This movie keeps you engaged the whole time, it's a solid story, well acted and directed but not until the very end do you understand the message.
It reminds you how precious life is. How hard is it to stop and appreciate the moments we have ..? It's so very hard. This movie tries to remind you to appreciate the moments that you have, particularly the moments we have with our loved ones. We never know how long we have on this earth or how long our loved ones have.
Sorry to get so philosophical. That's what I got out of it. I hope it was worth sharing.

If you like a great story, great acting and a story that Is not a typical Hollywood, predictable, wrap everything up with a nice bow on it at the end, movie - then this is for you.
Particularly excellent performances from Julianne Nicholson, Emma Roberts snd Zachary Quinto.

Excellent... But for the casting director

Excellent story, acting, directing, but several of us were all thrown at first and then irritated/ distracted by the casting for the later life David and Stephan characters.
Worthington looks more like Wilkinson - round face, small chin. Csokas looks more like Hines - long face, long chin dark hair.
She got it backwards.
How can you not pay attention to these physical characteristics?? Isn't that part of the job.?

What you need to know before committing to this is: The story line feels like a great indie (but the maybe bigger budget for an indie ($8 million) got exceptional actors and production quality.)
The story is great. It makes you feel. The themes, the takeaways, and the things that resonate with you make it certainly a great movie to see if you like a story. And also if you've had cancer or know someone. Many movies can be predictable evening with great stories. Movie maker know what audience has one and give it to them.
Watch it.
