Into the Deep (2020)
I didn't know what to expect
I just started watching it, looked interesting, this guy built his own sub etc. Etc... I had NO IDEA that it was going to go the way it went. I'd never heard of this story before, so it was sort of a surprise to me, which was good.
Seemed a lot like a very self assured man and the people who congregate around him to be part of it all and help. OK, so that' exactly what it was - except turns out he's a psychopathic narcissist who just wants to kill a woman or something in his sub! Sorry if there are spoilers but the description on the page says all that also.
What got me was the people around him and how shocked they were and -- you know, how could you not know something was wrong with your "friend"?? It makes it all the more harrowing to realize that these people walk amongst us and that you could KNOW someone and not know them at all, and they are like this guy. So, it was interesting to me as I had no idea about the case nor what the doc was about, didn't even notice the tag line til later. LOL Interesting. TRULY scary. Real life horror.
White Noise (2022)
Maybe the worst thing I've seen on tv in a long time
I tried watching it as it sounded fairly interesting (toxic cloud etc) -- Couldn't finish it, then decided to see if it could be redeemed days later. No. I still couldn't finish it on try #2.
"At once hilarious and horrifying"..........
Yet --- not hilarious at all, but you can tell that IT thinks it is. I don't remember even one iota of a chuckle, other than how bad it was.
Not even horrifying, just annoying as heck. The dialogue is just ridiculous, I'm honestly not sure what everyone was going for here. A waste of what is supposed to be good actors, though I am doubting all of that now. Oh well.
A Star Is Born (2018)
Was difficult for me
Once I realized in like the first scene he is suffering from tinnitus... "his inner demons"? Yeah, his inner demons all right. It's not brought out enough that this contributes to his problems ... it was upsetting to watch.
Longmire (2012)
Kind of disappointed
As a lover of these audiobooks, which are WONDERFUL -- I was disappointed when I watched the show. I know there's no way anyone can see what's in your head when you're reading or listening but -- sorry, Lou Diamond Phillips isn't even CLOSE to Henry Standing Bear IMO. Also the Sheriff -- expected someone a bit older - they seem too young. They served in Vietnam together and the music playing is a little too modern for that to have happened. Vic I can understand after a while but still not what expected.
The show itself (we've seen 3 or 4 episodes) keeps your attention for the most part. Henry Standing Bear/Lou Diamond Phillips. NO. But I can't wait to get back in my car and continue listening to Kindness Goes Unpunished.
