Mental film
1 April 2024
The film starts out really good and then just gets more and more stupid. It ended the way a Grand Theft Auto final mission would, absolutely mental. I felt like some of the cast were on drugs especially Connor McGregor, this might not be the case but it sure did feel like it.

The first half of the film felt like it was building a decent story. As I was watching it I felt why are people giving this remake bad reviews, and then it happened. I don't think Connor McGregor was a bad choice for this film and his acting wasn't even that bad. But the way he was portrayed was just bad. It's like they got halfway through the film and just thought forget the story let's just go mental and finish the film with as much dumb action as possible.

I don't know if it was supposed to be a comedy but we all looked at each other laughing at how mental the ending was. For that I give it an average score of 5/10, it's worth a watch. Dont take it seriously, it's a decent film for a relaxed night in.

Wonka (2023)
5/10
Very average but worth a watch
31 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Felt this was more about the girl noodle than Willy Wonka. I was hoping to watch his struggle in getting the chocolate factory. Rather we have a film about him being trapped and having to sneak out with a girl. Pretty poor origin story he was the sub character, which was a huge mistake.

But saying that it still had me laughing in parts. The casting was spot on which is rare nowadays. Again apart from noodle who I didn't really care about, and it got tired fast. Hugh Grant was great but wasn't in it nearly enough. Timothy was the perfect casting, they couldn't have found anybody else more perfect for the role. Worth a watch but I feel like it was a massive missed opportunity. Why involve noodle so much, absolutely no need for this.

It's a good show, but with too many games of chance
11 December 2023
I did enjoy watching this, keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. Some of the characters you can relate to and some of them you can't help but dislike (Number 432) At first I felt it was a bit cringy. Like when they get shot they literally pretend to die, which is a bit weird. Then it felt like they were acting in the first game, felt a bit fake.

But it gets better and better the further you go into it. The only thing I didn't like was the chance games. So many times they had others eliminating others. Like once ok but they took up so many opportunities for more games. Even the end game was more luck than actual skill. Like I was expecting the squid game instead of what we got. Still a good show to watch 7/10.

Don't believe all the hate but it's far from great
31 October 2023
Where to start with this mixed bag of a movie. If this was just a regular Halloween numbered film then it could have gotten away with this. As others have said you don't bring a new character who serves as the main villain into it in the last ever film of a franchise like this. But if this was Halloween Kills and not Halloween Ends, then I see nothing wrong with it. It is actually a bang average film, but again they shouldn't have introduced Corey or not as much as they did.

I do think the 1-3 star reviews are a bit harsh. It's because we were all expecting an epic showdown and the swansong for Michael Myers, yet we got Corey's meltdown instead.

What're they doing?
13 October 2023
Amy Schumer and Cara Delivigne is a lesbian relationship with Mabel no thankyou! Has this gone woke? The first season was brilliant and felt different than the dribble we usually get. Well this has turned into that dribble that we usually get. They have to throw some lesbian stuff in don't they, you know just to do it to appease nobody as nobody cares but they must do it still.

The main characters feel flatter especially Oli. He doesn't seem his insane fun self. I feel like maybe they should have left this at just one season. I hope it can get better though as it still can, but I worry. Hopefully it picks up.

Ahsoka (2023– )
3/10
All filler, zero killer
4 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I have watched it all and I am sat here thinking what even happened, what was the point in even making this? What's with all the rage reviews, has this what it has really come to? It hasn't told a story. They went to a planet (Eventually) to try and stop Thrawn. He got away, the end. Stuff happened in the middle that meant nothing and that was it.

I haven't seen anybody even explain yet what this show is aiming at. What is it for, what's happened? I love Star Wars but this was the biggest disappointment of any series. Even worse than Mandalorian season 3. If this is what we're getting now then fans expectations must be very low.

Ahsoka constantly looks weak. Sabine is just a joke. Ezra magically appears on the same planet. The 2 dark Jedi's end up doing absolutely nothing. Anakin pep talk to Ahsoka does nothing and she runs away from the fight, very random. Absolutely shocking writing, absolutely shocking show.

Ahsoka: Part Seven: Dreams and Madness (2023)
Season 1, Episode 7
5/10
I still don't understand the purpose of this show
29 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This show is just a cash grab let's admit it. What is the point in this? The story is going nowhere, like what is this even about? Somebody at work told me it's to build up for a film? Well why not just make the film then. But seriously though with one episode left I can't tell you what has actually happened of any great importance.

