Journey to Bethlehem (2023)
Saddening
I went to see this movie and was one of only 3 in the cinema. After seeing the movie, I now see that it's pretty bad and maybe others had seen some reviews of it and knew not to bother.
Mary was portrayed as a rebellious teen who wanted to be a teacher and get married only when she found love.
Joseph was portrayed as a man that would flirt with a woman who told him she was betrothed while being betrothed himself.
Gabriel was portrayed initially as a nervous angel who needed to practice what he was to say to Mary.
The 3 magi were portrayed like they were the 3 stooges.
There was a disclaimer at the end saying that they used creative license while sticking to the story. It seemed more fiction than accurate and that was insulting to me. I don't recommend this movie.
Destination Fear (2019)
History good, screaming bad
The only good thing about this show is the little bit of history about the places they investigate. It really is a tiny amount of information for the places they visit.
The screaming and running constantly really ruins the show. Exactly what do they think they're doing? You'd think there'd be a level of getting use to little sounds. Most of the time we hear pretty much nothing but they're overreacting is insane. Repeating (yelling) every word they hear on their technology is just annoying.
There's no reason for their visits. They're not trying to solve anything, prove paranormal existence or anything. It's a show about watching them scream. They're not overcoming fear, they're embracing it and exaggerating it.
Overall, the show is annoying and isn't lending any credibility to the genre of paranormal.
The Continental (2023)
Boring
I loved the John Wick films and was hopeful that The Continental would be a great prequel. Sadly this miniseries just didn't impress.
The storyline was boring and too many characters were being introduced that didn't add anything to it. I struggled to keep watching.
I'm about halfway through the second episode and I'm writing this review because it sucks that bad.
I can't see myself bothering with the 3rd episode or any possible second season of this.
For a John Wick fan this is a complete disappointment.
The idea for a prequel is a good one but this attempt didn't do the franchise justice or keep me interested in watching.
Hopefully a better group of writers, producers and actors (Winston with an American accent was a total fail) will have a go at this and draw viewers back in.
Outsiders (2016)
Get rid of Ross Cameron
If the show just had Rowan Dean, it would be a great show. Ross tends to go off on tangents with no real point and requires Rowan to reign him in. I'd rather just skip all that nonsense and just have Rowan hosting on his own. Get rid of Ross Cameron
