New Star Wars Trilogy + Spin-Offs ( My Wishlist )

by CrawfordFilm | created - 07 Nov 2012 | updated - 03 Jun 2013 | Public

We all know that Lucas Film has been bought by Disney, and we all know that they're planning sequels and Spin-Offs. I would like to tell and show you my thoughts.

Oscar winning writer Micheal Arndt is pinning the first sequel. Awesome! And JJ. Abrams is directing the first movie. That's what we need! A fan boy who knows not only his Star Wars stuff but that the prequels werent the best. Which means probable tone down of too much Greenscreen/CGI and JarJar Binks. So far this movie looks like it will at least be better than the prequels.

We got the director, we got the writer which are both great. But now we need Actors who can act! You guys know who i'm talking about. The near killer of the francise. Moment of silence.... Hayden Christensen. Enough said about that. But there's no doubt there will be some familiar faces, and characters. I would love some new faces tho, the originals drove those actors into fame I think these movies would be the perfect opportunity to showcase a fresh new face. With good actors along with a good director and a good script. No worries.

And because JJ. Abrams is directing. I think we can assume that people from his shows and movies might be In the movie. And even tho Michael Giacchino is Abrams usual composer, Abrams himself said the legend John Williams is coming back to compose once again. That makes me a little sad but i can't argue with the choice to bring back a legend. And plus i think Giacchino will do some of the spin offs or something, he's just too good to pass up on.

Whether its in the new episodes or a spin off, they need to get the people who worked on the video games and trailers to help out as consultants or something, cause those trailers were epic. And it would be awesome to have them aboard any ship that involves a new Star Wars anything.

Alright. Now i'm going to show the actual actors and future directors (to take over after JJ. Abrams), writers and different composers i think should do an episode or spin-off (because lets be honest whats Star Wars without music). So as a fan of Star Wars i bring you my personal Future Star Wars wishlist.

I will update.

1. Neill Blomkamp

Director | District 9

Neill Blomkamp is a South African-Canadian film director and screenwriter who is known for the science fiction films District 9, Elysium and Chappie. He also directed the supernatural horror film Demonic and the 2007 short film Halo: Landfall, based on the Microsoft science fiction video game ...

He did a great job with District 9, did plenty of awesome short films including the best Halo movie we'll never see. This guy could do just as good if not better than JJ. Abrams with a fifth of the budget. Great with visuals and storytelling. If Elysium is a hit, critically and financially I would be shocked If Kathleen Kennedy didn't consider him for a spin off or Episode.

2. Peter Jackson

Producer | The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Sir Peter Jackson made history with The Lord of the Rings trilogy, becoming the first person to direct three major feature films simultaneously. The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King were nominated for and collected a slew of awards from around the globe, with The ...

That April Fools video he made had a little Easter egg of sorts in it, a script for Star Wars Episode VIII. It may mean nothing at all, but it is kind of curious tho, I don't think he would randomly just throw in a fake script for a Star Wars episode just for good measure.

If he is interested in doing a Star Wars movie at all that will make us fanboys and LucasFilm's heads just explode. Kathleen Kennedy would amediately give him a call, they are all hands on deck with this franchise and they are trying to get top he best talent they can find, and Jackson is no exception. I really don't have to keep talking. It would be incredible if he could do a Star Wars movie.

3. Joss Whedon

Producer | Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Joss Whedon is the middle of five brothers - his younger brothers are Jed Whedon and Zack Whedon. Both his father, Tom Whedon and his grandfather, John Whedon were successful television writers. Joss' mother, Lee Stearns, was a history teacher and she also wrote novels as Lee Whedon. Whedon was ...

You can't have a Star Wars wish-list without including him. I don't have to say anything about him that hasn't been said already. But I will say one thing, just a day before JJ. Abrams was announced director, he said he wanted to direct a Star Wars movie. So I think once Avengers 2 is almost done with post-production and trailers start coming out, they'll give him a call (kind of like how JJ. Abrams and Star Trek Into Darkness worked out).

