Get Out (2017)
pretty good
First of all, i think its reasonable to mention that im white, and i didn't really think it was scary at all (and im terrible with horror usually). however, it sure as hell isnt the comedy some people make it out to be either. this is also one of those things that are each to their own though, so others may find it way more terriying than i did, which i understand.
with that out of the way, i really liked the script, and i thought the concept was incredibly interesting. its one of the most original horror films ive seen in a long while, and the acting was incredible. the editing was great too, although i remember it defintly followed a specific (over exaggerated? but only in a good way) style of acting, which i applaud them for honestly. the reason i didnt really think much of this movie, honestly just comes down to preference.
conclusion: not everyones cup of tea, not really mine either, but i'd still reccomend it, either way its definitely entertaining.
Evil Bong 2: King Bong (2009)
absolutly terrible movie
I just finished this and its without a doubt one of the worst movies i've ever seen, objectively. the humor is tasteless, the plot is bland, and there is a single beyond subpar actor or actress in this entire movie. on top of that, its blatantly fatphobic, homophobic and sexist.
however with all of that out of the way, some lines were kinda funny and it was entertaining in its own weird way. like in a way, you gotta watch this with friends kinda way. just laugh about it. just for that ill bump it up a notch and give it a 2 instead of 1. not sure id reccomend it, thats a decision to make yourself.
Now You See Me (2013)
couldn't even force myself to finish it
The premise seems amazing, and there truly is a lot to be uncovered there, however the way its written is incredibly, incredibly confusing, and you don't really get attached to any characters enough to care for them. the dialogue was messy, and never truly explained what was truly going on (and not in the good way these kinda movies are supposed to do). that's all i have to say for now.
OMG: Oh My God! (2012)
absolutely amazing
Let me start this off by saying, i'm not a big fan of bollywood movies. not because i dislike them, they're just not my thing and i haven't seen a lot (although i'm planning to do so in the future). but this movie blew me away. it's been a long time since a movie left THIS much of an impact on me, especially on a religious level.
i saw it maaybe half a year ago, and i still remember being absolutely stunned by the court scenes. it's such a wonderful movie concept, and while i wouldnt call this one of my favorite movies (due to it being the kind of movie i cant imagine rewatching a lot), it is definitly one of the best movies i have ever seen. period.
