Trying to Hard To be Tough

Reminds me of the Pilot episode, making it seem repetitive. If you have low sugar content in your system then the buck stops here because it's has plenty of eye-candy. The atmosphere has a very tropical nature which will delight Miami Vice fans of yester-year along with enough ego's to keep guns firing and butts well kicked, and can't forget about the beautiful women that turn up the heat with there stunning beauty all done without the help from a Victoria Secrect catalog. When the action happen's, it happens across the board, it keeps all characters involved. The special effects department is where this show shines the best; it doesn't over do it nor under do it. When it comes to the story it side-tracks from the main plot hear and there but it brings it all together in the end, sort of forcing you to bare with it till the end, which is not so bad if your watching from a comfortable location. I can see that this show is still in the process of distinguishing itself from similar shows form the past and with more time I'm sure it will, it's definitely the fastest ride on television without a doubt.

Nikita: Free (2011) Season 1, Episode 12

Getting serious but swaying focus

For the first time or what feels like the first time the story is shifting focus off of Nikita. Event's in previous episodes have tore the picture creating puzzle pieces that are shifting into new areas to create a different picture than what was there before. Revenge is still the main attitude, along with envy and a much needed dose of courage. I can't help but wonder if this is the end of Nikita as she's known because it seems as if she is fishing for a more strategic way of getting back at her former handlers by being somewhat of a mentor to one of there new recruits who's landed a promotion that induces her with previously unallowed access to the known outside world, but that access isn't without it's leash. That leash is the brick wall that stands in the way of Nikita and what she's constantly searching for the right tool to break that invisible bond. Along that path other agencies are gravitating towards Nikita's self-purpose, aware of it or not, but more than likely they are aware because although Niktia was trained to basically disregard typical feelings she's quite patient.

The next generation in comedic performances has spoken

If laughter is the cure to anything then this will cure all your problems. I just love how he puts life messages in a digestible pill.Not since Paul Mooney have I heard anything so funny. Although some might think there's a lot of senseless cursing but all I have to say about that is, act your age ,It goes with the show. Stand-up comedy has been going through a dry spell, especially for me since I don't have premium cable, this was a shot of adrenalin. I 'm writing this now and I've seen this show numerous of times. Anyways,other than Def Poetry Jam, there's plenty of good content hear.

All in all I will be on the look out for the other films in this series because I need my comedy regardless.Fare warning this ain't a game to anyone not familiar with uncensored comedy in the tradition of Eddie Murphys Raw film.

1408 (2007)

Bite sized haunted house

If you're a fan of Poltergeist type movies this will definitely quench your thirst. Jackson and Crussack on screen chemistry are magnificent. It's amazing the thrills that happen in just one room, it reminds me of Night of The Living Dead in how all the action happened in one area. There are times when this movie goes through some unexpected premonitions that kind of mess with the flow of the movie but offers some back story to the main character giving him substance. The supernatural events that take place are classically done in the fashion of Poltergeist. Even though, this movie is quiet original especially in the heavy dialogue scenes between Samuel and Cussacks characters.

Resident Evil: Extinction (2007)

Appealls to fans mostly

Not the best in the series, it sort of plays like the second one but not as much fun because it's not as new. You know now that I think about it's just like the previous Resident evil but in a Mad Max atmosphere. There are some horror flicks this movie borrows from that I don't care to mention. Also there are quiet A few predictable deaths, that didn't bother me because they weren't on screen long enough to care if they lived or not. The movie has some tie-ins to the game series (duh), which as a fan of the game series myself, could have done without. The action parts are definitely the best in the series. If you're new to the movie franchise and want to see a twist on some zombie action this you'll want to check out.

Alien vs. Predator (2004)

Could this be the end of the genera

The feeling I got when I first experienced the Aliens and Predator are gone. Don't get me wrong there are still a pleasure to see on the big screen. But it seems that with every new flick since Resurrection that has either of these characters in them the scare factor diminishes. Its been awhile since seeing the Predators, so it was more pleasing seeing them again. As far as the other characters in this movie , I think there were to many of them. Then again, its always nice seeing humans get slaughtered by the extraterrestrials. There's a cameo with the human explores that was also in a previous films.As far as adding to the story of both the Aliens and the Predator this film does real well, it's like the comic coming to life. So much so I think there could have been a film based on just that backstory.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

