Grey's Anatomy: Freedom: Part 1 (2008)
Spectacular!
Again, this is an episode that proves how great "Grey's Anatomy" really is. In this season finale, Derek and Meredith continue their research, and this time their patients are a young couple who met while they were in treatment, which makes everything harder. Also, there's one guy stuck in a pile of concrete that surrounds his body and whom the doctors (bailey, hahn, callie, mark, cristina...) rush to save, before it's too late. Rebecca is still acting weird, and Izzie thinks it's better if she gets help - something Alex refuses. It was a great and emotional episode. Everything could end up really badly, but Shonda managed to write a magic ending for all the characters. My favourite scenes were the very last ones, in which Callie and Erica finally make a move, Richard visits Adele, Alex and Izzie talk (well, more than that actually) in the bedroom, George tells Lexie that he's allowed to repeat the exam... and Meredith standing there, waiting for Derek to celebrate their accomplishment (not only in medicine, but also in their personal life). Unlike Season 1 or 2, we don't have any cliff-hanger. It was a double episode filled with drama and medicine where everyone was able to shine. A great ending to an awesome season. Season 5? I bet it's going to be even better...
Six Degrees (2006)
Why Why Why???
Oh man, why? "Six Degrees" is a show about this so called theory that we all are linked by someone. If focus on the lives of a group of people and the consequences of their actions.
When I first heard of this show, it didn't caught my attention at all. It seemed too ordinary, actually. Then, i saw some episodes... and loved it! First of all, the characters. They are all well-written and different from each other. There's a alcohol addicted, a woman whose fiancée cheats on her, a woman who just lost her husband, a driver who has a troubled brother and so on... Unlike what we're used to, most of the characters interact with each other in casualties, like in our daily routines. Great! My favourite ones are Mae, Carlos and Whitney.
Then, the cast. They are all great. Jay Hernandez, from "Hostel", shows here his acting habilities in a more 3d character than his previous work as Paxton. The other ones give great performances too, specially Campbell Scott, who plays Steven and Bridget Moynahan, who plays Whitney.
Well when i came to IMDb, after watching some episodes, i couldn't believe that it got cancelled. Seriously, i can't understand the low ratings.
It's too bad it didn't have more than one season. It would really be a good show to follow!
Ringu (1998)
I can't believe in what i read
"ringu" is, at best, boring. just plain boring.
from what i heard, and since i loved the American remake, i had to watch "ringu". what a waste of my time. i mean... people say that, in comparison, ringu is better than the remake. don't make me laugh, please. the remake has better acting, directing, casting... and it creeped me out! for ringu... i fell asleep watching it.... 3/10, don't give 1 because it was the film who inspired "the ring". trust me, don't waste your time. if you want j-horror, see "shutter" or "a missed call", instead of this.
what a disappointment
The Holiday (2006)
A chick flick - but guys will love it too
First of all, i have to say that i really like Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz, and i really wanted to watch this movie, so, my expectations were huge. Guess what? I spent two amazing hours in the theater. Well, the movie is about two women who have love crushes and decide to switch houses for two weeks, to stay away from their lives. But, in the process, the two eventually fall in love with two strangers. There's something in this movie... Well you really feel good watching it and, fortunately, The Holiday doesn't fall to the clichés of the genre and brings you a magical story, something that makes you want those four to end up together... And something that makes you really want to see how it's all going to end. The acting was great, i think, and the characters were believable. I liked it very much. The movie is well-directed too. So, if you want to spend some great time with your girlfriends, or if you want to watch a very good movie by yourself, go see it. It's really good and... Who doesn't like a romantic comedy once in a while?
