Hagure Yusha no Aestetica (2012)
There should be penalties for open ended but cancelled top rate animes
This, like so many before it, has the awful status of "leaves you hanging right at the best part!" These anime writers have the absolute WORST ADHD! They can't stick it out with one title at a time. They write, and then don't even fight for the life of their anime series when these production companies try and cancel them.
There's something wrong with the fact that at least 75% of released top rated animes end right as the storyline is getting turned up. They work so hard on character development and backstory and get so many little struggles going but then 6-13 episodes in, they cut it off leaving you with a big case of blue ummm -zzz lol. Yea go with that, blues. Lol Please finish what you started!
Blue Beetle (2023)
Another DC hero used to hoc propaganda and drive wedges between americans
I thought I had gotten used to DC comics, animation, and films being used as vehicles for sociopolitical ideology. Especially after watching the slow progressive crash and burn of "Young Justice". But, I had to look down at the timer on this movie after an annoyingly long development backstory term. I realized that 3/4 of the film was nothing more than constant reminder of how bad it is to be a hispanic immigrant and how oppressed they are. They blew apart any semblance of the original backstory. They didn't even worry about secret identity or the tried and true rule that you don't let those closest tk you know your secret to keep them safe. Nope, they included the whole Familia in on it and gave'em weapons.... and guess what happens... hmm duh. I only gave this film the stars it got because of the fact that at least I got to see a live action Blue Beetle. But I could have done without the self pity and the family focus in an action superhero flick.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022)
You popped my imagination bubble
This is my 2nd time typing this review on my phone since it mysteriously crashed.
I'll just say this number 1 was much better.
Politics have no place in film awards or casting! Critical Race Theory, and personal Politics, and gender Politics need to be kept away from the writing, casting, and directing PLEASE!
THIS WAS AN AWESOME FILM. I looked forward to seeing this flick so much ever since Knuckles and Tails were set to arrive!
However.... the second Knuckles opened his mouth and Edis Elba fell out, the whole fantasy imagination bubble that I was submerged yet floating around in was BOOM 💥 POP 💥💥 it was shot out with a 12 Guage boom stick and ruined the whole illusion.
Lemme break it down for you folks..
1. The little Mermaid is a Danish redhead not any kind of Latin, or Pacific or even Portuguese.
2. I'm sorry but Aladdins Genie is comicly pudgy possibly jewish, blue guy with a top knot, not a black guy painted CG BLUE singing all the favorite beloved film soundtracks in hip hop trying to get genie with it. Lol
3. Finally Sonic, Tails, and KNUCKLES are all interstellar TEENS. NONE of them have accents, none of them sound like Edris Elba or any other middle aged man with a voice that can be a narrator for natgeo wild, and melts butter. They're kids. It doesn't take a million dollar actor to do simple voice over work. I wanna be a voice actor lol and I'm broke. Hire me hehe.
Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
Ragnarocked Balls!
This edition to the saga was one of pure adventure and excitement. I absolutely loved it for everything it represents.
Monster Hunter (2020)
People need to have a sense of humor
People are so uptight nowadays. The slightest thing offends them. Which ruins things like movies because it affects the casting AND the dialog/script. I won't say more just in case I offend someone's delicate racial being.
Aquaman (2018)
A cool and refreshing drink of water!
This long long long overdue live action film of the epic and beloved Aquaman character was an AWESOME start to what I hope will be a long and fruitful saga that continues sequel by sequel. DC has had a rough time keeping their casting on track. However, I think if they can fix that problem alone, they have a franchise that can potentially top Marvel's Avengers or X-Men. Wonder Woman and Aquaman alone could carry DC I think, but with Batman and Superman cast correctly and permanently, and Cyborg and Flash getting established well enough.... this is a team to have no rivals... with an army of potential and unveiled characters and material to boot, there can and will be NO stopping this powerhouse billing.
Rango (2011)
Under-appreciated and overdue for a sequel called Rango 2!
Loved this flick... not a big animation fan usually, but this one makes ya laugh and sticks with ya for the long haul.
