! That's just cool! I love vampires, monsters, martial arts, sci-fi, and all that stuff. I love the first two Blade movies and tolerated the third. So why does the series sucks? Well first let me say that I for one am all for a Blade series. I think it could be hot like Buffy and Angel. And having it on cable is even better, because you can have more blood and violence.

So again, why does the series sucks?! Two reason the series sucks for me and after reading the other comments on this board, its safe to say people are in agreement...

"Sticky Fingaz" is not right for the role of Blade. He's not a great actor and watching him every week just brought the show down for me. And yes, I've watched the series in the beginning hoping it would get better. It DIDN'T! The fights were weak. I know it's a series and the producers want to give Blade challenges. But that doesn't mean Blade should get his ass whipped by vampire henchmen! Vampire bosses, yes. No name henchmen, no. Blade should be able to whip they butts without breaking a sweat. In the show he usually needs help. Come on! Suggestion, have Blade whip the no name vampire henchmen one-two-three and let Marcus top people give Blade a hard time. I can see that. Early in the show there was a vampire who Marcus' people drugged to make him stronger. That character should have been Blade's challenge. But what do the writers do? They kill off the character in episode three or four. And it wasn't even Blade who killed him. Really awful.

The first season needed A LOT of work. If they are to bring the show back for a second season, they should first replace Stinky Fingaz with someone like Michael Jai White maybe? Or someone who can act and fight. Don't get me wrong, Stinky Fingaz has some appeal but not as Blade. It's like he's trying too hard and it sucks. The other characters are fine. Stinky Fingaz has to go.

Next and most importantly, the fights scenes with Blade has to be turned up. Blade should not be getting his ass kicked like this. I'm sorry, it just doesn't work for the character. Maybe they should get the people who worked on Buffy and Angel to come on board and help produce the show.

Nuff said.

Pretty F**cking Cool
19 October 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I loved this movie. It had me out right laughing and I have to admit it made me jump once or twice, especially the ending. I think this was a great Project Greenlight film, better than the first two and should have gotten a wide theatrical release with a big promotional campaign. The movie was only release in theaters two weeks before it's DVD release? And it only had midnight screenings? That's messed up. This film would of did GREAT if released wide with a traditional wide screen promotional campaign. I can only assume that the studio was afraid that the movie would embarrass them or just wanted to turn a quick profit by skipping the expensive wide theatrical release and going straight to DVD. Whatever the reason, this movie was just plan fun, non stop action, with an original directing style.

It was the directing style that sets this movie apart, because it easily could've been a tired run-of-the-mill horror flick with a bunch of strangers trapped in a single place getting attacked. But, the style gave this movie so much original flavor, it took a tired storyline and made it FUN! I personally loved how each character was introduced with each one of their so-called "life expectancies" turning out false. Example:

THIS IS A SPOILER: A cool bad ass dude enters the bar, shotgun in hand, bloody as hell, and is introduction as: Name: Hero, Job: Kicking Ass, Life Expectancy: Pretty F**king good. And then guess who dies first? The way it's put together just makes you laugh out loud, but is still cool and shocking!

This is a must see for horror fans who love these types of movie with a new spin. I rented it and loved it so much I plan to buy it.

10 STARS!

Pretty Damn Good and Scary!
7 June 2006
I saw this movie at the Tribeca Film Festival and I have to say, I was blown away. The special effects are great! The performances are decent (you don't need academy award-winning performances for a horror flick) and overall it's just a fun movie to watch. I hope it gets a theatrical release because it's such a cool and scary movie to see in the theaters. If it is released on DVD I will definitely buy it. It's cool with an original story hook and original and climatic ending. There are clichés, but hey, what horror movie doesn't have'em.

You like horror. This movie is a must. The only thing I would recommend to the producers to change is the title - Gravedancers. It's just me, but I would like a scarier title for a movie like this.

Other than that, it's a must see!

Not a bad home movie
24 February 2006
I went to the video store and found all the latest movies were out. And the movies that were there, I've seen. But I wanted to see a movie. SoI thumbed through the older movies and found Trois 2.

I wasn't expecting much, since I never held of the movie. But I have to say I thought it was very good...thanks a lot to the sexual content. The sex in this movie was an eye full. They held no punches. The story is okay. The twist at the end was nice! Nice as in very very good.

In short, this is an entertaining and simulating movie. This is a sequel. I never saw the original. I plan to check it out and or buy both.
