Flamenco: The Enduring Art of Inesita
A short portrait documentary about the remarkable flamenco dance career of Inesita approaching 8 decades. The title is inspired by a short film that some NYU students shot in 1962 featuring Inesita. 'Inesita: The Art of Flamenco.' The cameraman and editor was the young Martin Scorsese. The director his classmate Robert Siegel. That 9 minute short was lost. Some years ago Inesita found a film canister and it turned out to be a work print from that shoot. Using old footage and photos we get to travel through time with Inesita as she shares about her distinctive performance career and about the ever evolving but enduring art of flamenco. In 2010 UNESCO declared flamenco an 'Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