So Far: 'The Little Mermaid' (2019)
Disney film suicide
More of the Disney company playing the race card to sell tickets. Trying to cater to leftwing political ideology as well as stay up to date with what's lucrative and hip. Which will end up bankrupting their production company since they keep selling out to a political party and culturally dating their films so that they are only hip and relevant for a couple years before everything about them is blasé, passe, corny, outdated, outmoded, antiquated, obsolete, and unfashionable...... unlike their TIMELESS AND TREASURED original counterparts.
Aladdin (2019)
Short and Sweet
I'll make this quick! I absolutely 💯 % hate the casting In this movie. I love Will Smith but not as the genie.
Main point:
I'm sick of Disney hocking race as a selling point to films. This was supposed to be a live action remake of the original animated movie. But... Im sorry but Will Smith does not make a good big BLUE COMEDIC genie! He isn't funny! He's an action star. And almost all the music was changed to suit. Now its laced with R&B / HIP-HOP. HATED IT! COMPLETELY RUINED A TIMELESS TREASURE and reduced it to a politically driven fad film that is only relevant to the short 2 to 3 years of the music and cultural fads of the time. 10 to 20 years from now its going to seem VERY VERY CHEESY! STUPID MOVE DISNEY!
Doom Patrol (2019)
Doom Patrol Characters cut off their own noses despite their faces!
I have binged the entire 1st & 2nd seasons of this show in a matter of 24 hrs and that alone says volumes about my commitment to this series. However, as with all great things, it could have been perfect had it not been for a few very consistent, deeply flawed, and irreversible qualities carried and dispensed generously by all the main characters or "Doom Patrol." Those character qualities are annoyingly immature, rebellious, and naive almost to the point of being considered blindly stupid! They all exhibit them over and over and all I want to do is smack them, and ask them if they are really that ignorant! They are weak minded, temper tantrum rampant, entitled, chicken s%*#ts! The truth is constantly staring them right in the face and they always play right into the villains hand. Everything else is awesome about the show. The Doom Patrol characters themselves need to grow up, stop running away from each other and their problems, and be a little less piss ignorant!
Paul (2011)
The TOTAL package!
I fbomb love this flick! Its tge total package! PLEASE PLEASE make a sequel! I find myself watching this movie at least once a week. Im up to about 25 times now. I love a movie that can reveal something new each time you view it. Let's do it again. And I love the music chosen for it as well. However I think the best part of this is the cast. Bring'em all back!
The Help (2011)
Perfect formula for 100% Entertainment
This film is the perfect combination of the exactly fitted cast to their respective roles. I can watch this film an unlimited number of times and see different things, get additional laughs, and always finish feeling like I just watched it for the first time. Its a nice glass of warm milk on a cold winters night. Its too bad this doesn't really leave itself open to a sequel. It sure does leave you wanting more pie chocolate !
Masters of the Universe (1987)
Almost only works with horseshoes and hand grenades
This movie could have been a huge successful box office smasher! I'll keep this simple and list out the mistakes;
1. Should have taken place fully in Eternia. Using Earth as the location was obviously their solution to budget restraints. But it also ruined the original storyline of Prince Adam's Mother being from Earth since in the movie they make it completely obvious that this land is foreign and never been heard of.
2. Should have stuck with the characters most commonly used in the cartoon.
Should have subbed Gwildor for Orco.
Should have subbed the 3 random assassins with more known evil henchmen, like merman and Lokjaw.
Should have shown the king and queen.
3. Since there was no issue with wearing cheesy wardrobe, then they should have made an effort to mimic the garb that the characters wear in the cartoon. Especially He-Man, Man-At-Arms, and Teela. As well as He-Mans sword!
4. No mention of Prince Adam nor any appearance by him.
Along with no Adam there was no Kringer or Battlecat.
5. This is the biggest one! Why on earth was there never a transformation scene of Adam turning into He-Man.
I gave this film 8 stars because there WAS a film at all. They took a chance and the studios went with it. That deserves respect. But its obvious that there wasn't enough faith in its performance, by the small budget and low amount of advertising . Thats a huge mistake these studios make is their low advertising budgets. Films like this and Jupiter Ascending would be hits if there's more prerelease advertising.