They found a map that leads to Thrawn who is doing what exactly? They fight and Ashoka just looks weak. She falls off the cliffs and Anakin gives her a pep talk. She travels inside a whale through space, to find her friend Sabine who has just randomly found her friend Ezra. The whale leads her directly to the right planet lol.

Ahsoka then fights that guy again and instead the writers decide that she looks weak again, so she just runs off. Like how stupid is that, she should have gotten the win there, Anakins pep talk meant absolutely nothing.

So in these 7 episodes nothing has happened. Well that Thrawn guy has appeared and that's about it. Less said about Hera the better, absolutely pointless character.

I've given it 5 stars due to the lightsabre parts.

The most underrated Star Wars movie
22 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This movie gets hate and some points I do understand. Like Jar Jar Binks is just a bit too much it feels forced. Anakin In certain situations I just think, oh yeah he just wouldn't do that. Like when he flys the ship into the enemy ship near the end, he's just a kid. Plus it can get a bit boring at times.

But honestly they actually nailed the story. They explain it all so well and it's a brilliant start. Qui Gon is my favourite Jedi, he is the most down to earth and doesn't blindly see how one minded the Jedi are to their 'rules'

Darth Maul is a brilliant villain. The end right and the music is right up there with the best of the series. In fact the musical score in the end fight, duel of the fates is my favourite music from the entire Star Wars films.

It's not perfect but it is solid and underrated, it gets so much hate and there is no reason for this.

What is the point in this season?
13 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This season has done nothing for the series. Absolutely pointless even making this. That one mandalorian episode from the boba Fett season is better than the whole of this season. Nothing new happened it was all filler, just to make another season that has done nothing to take this series forward.

Like I don't actually know what has happened in this season? Moff Gideon is dead, yet they shouldn't have even brought him back he should have been done as the villain at the end of season 2. We should have had a new villain and it should have been based around this. I actually hope they make a new season to actually give us something worthwhile. But if it's like this please just leave it alone.

Top Boy: If We Are Not Monsters (2023)
Season 5, Episode 6

Solid but not great
11 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Top boy seems to give us the unexpected, like when Sully killed Jaime the shock factor was there. I kind of knew that Stef wouldn't do it. But I was expecting maybe Erin or maybe even Aaron as a shock killer. Pretty sure it was Jaq as the drugs didn't get taken. If it was the Irish, Isaac or fields then they would have robbed him.

I still really enjoyed the last episode it was tense throughout. I just really don't get why they didn't show us the killer, like what does that achieve? It's like a murder mystery off a soap opera. Dushane went out as I expected he was never escaping or going to prison.

Overall great season, it was rushed yes, but I still really enjoyed it. Solid last episode, but why not show us the killer?

Halloween (2007)
6/10
A good worth while remake
6 September 2023
The first half of the film is such a good remake and the second half although it's not great is still good enough. The character development in this film is better than the original Halloween. I'm not saying this is better but the character development is.

I thought the first half of the film was brilliant but then it got silly. It felt like 2 films and I didn't really care for the characters in the second half. Also the second half just felt like a copy of the original Halloween but done badly. I get it's a remake but the way they did the first half was what made the remake so good.

Don't listen to the Halloween fan boys who just won't accept this remake. It's a lot better than other remakes and I think Rob Zombie did a decent job of this. Just shame about the second half although it's still worth it.

Is this supposed to be a comedy?
25 August 2023
This has to be the worst film I have ever seen where it would have been easy to make it a decent film. What I mean is the foundations were set with the other films, the story was already mostly made, so just add some horror elements and you're done. Like the Saw movies for example, some were poor but the story and the franchise carried the Saw films to at least be credible. But dear me this was awful.

But it was that bad it was good in a way. I was laughing at points, but I'm not sure if this was intentional or not. Tommy's continuous outburst of evil dies tonight. The funny deaths. Little John and big John. Who even directed this massacre lol. I'm not a director but I honestly could have done a better job than this. It reminded me of the scary movie films, if it was a scary movie film then it would have been solid, but it wasn't it's not supposed to be a parody. But comedy and bad acting is what this film does best. I read some reviews before watching and I thought surely it won't be as bad as people say, well it is.

The start however is very good and then it steadily goes downhill from there.

EVIL DIES TONIGHT!

