Stargate SG-1 is and always has been my #1 favorite TV series. It holds a lot of memories for me with my late Grandfather who was also a fan. I didn't get the chance to watch this film when it first came out for many reasons. I do however, see this movie and Ark of Truth nice ways to tying off the series instead of leading us with "what if" questions. It was a nice way of tying up everything and getting us to go one more adventure with our favorite characters.
Honestly, I'm not a fan of "back in time" kind of storylines because it's very hard to find a movie that does it correctly without overdoing it. This movie does a good job of showing the consequences of time travel and how it's not an automatic answer of "Yes, we must help these people form another timeline." To me this read as a realistic way to how things might be done if something like this were to happen. It was a great film and it's easily becoming a favorite of mine.
