This is a list of directors who could make an awesome movie for Disney/Marvel. My picks are based around how talented these people are, and how likely it is that Marvel would hire them to do one of their films.

1. Phil Lord

Writer | The Lego Movie

Philip A. Lord is an American filmmaker, producer and writer who collaborates with Christopher Miller. They both worked on Clone High, a cult classic animated sci-fi teen comedy show, The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street, 22 Jump Street and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Into the Spider-Verse is ...

Phil Lord & Chris Miller are very good at visual comedy, and have great potential to create an extremely fun movie.

2. Christopher Miller

Writer | The Lego Movie

Christopher Miller is an American filmmaker, producer and writer who collaborates with Philip A. Lord. They both worked on Clone High, a cult classic animated sci-fi teen comedy show, The Lego Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, 21 Jump Street, 22 Jump Street and Spider-Man: Into the ...

3. Neil Marshall

Director | Dog Soldiers

Neil Marshall was born on May 25, 1970 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, UK. He is a producer and director, known for Dog Soldiers (2002), The Descent (2005) and Doomsday (2008). He was previously married to Axelle Carolyn.

Marshall would be perfect for a lot of Marvel properties, but I think his style of filmmaking would work best on a character like Namor.

4. Dean Parisot

Director | Galaxy Quest

Dean Parisot is known for Galaxy Quest (1999), RED 2 (2013) and Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020). He was previously married to Sally Menke.

Very underrated director, he was one of my picks to replace Edgar Wright when he dropped out of Ant-Man.

5. Cary Joji Fukunaga

Producer | Beasts of No Nation

Cary Joji Fukunaga is a Japanese-American film director, screenwriter, cinematographer and producer from Oakland, California who is known for directing the James Bond film No Time to Die, Kofi, Beasts of No Nation, Jane Eyre and Sin Nombre. He co-wrote the 2017 film adaptation of the Stephen King ...

Disney/Marvel needs to get this guy quick before someone like Warner Bros. does, because he's a very good filmmaker, and I know that he would elevate any Marvel property to greatness.

6. Brad Bird

Writer | The Incredibles

Phillip Bradley "Brad" Bird is an American director, screenwriter, animator, producer and occasional voice actor, known for both animated and live-action films. Bird was born in Kalispell, Montana, the youngest of four children of Marjorie A. (née Cross) and Philip Cullen Bird. His father worked in...

Bird has Disney connections, so he could be easy to get. If he were to do a movie it would be awesome no matter what property it is.

7. Gareth Evans

Writer | Serbuan maut

Welsh born writer/director, in 2003 directed a short film "Samurai Monogatari" telling the tale of a Samurai waiting to be executed. The short was in Japanese language and starred students from Tokyo who were studying at Cardiff University at the time.

In 2003 he also graduated with an MA in ...

Super talented director, he would be perfect for The Punisher. Best of all he would be an easy guy for them to get.

8. Alex Proyas

Director | Dark City

Alex Proyas has moved effortlessly between helming TV commercials and music videos to feature films. Born to Greek parents in Egypt, Proyas relocated to Australia with his family when he was three years old. He began making films at age ten and went on to attend the Australian Film Television and ...

One of my favorite visual directors. He has a great style that would work for many different characters.

9. Gore Verbinski

Director | Rango

Gore Verbinski, one of American cinema's most inventive directors who was a punk-rock guitarist as a teenager and had to sell his guitar to buy his first camera, is now the director of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006) which made the industry record for highest opening weekend of ...

With his big budget experience, and Disney connections I would be surprised if he was never asked to do either a Marvel, and or Star Wars movie.

10. Fede Alvarez

Writer | Don't Breathe

Fede Alvarez was born on February 9, 1978 in Montevideo, Uruguay. He is a writer and producer, known for Don't Breathe (2016), Evil Dead (2013) and The Girl in the Spider's Web (2018).

He was in talks to direct Doctor Strange, but that never fell through. I would love to see him do something Ghost Rider related for Marvel.