Brilliant cast, boring film
31 July 2023
I love Christopher Nolan, one of my favourite directors. But he seems now to just be doing complicated difficult to follow films just for the sake of it, because he has to. People might say I'm stupid for not "Getting it" I did get it, he just took the long way round to explain it all. There was just no need for this. It should have been a 10/10 film. A man was snoring on the same row as me in the cinema, people talking getting agitated with it, because there was no need for this 3 hour slog of a film.

Saying that what saved the film was brilliant acting. The story was brilliant but like I said just too drawn out and annoying to follow dialogue, especially in the last hour or so. There's some Oscar's in this film though for sure. Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr excellent.

A decent cash grab
16 July 2023
This was a cash grab but it was a good one. At the end of the film in the cinema my girlfriend yelled "Is that it" I sort of agreed, the film never really got anywhere. Like it didn't actually have to be made, it was pretty pointless. I have only seen the first insidious, my girlfriend said it kept going back to the older films in flashbacks. So yes it was a cash grab but it wasn't a badly made one. They relied on jump scares mostly. But what got me was that it was well acted and made with care. I was expecting a paranormal activity 5 kind of film. Where they just want the money and don't really care what the film is like. But this is definitely worth a watch, it has made me want to watch the others.

It started off so well and then got worse
8 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The ending is awful. I was expecting him to put his hat on the kid or at least go back and save his son with the dial. I thought this was the whole point when he said he would go back and save his son. I mean given the chance why the hell wouldn't you save your son? It is probably because Shia Labeouf was his son and he won't do another and regrets doing Crystal skull. They could have cast somebody else maybe, but that's obviously the reason. The thing is disney love to make more films just look at Star Wars. There's money to be made from Indianna Jones. So I thought this would have been passing the torch but it wasn't.

Also the lead actress I couldn't stand her. Her demeanour and look was more of a villain than a hero. Plus for 9/10 of the movie she was kind of villain with the way she acted. The bad guy was brilliantly cast.

Started off brilliantly, then slowly got worse as the film went on. Worth a watch don't get me wrong. But it could have been so much better. They had a time machine, and hardly used it!

Brilliant episode but come on Pia
21 June 2023
All Pia had to do was pretend and eat the Shepard's pie. This was probably the worst I have ever seen anybody freak out in a horror film/programme. If she ate the pie and went back to the room she lived, the mother lived and went to jail. The mother had no idea until she ran off and she went up and saw the tape. But no she freaked out and ran off and then slipped and died, I actually laughed at that point. It didn't help her not having eyebrows for the comic relief in this episode. But Pia could not have done any worse all she had to do was pretend for 10 minutes. Never have I ever seen a character not hold it together as bad as she did.

Other than that I loved this episode. I knew something was up with the mother right from the start. But that was just full on creepy. When she looked at the pictures and had some kind of strange nostalgia. It was like the best time of her life, then putting the mask on at the end, absolutely insane for her son to see all that.

The Last of Us (2023– )

Great show that slowly fades into mediocre
11 April 2023
This show really peaked by the third episode, which I felt was one of the best episodes I have ever watched in any tv show, ever. The first episode was also one of the best first episodes of any show. But then it just gets slow and never really keeps the pace up.

The last episode was awful. I think I am in the minority when I say this. But it felt short and rushed and the ending was abysmal. People say the show has a lot of great character building. To me a lot of it just felt like filler. Like the episode 'left behind' it felt like it could have been a 10 minute flashback instead of a whole episode.

But overall a good watch and there is some really special scenes in this show and 2 really good stand out episodes, 1 and 3. I will be watching season 2, with all the shows out I just hope it can hold on to my interest as I did find myself looking at my phone at times. I prefer the walking dead seasons 1-6 as a whole but let's see where the last of us goes next.

Scream VI (2023)

Solid Scream movie but had one huge flaw
20 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The huge flaw I am talking about is when somebody gets stabbed. They magically get better so fast like nothing even happened. This happened with Mindy twice, the first time after the ladder scene she is seen wandering around with the rest of them. She also doesn't even seem bothered her girlfriend just died. The second time at the end she gets stabbed (Badly) Then starts literally sprinting at the end of the film!?

Chad getting stabbed like 20 times? I did see that as comedy though, because it was that far fetched. I don't know if they meant to actually do that.

But saying that it's a good Scream Movie. I would put it above 2 and 3 and on par with 5. I'm happy for them to keep making them if they're like this, it's consistently good, but nothing brilliant. Can't believe this was the only scream film where I've actually guessed correctly on who ghost face is. Well I guessed the cop.

