Mission: Impossible: Decoy (1970)
Decoy....fake them out again
Finally a UHF station in the Los Angeles area is showing Mission Impossible on a regular basis. I miss the show! This episode was one of the later ones and you can see the twist they put in the show....Phelps gets involved romantically. A bit more human rather than the robotic agents that the characters are known for.
I remember how perfect everything always worked out. A few snags here and there but everyone fills in their role for the mission. I love how the plot just unfolds and the producers never bore the audience by showing the characters plan for their missions. I think this later episode still holds the same formula as in the past. Peter Lupus played a smaller role here (I love his character every since I was a kid watching the show). Leonard Nemoy's character, Paris, was important but he was really not on camera much after the half way point (he went in disguise). Leslie Warren played Phelp's sister and her sexy role was reduced in this one in order to draw out the romance that Phelp's get involved in. It was apparent that there's romance in the air during the walk in the park shoot. Maybe a little corny, but still, great fun watching it and I'll tune in everyday!
Anyone noticed that 2 of the main guest stars played major roles in the movie "Patton"?
