Interface (2022)
Poor Acting
It has some interesting ideas, but the terrible acting is a distraction. At first I thought it was on purpose, but it never let up.
Character actions are sometimes illogical because the plot needed it. Motives were never clear and would abruptly change.
It was deliberately confusing at first, which I don't necessarily mind, but the confusion had nothing to do with time travel or alternate realities or any other accepted sci fi reason. It didn't add to the story.
Most of the sci fi was "here's this thing we need and it works because we said so."
It had some interesting elements but felt like a half-hearted effort. The last half hour I just wanted to be done.
Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams (2002)
Tedious and over-the-top silliness
Dialogue is often cringey, plot is unoriginal, and characters are mostly ridiculously cartoonish. The heavy use of CGI is a poor substitute for plot and quickly gets boring. The charm and humor of the first film is lacking here.
