Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
Truly an epic masterpiece! Nearly flawless.
I went into the theater expecting a well made film by the Russos (given their credibility shown by Winter Soldier and Civil War), at the same time not expecting too much, as the film would be full of characters and I thought it wouldn't be able balance two things, 1) serve justice to each character (particularly Thanos, as comic book readers like me (To name some, Infinity Gauntlet, Infinity, Thanos (2017) and many more comics very well know the mad titan, but most of the mainstream audience doesn't.) and 2) adhere to the plot at the same time. And oh, I thought unlike the previous MCU flicks, this would be weighed down by the seriousness of the plot to allow any humor.
Boy, was I wrong.
SPOILER FREE REVIEW FOR THE FIRST PART.
This movie is a total masterpiece. Balancing humor at the right moments and the seriousness near perfectly (If this is a spoiler : Just like how Thanos would like it, balance), and providing enough background story to the character of the Mad Titan, this is, in some ways, truly a Thanos movie. You can actually sympathize with the character in a few moments. The movie totally lives up to the hype. All credit to the Russos and the wonderful cast. A truly intimidating villain, you'll actually forget that the MCU had some terrible villians. The quest for the Infinity Stones isn't just total destruction for Thanos, it carries more meaning to him. Our heroes face a threat they have never even imagined, and the tie-in after Civil War is wonderfully portrayed. Each character has an arc that is perfectly balanced along with the plot. You are probably wondering what they'll do against an OP villian. So go watch the movie.
The movie ends on a cliffhanger that'll make you want to stay in your seats until Avengers 4 comes out, or make you wish you had Doc Strange's time stone with you, so you could turn time. And oh, there's a post credits scene, that subtly ties into what's coming next and A4.
PART TWO : CONTAINS SPOILERS, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.
STRICTLY FOR PEOPLE WHO'VE WATCHED THE MOVIE. IF YOU HAVEN'T, AND YOU COME ACROSS THE FOLLOWING SPOILERS, IT WILL BE YOUR OWN FAULT THAT THE MOVIE WAS RUINED. SO PLEASE, GO WATCH THE MOVIE.

BEWARE, YOU WERE WARNED.
Banner is truly terrified by Thanos, as you can see in many parts of the movie, due to their encounter in the very first phase in the movie, where Thanos totally dominates the Hulk which laters clearly shows itself as the Hulk's fear of Thanos and the Hulk not taking over. Loki deserved the completion of his character arc, by meeting his death at the hands of Thanos, paying for his betrayal and failure, though Loki's last moments were akin to a hero, i.e, trying to protect Thor. Also loved the throwback to The Avengers, when Loki tells Thanos, that "we have a hulk". Tony Stark's destiny arrived in a true sense : His fear wasn't himself dying, but seeing his fellow teammates and friends dead (Just like it was shown in Age of Ultron) which happens at the end of the movie. Cap is no longer Cap, only Steve Rogers living his life sort of like a nomad in the past 2 years since the Civil War. Gamora's death was unexpected, but you can clearly see a different side to Thanos when he truly loves his daughter, but has to sacrifice her anyway, for bringing balance to the universe, and fulfilling his destiny by obtaining the Soul Stone. Bummer that Hawkeye and Ant-Man aren't in the movie, but I'm sure they'll prove important in Avengers 4. There's also a clever reveal, that of Red Skull being the guardian of the Soul Stone, after his sudden absence due to the tesseract in the First Avenger. The Wakanda and Titan acts are wonderfully portrayed, with each serving a proper impact to the future of the Avengers. Peter Quill's moment was the deciding one, as if they had gotten the Gauntlet, Thanos wouldn't have defeated all of them. The Wakanda fight scenes are so GOOD, they're Civil War's Airport scene x 10. Now, I'll cut to the points I want to make : comic fans will be slightly disappointed to know there's no Lady Death, or Thanos's mad infatuation with her. Instead this version of Thanos is driven by the need for balance in the universe, given the universe's limited resources. In a way, it does seem okay. There's also the dreaded snap, as in the comics, with Thanos wiping away half the universe. The Guardians fade away, and so do many others, Bucky, Falcon, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Nick Fury, Maria Hill, etc etc. Spider-Man's death was very emotional, as you can see Stark's worst fears coming true, with Peter saying "Mr.Stark, I don't want to die", and fading away. The post credits scene shows Fury sending a distress signal to *wait for it* .. Captain Marvel! And with Fury and Hill slowly fading away too. The future of the MCU has never been as uncertain as it is now. One thing's for sure - Avengers 4 will equally blow our minds out. And as for waiting for it, I wish I had the time stone. Then I would fast forward to the future just like Strange did with 14,000,205 futures.
