The Munsters (2022)
Rubbish
Why? Embarrassing and insulting to the viewer. It's easy to see why Universal didn't release this theatrically. Horribly "acted" and directed. Surprise! Surprise! Rob Zombie casts his no-talent wife as Lilly Munster. Yvonne DeCarlo is shaking her fist from neons. This makes me relieved that Zombie is not directing the Groucho Marx movie. Hopefully this will finally kill his film career and put us out of our misery (I doubt it). I'm going to hate myself for a while after watching this. Do yourselves a favor and watch the original series. Let's hope Tim Burton's upcoming take on Wednesday Addams is better. Darn! Darn! Darn! Darn!
The Mask of Zorro (1998)
A Well-made Spit in the Eye
Wonderfully directed and incredible swordsmanship and stunts. Antonio Banderas makes a good Zorro. Unfortunately, some of the other major roles are horribly miscast. A disappointing whitewash of the legend of Zorro and the real-life Joaquin Murrieta.
The Rental (2020)
Yikes
A movie about horrible people who rent a vacation house from other horrible people. No one to root for here, folks.
Toon in with Me (2021)
Me-TV Adds Cartoons!
The host and characters are annoying and clueless. Goldie is the worst. Even my 5-year old told me she didn't like them. They could easily be taken out to make room for another cartoon. Not surprisingly, the cartoons are edited. But I'm glad someone is showing these classic cartoons on television.
This Is Your Life: Jimmy Gleason (1958)
A Rare Glimpse
I have always had mixed feelings about this show. But what it does offer is a rare glimpse into legendary stars that we never got to see off movie screens. Jimmy Gleason, one of the greatest character actors, comes off as sweet and sincere. The real deal. If this episode doesn't bring a tear to your eye, I don't know what will. It's too bad Ralph Edwards Productions hasn't released these on DVD or Blu-Ray. I would buy them.
The Turning (2020)
Yikes
A waste of talent and time. Floria Sigismondi is usually a great director.
