The tone is set right away with some terrible cg effects of a blowing volcano and debris.

Comical is something that describe about this movie.

The acting and the implausible story telling are quite evident. Maybe it was supposed to be campy. I don't know but it sure comes out as such.

No real character development just studies in caricatures.

And the dialogue seems to be written by an elementary school student.

I like a disaster movie like the next guy but could not look past its laughable story line, amateurish special effects and sub-par acting.

Don't waste your time on this one. Be forewarned.

Stranger (2022)

Boring...

I know there's an attempt for a story here but I can't find it.

A couple's on vacay and basically nothing really happens throughout the movie, except for the last few minutes of the flick. They brush their teeth, take showers, go hiking... you get the gist. Unless you are living it, then maybe its interesting but watching it, it's rather like watching paint dry.

There's supposed to be some kind of tension where there seems like a guy is lurking outside and we see it from the creeper's perspective. Then he goes inside the house and moves things around- the toothbrush, a ring- you get the gist.

When there are moments that you think something might happen, it doesn't. This movie might cause sleepiness. Be forewarned...

Hellraiser (2022)

Disappointing is an understatement...

I had high hopes for this movie. I welcomed a twist to Pinhead and co-horts but in the end, the film did not have the mood or overall creepiness as in original classic.

Loved the rawness of the the original film. In this iteration, it's slick and antiseptic. Nothing seemed creepy, scary or visceral.

When the gang arrives, they didn't have a presence. In the original, the scene and mood change with their appearance. Basically in this it looked like women dressed in Halloween costumes. Nothing frightening. Even in all the 'gory' scenes, the blood and imagery looked plastic and not realistic.

I loved the first time I watched the original Hellraiser in theaters. There is none of the suspense and horror here. Nothing. Have to say this is movie is much better than the last Hellraiser movie (Hellraiser: Judgement), which is not saying much.

Just watch the original and classic Hellraiser again and skip this one. Unless you want to get your nap time in.

Sissy (I) (2022)

Unexpected...

Going into the movie, I expected the normal influencer movie. There have been so many that it's becoming nauseating. Seen it before many times. Boy was I wrong with this one.

The second half of the flick is when it really gets rolling. First you feel sorry for the influencer and then you see the real disturbing side of her. The acting is on par , with an excellent performance from Aisha Dee, the influencer. Her performance is full of range from the delicate flower to the deranged.

If you make it past the slow beginning part, you'll be rewarded for certain. It's an unexpected crazy ride. A must recommendation...

Yet another jittering cam footage movie. It's so rough that I wanted to heave. Other than that, it's also a bad movie. Pass if you want a headache or be nauseated...

It's brilliant. Loved the heartwarming story about this trans friend who passed away and starting a college fund for her child. It's the matter of laughing at ourselves- that's what comics do- a genius like Chappelle totally achieves in this special...

Noticing all the accolades for this movie. As all of us know, these are fake. Probably they are people from the families or friends who worked on the production of the movie.

Some of the conversations are amusing but overall nothing to write home about. Not much happening and overall dull. At least they had decent production values. I would skip...

The plot was like finding a needle in a haystack. Basically vignettes some filled with torture. The production value is one of a low budget student film and not a Lionsgate production. Can't believe I watched this pile. Trust me-skip this "movie..."
