Better than the first in some ways
16 September 2019
Love and being good always triumphs, although these values don't always work in the real world they work beautifully in Lage Raho Munna Bhai. Chemistry between the leads is great, Sanjay Dutt, Vidya Balan, Asrad Warsi, and Boman Irani knock it out or the park and the lesson to be a good person and triumph is endearingly told. Songs are better than the first movie IMHO. Worth the watch

Live, laugh, love

Hilarious movie filled with tons of emotional moments, Sunil Dutt and Asrad Warsi carry this movie to show compassion and love should never be forgotten. Never knew it was Boman Irani's first movie but he's a household name for a reason, he is absolutely perfect in his role and I'm so happy they gave him a chance to shine. Good songs. Worth a watch

Classic unlike any other

Hilarious, relatable, and actually deeper in it's relationships than it ever should have been. Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, and Paresh Rawal have perfect chemistry in this movie. I end up quoting it weekly, songs aren't the best but the main focus is comedy and the movie shines. Worth a watch

Worth every minute

Looking for a story filled with love and sacrifice? Look no further. Kal Ho Na Ho is ask about the happiness and sadness that comes with love and it tells it's story beautifully. SRK, Jaya, Preeti, and Saif Ali all do a fantastic job showing different aspects of grief, hope, love, and growth. Yeah SRK is over the top, there's the occasional odd moment but this movie is about bringing people together with love, so worth a watch. Songs alone are masterpieces

The Legend of Korra (2012–2014)

Rocky start, strong end

First season is good Second season is subpar Third and fourth season are as good as ATLA for the most part

This sequel to the beloved original animated series is all about the new team Avatar and is set 70 years following ATLA. The first season is an introductory season, it's alright. Had some really good parts and some not. The second season I personally didn't enjoy much. The two episodes in the middle depicting the original Avatar 'Wan' were fantastic and are must sees. Season two does have some very large "consequences that are really awesome" in season 3, (no spoilers) but the villains are scary and so dope. Season 3 really hooked me in and got this show up to the original series' quality. Season 4 was a little slow and tense my first time, I really appreciate it more now. It's all tension building to war and it finally breaks at the end. They wrap up the whole story well and introduce new concepts and expand on some old ones. Metal bending is a both cool and op in this show. Lava bending and the additional air bending powers (won't spoil it) are really cool too. Korra has great chemistry with Mako, Bolin, and Asami (especially Asami). Tenzin is a great father figure for Korra and there's a few times Aang's children and grandchildren really remind you of why he was so great. A lot of people don't like this show because the "sequel always has to be worse". It's not always as good as ATLA but it's great in its own way and it's worth the watch

Jewel Thief (1967)

Amazing!
4 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Movie opens with a robbery heist and some characters introductions, it then quickly introduces the main plot point - the jewel thief Amar has an uncanny resemblance to the lead Vinay. The movie eventually reveals the mastermind behind everything was Ashok Kumar, who manipulated everyone around Vinay to convince him there was another with his face. It's great how they made this movie so it plants the idea and Vinay's head and ours. When they discuss the jewel thief they usually cut to one of his men, or Vinay. The characters are all convinced there is someone else with his face and we never even get close until Vinay does. The suspense is through the roof and Ashok Kumar executes his charade masterfully, always showing up right before someone else mistakes Vinay and Amar and what follows. Dev Anand is great also. The final song in front of actual Monarchs is truly something to behold and is something that makes this movie treasurable. There's many limitations faced by 1960s India and instead of being hindered by it, they stretched it to grow Indian films a few steps forward. There aren't many movies like Jewel Thief, worth the watch

Mid season 3 (Jan 2019)
4 January 2019
This show is so good! Michael Shur got it right again! It starts a little odd but it gets better every episode. The fantasy/supernatural aspect (what would you even call it?) Is well executed and allows for some good set ups. I don't binge this show, it's story doesn't kick off for a few episodes (great once it does) I just find it entertaining and a couple episodes is what I mostly end up watching. So far it's flashbacks and timelines haven't gotten annoying but season 3 is setting up a lot of big things and I'm excited to see what they do with it! It's enjoyable and hilarious! Worth the watch

Holy what!

