A Christmas Spark (2022)
A Wasted Opportunity...
Jane Seymour is such an ageless beauty. While great to see her reuntine with her Dr Quinn co-star Joe Lando, their talents are completely wasted in this Christmas romcom. I definetely had a lot higher hopes but it ended up just being another average Lifetime movie where anyone could have played the lead actors. The story is very dull and lacklustre making this instantly forgetable after watching it. I feel like a jerk for slating this since as I write this review, nobody else has reviewed it and I'm sure people within the film will read this. However, I'm just being honest. I just wished their was more to this movie and some originality.
Grimcutty (2022)
Worst movie ever made by major streaming service!!
I honestly don't know how something so bad could be produced by Hulu. I tried my best but had to quit 40 minutes in. The acting is absolutely horrendous and just completely distracts from the entire movie and makes it unwatchable. It's something you'd expect from people with no acting experience in a student project.
The poor acting aside, as a viewer you get immediately thrown right in to the deep end. No story, no character build. It's so poorly written you just end up not caring about anything that is going on. Eventually you'll just turn this garbage off like I did.
My advice is to avoid this at all cost. Like I said in the title of this review -- You can't find a worse movie produced by a major streaming service than this!
Run Hide Fight (2020)
Very confused and suspicious by these rave reviews!
I feel compelled to review this movie because of this suspicious 8.0+ rating with over 1000+ votes. I'm a big fan of Thomas Jane (even though he unfortunately has very little screen time in this movie, which sucked). After watching this I'm very confused. It was really just an average one-time watch school shooting action/movie. You never really care for any of the characters. There is nothing spectacular or extraordinary about it. Pretty dumb if anything. Could have been shortened by 15 or so minutes. Some parts felt a little tedious and repetitive.
What am I missing?
Holiday Date (2019)
Best stand out among otherwise very ordinary Hallmark Christmas Movies!
Usually all Hallmark Christmas movies follow the same very generic love story plot. Don't get me wrong, the plot for this one follows that same trend too. However, there is just more personality and charisma to this movie and it's a really fun watch. The best Hallmark Christmas movie I have seen to date (and I've seen a lot). It's more of a comedy and the Dad in this movie completely steals the show!
I'm Thinking of Ending Things (2020)
Pointless. Boring. Long
Netflix really disappointed me with this release. I've heard this movie was based on book. I've never read it, and perhaps I would have actually understood some of it if I had. I would have given this movie 1 star but the only redeeming quality was the scenery. The snowy winter gave it a eerie atmosphere. However the plot (if there is one) and the characters are just a dreadful watch. Like others have stated, the movies tries to be all arty & creative but leaves you infuriated because you really have no idea what you are watching. A note to the Director - don't over complicate plot! it's not clever or edgy. Just stupid!
Follow Me (2020)
Gives you them chilling hostel vibes!
This was far more chilling, captivating, creepy and scary than the higher budget "Escape Room" that came out 2019. It's a total throwback to the old school Hostel movies. The mid-range rating for this I don't understand. One of the better horrors I've watched in a while! Definitely recommend!
The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020)
I just don't get it! Poor sequel!
I made it about 45mins before turning it off. It seemed to lack any substance of a plot and just throws you in the deep leaving the viewer wondering what is going on and why. I enjoyed the first one but for me this sequel was just a big letdown!
Power Book II: Ghost (2020)
Hard to care about a show based on Tariq!
Every episode of Power I just wished they'd kill off Tariq. In the end he became too much of a focal point and made the entire show almost unwatchable.
Now the producers make a whole show around him. Such a fail. Everyone wanted a show about Tommy's new life on the West Coast. One episode in, and it's just flat.....I can't imagine it going past 1 season.
