George Carlin's American Dream (2022)
Iconic
It was nice to walk through the decades with Carlin, Brenda and Kelly. Its beautiful to see the "cynical/realist" have a life off the stage. The archival footage is amazing and crisp. The personal recordings, voicemails and letters put a personal touch on this documentary I think George himself would've approved of.
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (2022)
Loved this show!
Truly did not realize how badly I needed a ridiculous satire in my life. This was so funny, for the obvious but also small details. Kristen Bell has pulled it off again, in playing a true mix of Elenor Shelstrop and Veronica Mars. You are confused. Laughing. In deep. It provides all the things. All the twists and all the questions.
Please remember this is a parody. It makes it much more enjoyable.
Fear Street: 1994 (2021)
Not sure why the reviews are so bad..?
Yes, it's a goofy over the top slasher homage wrapped into a storyline that goes with Fear Street series. It's based off of R. L Stine for cripes sake guys, let's not take this so seriously. The acting was good, even with the obnoxious friends that tag along. Some stuff was corny but aren't all horror movies? I personally enjoyed how confused I was in the beginning, and really, throughout. Everyone needs to put an old pair of red and blue 3D glasses on and get in touch with their younger selves again.
Bio-Dome (1996)
Goofy
Obviously when you click (or insert, depending on your age) on this movie you're hopefully already aware of the silliness that is about to ensue. Yeah, it's corny but there's some good one liners that made me laugh out loud, I'm not ashamed to say. Its not for everyone, but not as bad as it seems.
The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (2018)
So much potential...
Agghhh. I gave it 5 because I left the theatre loving the cinematography. Yet, as I came home and digested this movie I realized all the plot holes and characters that were introduced and.....well that's it. They were all just introduced. I feel as though this was a part 1 in a series because of all the unanswered questions, and knowing Disney...it probably is. I wasn't as annoyed with the acting as other reviewers seemed to be...just the potential of a beautiful world and story. I've never seen the nutcracker ballet, or know the story too well. So I'm not sure how "Christmasy" the original story is, but I was expecting THIS depiction to be a tad more of a holiday movie. What it actually turned out to be was Alice in Wonderland with different costumes...
Adam Sandler: 100% Fresh (2018)
For those unfamiliar with Sandler..
If you're new to this, Adam Sandler started OUT writing and making hilarious songs. This was such a throwback and so "fresh" all at the same time. Silly Adam, with relatable jokes now that's I'm an adult with a child and wife. As everyone else though, it was the Farley tribute that made my huge lump in my throat and eyes tear up. Adam, you're amazing for this. We miss Farley too.
