Craith (2018)
Dark compelling drama
Good acting, strong story, believable characters. Gruesome and dark in parts but this only added to the tension and was neither gratuitous nor dwelt on for too long.
Beautifully filmed in Wales and though I don't speak Welsh (hooray for subtitles) I felt the switches in language gave greater authenticity to the story.
Well worth a watch.
Keeping Faith (2017)
So disappointing - totally unbelievable
The premise of the story is good but Faith is devoid of common sense. Leaves 3 children under 11 in bed while she hares off in the middle of the night to find ...... her missing husband's tie. Finds a fake driving licence and a fake name - doesn't consider telling the police. Gets a bullet in an envelope with an ominous warning and again, doesn't think police need to know. Welsh police force so understaffed the only uniforms involved in the case are the missing
man 's brother in law and a girl who looks about 12.
Faith has deeply annoying habits of throwing herself on the bed/floor to sulk at the ceiling, sitting on the floor to sulk at her phone/wine glass, fluffing her luxurious mane of hair to sulk into space .... Come on love there's better ways to show you're upset and frustrated.
The police chief is a pantomime villain, the nosey neighbour is a comic stereotype.
A self indulgent waste of Eve Myles talent.
