OK, maybe it's dumb fun ... and it won't win an Oscar, but it had my whole theater room fully entertained (mostly late teen girls and their moms, it seemed). It delivers the male sexy, for sure, including some moments where there were covering-of-eyes but still with a peek. And Sweeney shines, as well as the Miranda character, in both acting and presence. Some of the close dialogue was a bit stifled or trite. Glen Powell has exercise scenes on the beach, since that worked for "Maverick," right?
I'm a fan of the 1993 "Much Ado about Nothing" film from Kenneth Branagh. Consider checking that out after seeing this. You'll see phrases from Shakespeare's work throughout the film in transitions and in some speech.
Also, the film's made money, Sweeney is one of the Executive Producers, and so good for her. And she's certainly been busy; you'll probably be shown a trailer for "Madame Web," coming soon.