Dennis Quaid brilliant performance
27 December 2022
The only thing that gets this a 5/10 is Quaids performance, brilliant. It's a shame for him the main 2 actors are abysmal, and just idiotic screen writing. I wish this film had a much better script with 2 main actors who can actually act. Also Scott's friend sounded like he was going to break out into a rap. What a sad choice of actors for this film.

The plot isn't that bad, just the choices of the 2 main characters are awful. If this was done better I would honestly nominate Quaid for an award for his performance in this. It's lucky to get 5 stars from me. It's all been done before and better, still however it is worth a watch.

Great episode but it still has its flaws
14 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Why won't they kill anybody off this show? They wouldn't even kill off Lydia after she had been bitten. I mean she's hardly been in it and could easily be killed off. It's the next to last episode yet still we have no main character death this season. They could have shocked us earlier on in the season with a death or 2 as it's over soon. Probably because of all the money grabbing spin offs they can't. Then Daryl just stands there in plain site yet doesn't get shot.

But it was still a brilliant episode, it's just a shame this didn't come earlier on in the season. It was more like an 11B ending before 11C. As the whole of season 11 up to this point has just been dragged out with nothing happening. I'm not sure about this last episode, I feel it's going to be a cop out because of the spin offs.

Please just end it already
31 October 2022
I wish it just ended right now, there is nothing left for this show anymore. The whole 11C has been lacklustre, it's the last episodes ever! It's obvious they are just wanting to cash grab by all these spin offs. So they obviously can't kill certain characters off. But they still haven't killed more minor characters like for example Magna. What has happened to this show!?

The ending is blatantly obvious to anybody who has heard how the comics end. Which is probably most of the fan base now as the casuals got bored off. I just hope Rick returns but is there really any story for him to return to? Plus let's not forget the cash grab films they have lined up for him to be in. I will finish the walking dead series but I'm gone for the spin offs.

At last something happens!
24 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
At last something happens, it's just a bit cheap and lazy though. They should have given Lance a better ending than that. All that build up and the brilliant ending to 11B to make him into what I thought was a decent villain. To just kind of randomly kill him without him even killing a main character off.

But saying that at least they actually did something. It's felt like a soap opera but this episode was worth the watch throughout. I'm just struggling to see who is the last villain. It's a bit cheap to have Pam. We will probably get a civil war and that's it, set up for the spin offs and the inevitable finish of 30 years into the future.

The Walking Dead: Variant (2022)
Season 11, Episode 19

All filler and no killer
17 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I wish this would just end. To say it's the last crop of episodes nothing is happening. They introduce a new type of Walker, I'm guessing it's for yet another spin off. Instead of ending the show it's obvious they're setting things up for spin offs. We will get the comic ending when it goes far into the future. So they won't do anything and have the spin offs cover the in between.

No main character deaths yet, with what is it 4 or 5 episodes to go? It's like a soap opera of boring dialogue then a tiny bit or something will happen. Like I don't even care about Rosita at this point. She has been an afterthought since season 7, she has been stretched with storylines there's no more interest. Obviously Eugene will end up fine, even Rosita will. We will most likely get one big death if we are lucky.

Prey (I) (2022)

It's just too predictable and non realistic
15 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Obviously the dog doesn't die as the audience would go mental. The predator kills a wolf but can't kill a dog. The dog survives and the director shows this at the end so it makes the audience super happy and takes away the problems from the rest of this film.

To start with it is actually solid, like it's not a BAD film. But the predator should have won, that's the problem with this film. She couldn't hardly hunt or anything at the start, then all of a sudden she can kill a predator. A predator that has technology far beyond any of ours now, never mind the year this film was set in.

I get it's an action film and they're over the top like the original predator. But at least Arnie is a well built muscular man. It's just not realistic at all, the predator should have won. The deaths were so predictable and the non deaths were so predictable.

Very overhyped but watchable sequel
31 July 2022
I don't get all the 10/10 films? I didn't grow up with the first one so I don't have nostalgia and the film was very rich in nostalgia. It copied a lot from the first one. The Penny character, who is she? It's like the film tells us we should know who she is? The film is missing music at pivotal times and lines that should have been included. Then it just got over the top near the end, I mean come on!

Saying all that it's still a good action film, I just don't understand all the hype?
