Drake & Josh (2004)
Hug me, brotha!
Oh man, what can I say about this show?
It simply was my favorite go-to show when I was a kid, and now that I've rewatched it... IT GOT EVEN BETTER!
Come on, it is almost impossible not to laugh out loud as hard as you can every each 5 minutes.
Of course the filmography and plot aren't the most revolutionary you'll see, but it is certainly one of the funniest TV series Nickelodeon has ever made, and one of the best sitcoms among all. It is a shame it ended so fast, but at least we got a happy ending and loads of laughter.
Damn, I miss the old days watching Drake & Josh!
Modo Avião (2020)
Surely a teen movie, but one that does the job!
The movie's whole meaning is about how this new generation is dealing with social media, and how elderly people see this life of being connected all the time. I think it is a important subject, and it surely caught the audience's attention, since it is the most watched Netflix's non-english movie!!!
The best thing this movie did was to choose those actors. Larissa Manoela is one of the biggest brazilian pop-stars (and a really gentle and humble one), meanwhile Erasmo Carlos is a symbol of the past generations as a brazilian rock idol. Therefore, I think the characters go well with there own personalities and this improved their performance even more.
Of course, the whole script was predictable, sometimes a bit cliche, but who does not like some cliche sometimes? Besides, it is obviously made for teens, and this kind of audience enjoys this type of production very well.
Anyway, the movie had an interesting plot, and is debatable, well-produced (for brazilian standards), and VERY entertaining for sure. I would recommend for any kid to watch (but also my gradma).
Tim Maia (2014)
A impeccable portrait of a mad (in all possible contexts) singer
Tim Maia was one of the best singer Brazil's ever known, and when you watch this movie you will know why.
Babu Santana and Robson Nunes nailed the job, and really portrayed Tim as he was: a explosive, yet sensible, person.
The soundtrack is of course the best part, since the movie does not leave any of Maia's best records behind, and it also explains a lot about how and when they were written.
Finally, the only thing I didn't really like was how some controversial moments were treated, like when he breaks up with Roberto Carlos. I thought they were either silly or maybe untruthful (according to Roberto himself).
Anyway, the movie is incredible and should be more recognized. Especially amongst brazilian people!