Warning: Spoilers
Vidya Balan is an absolute killer! She sells her story to everyone who will listen and uses her pregnancy to get what she wants. It seems easy enough until you find out she's faking it all and is hunting the man she's been talking about. I actually enjoyed it more the second time through. You start to realize she doesn't have morning sickness, doesn't visit a doctor, but she does get her way every time. I absolutely love when a movie gets me with a crazy good plot twist I can see coming, it's strangely satisfying to not be the one getting fooled. Vidya Balan is an absolute champ, she sells a vulnerable girl standing up for herself perfectly. There's subtle moments where you're shown characters saying more with their actions than with words. The pacing is good, it's set up well, and ends with such a good twist. It's a Kahaani you won't forget

Watch it twice
3 January 2019
No spoilers, this movie runs from beginning to middle and end to middle at the same time, once you piece it together you really appreciate the way you get there. It's a breath of fresh air in the way it tells the story and does a lot right. Christopher Nolan pushes himself to think differently and use the tools at his disposal to convey a unique story. Give it a watch, then again and holy crap it was there the whole time

How dare they
3 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Who the hell gave them permission to make the most ridiculous, cliche movie ever and make it iconic in its own prefect way. This movie is cheesy between every line but there's an epic being told and it's what Bollywood does right. Audiences want to see amazing sets and songs. They want to see ridiculous cliches and jokes people who have been watching movies love. Did you see the freaking awards show in this movie with DHOOM 4?! The Manoj Kumar joke? Mind it?! It's freaking priceless! It's a repeat and copy of everything that's ever come out in Bollywood but it's own iconic thing. The story follows Karz and any similar tale but it's fun the entire way The first half of the story is significantly stronger than the second but it's all in all a great time- you'll love how ridiculous it is and roll your eyes every now and again but It's so memorable

One of the best!
3 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Been watching this movie again and again since I was a kid. The movie doesn't fully follow the book but it's its own great story. There's a reason people know a ripple in the water means something big is coming. There's a reason you can hum the theme to this movie anytime. You just remember every step of this movie from the mosquito with the dino blood to the raptor calls in the kitchen as they hunt for kids. The sequels are up to you to decide if you like them, but this first one is a masterpiece.

Show don't tell
3 January 2019
There's a rarity in films today, show don't tell. So many movies feel the need to dump exposition and have characters react. Instead Barfi! is forced to show and not tell by giving the two leads maybe 4 words between them. Everything from the start to end is shown in the way characters act, interact, and react to each other. Music, art, and great acting tell the story, as ridiculous as it is, but it leads to some moments that just hit home. It's something to sit back and appreciate the work that goes into the shot you're watching but this movie does it so often, you can see the care that went into it. Worth a watch

Can't say what anyone else already hasn't. A cartoon meant for kids became one of the best series ever created. Amazing storytelling, characters, and animation. You'll laugh, cry, and cheer. 10/10 would watch again and again

Storytelling +++
22 July 2018
There was a time when movie makers treated their audience with respect and maturity, they took time to tell a story and really flesh out their characters; this movie does that and so much more. This movie follows the "show don't tell" mentality decently well and ending will really hit home. The power of choices, relationships, and the story's unique take on aliens coming to Earth are all fresh and well executed. You'll love this movie for the emotion it invokes, storytelling, and VFX (out of this world, pun intended). Worth the watch

Story: ok, sorta felt all the stuff with the original Wasp and her powers was rushed and left something desired Comedy: good, obviously Michael Peña is great Action: cleaner than the original and good Overall: just another Marvel movie, a little stale, but entertaining

When it counts
22 July 2018
USA did something really unique with this procedural buddy cop show, they made it sincere. Something one Elizabeth says about Neil really carries over the whole show, "when it counts": this show is cheesy, funny, and really hits its important points well. There are moments when the show deals with the consequences of actions and the emotion of characters that are handled so well! There is sincerity and a real conversation that happens between characters when needed and the show really approaches these situations with maturity (even if its premise is ridiculous) Along with the over the top crimes, ridiculous inaccuracies, and extremely patriotic lead FBI agent there's tons of comedy, creativity, and a good overall story in which we see growth in most of main and supporting cast Neil (Matt Bomer) is perfect in his role and along with Peter Burke (Tim Dekay), another excellent role, is a ton of fun to watch and has lots of chemistry with the entire cast Mozzie is going to be your favorite character, Elizabeth is the perfect wife (a little too perfect and understanding at times), and Jones and Diana do a great job supporting the weekly and season wide stories You'll laugh, feel for the characters, and think "that's the most ridiculously cheesy shit ever, but I loved it"
