BBQ Brawl: Welcome to California! (2023)
Not worth watching
Just seeing Anne, Sunny, and Carson's names on the same show should have warned me that this show would be too annoying to watch to the end.
The Food Network really needs to find people with talent that have actually accomplished more than just being buddies with Bobby Flay.
I had hoped this would me more authentic to BBQ when I saw the name Moe Cason,, a true BBQ star.. now that Michael Symon has his own show there is no reason to aggravate myself by watching these actors romp around for laughs.
Food Network has become the "Bobby Flay & Friends Road Show". Please get back to shows that prioritize cooking over B actors finding a quick way to make money.
Can't even watch it for laughs.
Love It or List It (2008)
It's really all about Hilary and her talent.
I think no one on HGTV, Magnolia, and any other home show or network can touch the design talent of Hilary. Even when the budget is low she never skimps on the quality of her designs. Very classy and timeless. And she decorates for the clients, not to showcase herself. (hint, hint.. to so many of the designers on other shows).
Of course, the best parts are the first 10 minutes and the last 10 minutes.
Not too interested in the middle parts of the show. For me it's all about Hilary's talent.
Fixer Upper: Welcome Home (2021)
A very good new show
I really give the Gaines family credit for keeping all that was good in the past, but freshening it up for the new network.
She gets more talented as time goes on, and Chip is smart enough to let her shine. These are real people who happen to be naturally decent and nice without being sappy. They are surrounded by neighbors and friends who are showcased for their own talents.
A terrific new addition to the network.
94th Oscars (2022)
This show made me very sad.
I'm still shaking my head. From the 3 "comic" hosts, to the insulting James Bond tribute, through the farewell to the stars who passed on.. to the lowest moment in Oscar history, (thank you so much Will Smith)... I can only say . Good bye to the Oscars, for good. The pompous, smug Hollywood "performers", sitting there,, holding on to their goodie bags, actually should have been embarrassed to be part of this new
Hollywood community. Time to stick to TCM, and remember the
movies that thrilled us, taught us and entertained us.
Not this fiasco, and the circus stars in it.
Good Sam (2022)
A poor imitation of House
I could not get passed Sophia Bush as a brilliant doctor. Of course, that's not the
only issue. The comparisons to House should have been suspected so centering the
series on Ms. Bush was a bad decision. Actually, one episode was enough to suggest this
series really should never have been made. You can't remake House and have the lead not
be in the league of Hugh Laurie. Very few actors are. This was a dismal attempt to find her
a new series.
Amy Schumer Learns to Cook (2020)
Yikes! So bad I can taste it....
This show is just plain terrible. The supposedly funny banter comes off as stupid and clumsy.
I guess in a pandemic you settle for anything. I can only hope the network does not
run a marathon of this show. I would have to "Chop" it right off .
