Fury (2014)
Proper War Movie "Fury"
This is straight up proper war movie, not a documentary.
Good v evil (maybe)
Last year off the war and they just want to stay alive .
Exhilarating realistic action schemes with top class performances from Brad Pitt "wardaddy" and his crew. It pulls no punches and is quite gruesome but realistic in parts.
These American tanks were woefully undergunned so the brave crews deserve our admiration, I can't imagine what it must have been like living in one.
Ok the final battle might not stand to scrutiny but nevertheless it's a great WW2 action movie.
Apparently some of it is based on the life of actor Audie Murphy.
The Terminal List (2022)
Excellent grown up thriller
Really enjoyed this, great performance from Chris Pratt, it's a superior thriller.
But why is it filmed in such a dark mode, virtually every scene is difficult to distinguish due to the dreadful lighting.
This modern trend is ridiculous and spoils a great series.
Hornblower: The Examination for Lieutenant (1998)
Plimsoll Line Goof
Pretty sure the Plimsoll Line wasn't invented until 1875, so I was pretty surprised to see it near the stem of the Indefatigable.!! Someone didn't have musch attention to detail
The Capture (2019)
Detail
So he did a tour of Iraq (Op Telic) but isn't wearing an Iraq War medal on his uniform and he also got a Mention in Despatches (MID) for Afghanistan (Op Herrick) but wasn't wearing the Oak leaf cluster on his medal !! It's all in the detail
Dunkirk (2017)
Good honest film....but
Loved this film and paid tribute to real heroes.
Just a couple of irritating things. The warships used were not British and it was obvious.
The worst picky issue for me were the Container Cranes in the background when the docks of Dunkirk were shown.
Containers weren't invented until late 50s early 60s and these cranes quite a while after !!!
