Paths of Glory (1957)

Overrated Boring Movie

It's definitely a man's movie, or for those who enjoy war movies (which I hate).

I wanted to watch it because I had heard so many good things about it, mainly from men!!

Unfortunately I do not agree with this assessment. Boring beyond belief. I have never been a Kirk Douglas fan anyway. I do enjoy WWII movies more than WWI movies. I guess I'm not old enough to enjoy WW1 movies, as I am only 70 years old - LOL. Definitely overrated!!

Christian Bale nails it

This is one of Christian Bale's best movies.

I can't believe all the hate it's getting on. This site. I totally loved it!! He is such a wonderful actor, he can tackle anything that he works on. I thought this was a real tearjerker Still trying to process the ending!! Definitely put this movie on your WATCHLIST!! Totally underrated. People criticize the language, but that's how these people talk. You would never guess that Bale is British.

His costar "broother" was wonderful too.

I gave this movie a terrible review after the first time I saw it. Decided to give it a second chance, and am I glad I did. It really was a great movie. I guess I needed the second watching to truly appreciate it. And am I glad I did. I guess I'm so used to seeing these actors as younger men and didn't appreciate the aging process that Martin Scorsese went through. I guess to had too many expectations the first time I saw it!!

I REALLY enjoyed the movie the second time around!!

Sorry for the first review. It really is a great movie!!! I should expect only the best from Martin Scorsese!!!

It's hard for me to accept the fact that Pacino is 80 years old..... and De Niro is not too far behind him. I LOVE these guys and really don't ever want them to retire. I know this is unrealistic. I'm 70 and have been retired for at least 6 years!!

This is an absolutely fabulous transition from play to movie. I would love to watch it over and over again. The acting amazing by some of the best actors of our generation. I wish everyone would watch it. I ordered mine from Netflix, and will probably order it again in the future.