I would also love if he wrote and directed the movie, holy crap that would be amazing! Plus he could just write one the movies and someone else could direct, I would be fine with that, but I would much rather him do both.

4. Alfonso Cuarón

Producer | Gravity

Alfonso Cuarón Orozco was born on November 28th 1961 in Mexico City, Mexico. From an early age, he yearned to be either a film director or an astronaut. However, he did not want to enter the army, so he settled for directing. He didn't receive his first camera until his twelfth birthday, and then ...

Not many people probably remember this, but a while ago it was rumored that Cuaron is in talks to do the 8th one. Whether that is true or not had yet to be determined but I would like to share my thoughts on why I think he would be a great pick.

First off he directed one of my favorite sequels ever Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban. That movie was so good because he had the perfect blend of dark and blissful youth adventure that the other two had. I in general really want different visions for these sequels and spin offs. If their looking for an Empire Strikes Back type film that's really different because of scale and tone by being a little darker than previous, I think he would be perfect.

5. Zack Snyder

Director | 300

Zachary Edward "Zack" Snyder (born March 1, 1966) is an American film director, film producer, and screenwriter, best known for action and science fiction films. Snyder made his feature film debut with the 2004 remake Dawn of the Dead and has gone on to be known for his comic book movies and ...

Not the best director ever, but a heck a visionary one. His camera work and CGI effects look incredible. When he doesn't work on a script the movie is even more awesome, which will be the case most likely If did do a Star Wars film. If Man of Steel is a huge success (which it definitely will be) and if it's well enough received by the critics, again, Kathleen Kennedy better give him a call. And one more thing, If he does do a movie, I will be breathless with anticipation for the trailer of the movie ( cause all of his movies have AMAZING trailers! ).

6. Michael Giacchino

Composer | Star Trek

Michael Giacchino is an American composer of music for films, television and video games.

Giacchino composed the scores to the television series Lost, Alias and Fringe, the video game series Medal of Honor and Call of Duty and many films such as The Incredibles (2004), Star Trek (2009), Up (2009), ...

The best composer of the modern day. Has done most of JJ. Abrams work. Like i said John Williams is doing Episode VII not him, but i think he's too good to pass up on for a Spin-Off or something. Cause John Williams can't do all of them, it would be weird, i want different music all around but still have some of the classic themes Williams gave us.

7. Howard Shore

Music_department | The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Howard Shore is a Canadian composer, born in Toronto. He was born in a Jewish family. He started studying music when 8-years-old, and played as a member of bands by the time he was 13-years-old. He was interested in a professional career in music as a teenager. He studied music at the Berklee ...

If Jackson does do one. I would pick him to do the music. Just let John Williams set the tone with the 7th one and let other people like Michael Giacchino and Shore take the helm. I would rather have great scores by these guys than a recycled Williams one. Like I said i like different visions or sounds in this case, and he's no exception. Lord of The Rings is like my favorite score, Jackson or not get this guy something to do in that universe.

8. John Powell

Composer | How to Train Your Dragon 2

John Powell was born on September 18, 1963 in London, England, UK. He is a composer, known for How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014), Happy Feet (2006) and Shrek (2001). He was previously married to Melinda Lerner.

Quite a good composer. All the movies he's done wouldn't be the same without him I don't think. He's just great. If you haven't listened to any if his stuff your missing out.

9. Hans Zimmer

Composer | Gladiator

German-born composer Hans Zimmer is recognized as one of Hollywood's most innovative musical talents. He featured in the music video for The Buggles' single "Video Killed the Radio Star", which became a worldwide hit and helped usher in a new era of global entertainment as the first music video to ...

Not likely. But If he somehow got picked to compose I would have zero complaints.

10. Michael Fassbender

She's extremely talented. I'm thinking they're going to have a young face In these movies. Because she starred In Super 8 which was directed by JJ. Abrams, she'll be one of the first one to be considered. I really hope she's In it cause like I said she's a really good actress to be as young as she Is.
