Usually when i rate a movie a 6 it's with the suggestion that you can watch it while doing something else. Not here, there are some hilarious scenes you'll miss if you look away. Especially the scenes with "Donut".
Equal parts black comedy, thriller and buddy action flick, it doesn't nail any of those vibes perfectly, but there are lots of good moments.
Brosnan proves effective at playing a compartmentalized killer, who loves to cook, appreciates those who've been good to him, and uses his experience to win as opposed to brawn.
Caan in his last role, carries enough weight that his scenes are anchored well, polished by Brosnan's interaction.
The primary villain is a little light. There's little sense of him actually killing our anti-hero; and his "number one" assassin is a little bland too.
Morena Baccarin is an interesting choice here, but she and Brosnan poke fun at their age difference and the ludicrousness of a possible walk off into the sunset.
The ending is never really in doubt, but the way they arrive at it, along with some bloodily humorous scenes, is novel and fun.
