Director: Alfonso Cuarón | Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Richard Griffiths
Votes: 691,847 | Gross: $249.36M
My personal favourite Harry Potter. The whole way in which the film is shot was changed and made darker. The story was the most intelligent and introduced some great new characters like Gary Oldam's Sirius Black and Prof. Lupin. It's a massive shame I thought that Alfonso Cuarón didn't carry on directing the Potter films as I think they would have been very different.
2. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)

Votes: 856,376 | Gross: $317.58M
The first movie had a few down points, but introduced the characters and was an enjoyable watch for people of most ages.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione search for Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes in their effort to destroy the Dark Lord as the final battle rages on at Hogwarts.

A strong finale!

Harry Potter finds himself competing in a hazardous tournament between rival schools of magic, but he is distracted by recurring nightmares.
Director: Mike Newell | Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Eric Sykes
Votes: 681,792 | Gross: $290.01M
A lot of people dislike this one as it aids the story the least out of all of the films, but I think it's an enjoyable watch for a lot of people - and is one of the few that can be watched even without seeing the previous films.
5. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)

As Harry Potter begins his sixth year at Hogwarts, he discovers an old book marked as "the property of the Half-Blood Prince" and begins to learn more about Lord Voldemort's dark past.

Enjoyable throughout!

Director: David Yates | Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Bill Nighy
Votes: 599,372 | Gross: $295.98M
Good Start to the End!
7. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007)

With their warning about Lord Voldemort's return scoffed at, Harry and Dumbledore are targeted by the Wizard authorities as an authoritarian bureaucrat slowly seizes power at Hogwarts.
Director: David Yates | Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Brendan Gleeson
Votes: 633,527 | Gross: $292.00M
A bit too slow paced for my enjoyment, but wasn't aweful.
8. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
PG | 161 min | Adventure, Family, Fantasy
Harry Potter lives his second year at Hogwarts with Ron and Hermione when a message on the wall announces that the legendary Chamber of Secrets has been opened. The trio soon realize that, to save the school, it will take a lot of courage.
Director: Chris Columbus | Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Richard Harris
Votes: 692,621 | Gross: $261.99M
I thought this one was a real shame not to be better. There are a lot of parts in this story that were linked to the later stories - but the excecution of the film i thought was made mainly for children and wasn't dark enough.
