I found the film worthwhile, to a point. However, about 3/4 of the way thru part one, I pretty much lost interest. It appears to me that King got some inspiration from the famous Winchester Mystery House in No.Ca. It is a big old Victorian home which was never competed. Has rooms, staircases, widow walks, and doors, etc etc all leading no where. The builder (who was a wealthy widow ) kept adding on to the place, because a psychic told her she would continue living as long as the house remained unfinished. The movie title could have been inspired by the name of Kanes' sled "Rosebud" in the Welles classic "Citizen Kane". Or from Red Rose tea maybe? No problem there; authors get inspiration from many sources. The acting was okay. I really enjoyed David Duke's Professor Carl, and am sorry that he died at such a young age. He was a fine actor.Another favorite was Judith Lee Ivey, as the "too Christian" Cathy Kramer. She had much to add; her part development was given short shrift, unfortunately. She mentioned having tried a Ouija board, but as a devout Christian she would never have gone near one. I have in the past read many of King's books. He can do better!

Loved the Movie!

Just a truly fine film. Made me cry, and I rarely cry on seeing a movie. I intend to get a copy of it. Few movies have touched me as much. Daily, we are exposed to ever more sex and violence in the media, but the accent found here is love. And forgiveness. And, of course, racial harmony. If it "exploited" our ability to care for others and to respect life, so much the better. This is a movie for people of all ages. The animal wranglers did an outstanding job, ditto the actors. Have not seen the dog who played Fluke before; wonder if he is still in the acting business.Would be glad to see more films of similar ilk, but I have not run across many like this.