This is all you need to see of the new star wars

If it wasn't for Starwars 1 and 2 I would have given a better rating because I would have rather it been a 3 hr prequel. If you are just now getting into the whole Starwars universe then I highly recommend that you start with this one because the story will stay with you far better if you choose to progress through the rest of the story. As a stand alone movie it's very hard to judge because I grew up with Starwars 4, 5, and 6. And singling this one out without tapping into the others is kind of tricky. But if you must know this story tells of young man tore between two paths of training, with mentors on both sides. One he new longer and the father figure in his life and the other a person who's looking for a successor in an powerful galactic empire. The problem lies is there two apposing sides and they are at war and his decision can dictate the possible out come of the war. Also there's a princess who plays a very persuasive part in this who is along side this young man but she carries a secret and will it be powerful enough to keep his heart in the right place.

Pulse (I) (2006)

I feel your pain if you saw this at the theaters

I feel the movie was dragging along making you wait for the good stuff just to abruptly take the spoon out of your mouth once you starting to get a taste for it. The movie plays in reverse in that it waits till the end to get your attention. There were many failed attempts at trying to be suspenseful, I think the casting is at fault for that.Which is kind of strange because I got the feeling that there were some very skilled people working on this film. Really, I think this movie on some levels competes with Spielberg latest sci-fi movies. I think I wouldn't have made that comment if I had seen this movie in the theaters.The special features played a big part in my vote.

First Blood (1982)

Its 2006 and still reference this movie for comparison

There something about this movie I just can't get enough of, that I don't see much of these days.Although this movie isn't heavy on special effects that are heavily used in current action movie it still can compete with them. The movie has a very simple plot, marine returns home after war to find there's another war, minus the artillery.Even though I find the relationship between every character that comes in contact with John J. Rambo unforgettable.I have no experience with being any type of war as depicted in this film but I still feel his emotions and reactions towards the people he returns home to. Although the movie depicts the dark side of a Vietnam Vet returning home from a highly protest war I believe that it will serve as a reminder to those who don't have to go through such misery, that war in general always has its losers on both sides.But in Rambo's case he's justified because of a individuals stereotype.

When a Stranger Calls (2006)

Not a worthy remake, and I haven't even seen the original

Since this movie is a remake I figure that the original must be good or why bother with a remake. Boy let me tell you if I had spent money on this film I would be stealing it back.If this movie had been made around the same time Scream 1 came out it would have went straight to DVD.I mean with remakes like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes you would expect a far more thrilling or horrific movie.Like I said, the timing was off for this film. With hard part being done already (having a script)I figure they could have spent more time on other things like earning some thrill factor points. The attempts at trying to scare were just that, attempts. The only plus I give to this film is the cute girls.

16 Blocks (2006)

Nothing that hasn't been done before

This movie could have had some more suspense to it. It has this mellow feel to it through out the hole movie, I guess because I expected more from Bruce Willis.Mos Def character at first impression I thought was hard to understand for some reason I thought the part didn't fit him nor Bruces character. The movie took to long to make me feel Bruce and Mos characters.Bruces character reminds me of his Die Hard character during retirement.Mos Def could have just used his normal speech, I can tell he's acting.What really killed this movie was it's bus sequence which reminded me of Speed with no suspense.That was a first impression review.

The Pink Panther (2006)

It has its funny moments.

I'm not that familiar with the pink panther, I always thought it was a cartoon from back in the early days of cartoons. What I'm confused about is that this movie has nothing to do with a pink panther or any animal for that fact. But anyways I like Martin's (cant remember last name right now)performance, lately he's been the Jim Carrey for the big screen. As much as I hate say it it seems that Beyonce was kind of thrown in this movie but I ain't complaining, in all honesty she is probably why I seen it in the first place. Mr.Klien I didn't care to much for in this but the guy from The Professional(cant remember his name right now either)along side Martins character gave good chemistry to the film.

But what bother me about the movie as it went on the attempts to make you laugh start to die off as the film progresses.

Spirtual Alien Encounter

I wasn't disappointed at all I found this movie to be very interesting on how it depicts Earth getting invaded by aliens. I grew up on Alien,War of the Worlds,and Independence Day all which clearly show Earth being invaded.You could clearly tell who the aliens where and that there intent was to kill of all human life, extermination style. But the style in this film the aliens are similar to what we know as spirits or souls from another place outside the known universe that are here to take over by replacing human souls with a conscience alien to us, and never really going into detail of why. It's really interesting on how the process unfolds for both species in limbo.
