67 Metascore

Director: Ridley Scott | Stars: Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix, Connie Nielsen, Oliver Reed

Votes: 1,621,321 | Gross: $187.71M

Gladiator 2: The Glory of Rome

'Gladiator' was an amazing piece of filmmaking that had everything we could hope for in a movie. The action, dialogue, plot, and soundtrackall worked so well together. Unfortunately, it's really hard to make a second movie when both the protagonist and antagonist are dead. Even so, a second Gladiator movie would completely rock our socks off. In the original idea for the sequel, Maximus (Russell Crowe) is revived by the godsand becomes an immortal warrior throughout history. Luckily, that version was scrapped. Instead, I propose 'Gladiator 2: The Glory of Rome.' The sequel wouldfollow the story of Juba (Djimon Hounsou) as he strives to surpass Maximus and become the most famous Gladiator of all time.

2. The Incredibles (2004)

PG | 115 min | Animation, Action, Adventure

90 Metascore

Director: Brad Bird | Stars: Craig T. Nelson, Samuel L. Jackson, Holly Hunter, Jason Lee

Votes: 809,298 | Gross: $261.44M

The Incredibles 2: Return of the Supers Pixar has made some of the best animated films of all time, but 'The Incredibles' stands out as the most amusing movie of the bunch. By the end of the original, we've justbeen introduced to an interesting world of heroes and villains, and we're not ready to leave it alone. This movie deserves a sequel, but writer/director Brad Bird refuses to do the movie unless it's done right. In 'The Incredibles 2: Return of the Supers,' a new generation of superheroes should emerge. Criminals and villains start to be easily defeated, sothe supers become cocky and arrogant. However, a new supervillain emerges that unites the baddies, and the supers must learn to work together again before it's too late.

3. True Lies (1994)

R | 141 min | Action, Comedy, Thriller

63 Metascore

A fearless, globe-trotting, terrorist-battling secret agent has his life turned upside down when he discovers his wife might be having an affair with a used-car salesman while terrorists smuggle nuclear war heads into the United States.

Director: James Cameron | Stars: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jamie Lee Curtis, Tom Arnold, Bill Paxton

Votes: 281,130 | Gross: $146.28M

True Lies 2: False Truths It's hard to admit, but Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the best actors for comedic action movies. 'True Lies' was an entertaining movie that had plenty of over-the-top action, but it also kept you laughing along the way. With an older and wiser Arnold returning to acting, a sequel has the potential to be hilarious. 'True Lies 2: False Truths' would focus on the lives of Harry (Schwarzenegger) and Helen (Jamie Lee Curtis), as they try to get used to normal life after retiring from the spy game. After a terrorist tries to assassinate them, Harry and Helen are dragged back into one last adventure. You can even throw in a twist that the terrorist was actually working for the government.

4. Unbreakable (2000)

PG-13 | 106 min | Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi

62 Metascore

A man learns something extraordinary about himself after a devastating accident.

Director: M. Night Shyamalan | Stars: Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, Robin Wright, Spencer Treat Clark

Votes: 442,090 | Gross: $95.01M

Unbreakable 2: Shards of Glass 'Unbreakable' took a long time to get around the big reveal at the end of the movie, but the film was a masterpiece. The end of the movie tries to wrap things up, but we're left wanting more. The only problem is that director M. Night Shyamalan seems to have lost his touch, but we can still hope. With Mr. Glass (Samuel L. Jackson) likely headed to an insane asylum at the end of the first movie, 'Unbreakable 2: Shards of Glass' starts off with David (Bruce Willis) living as a real-life superhero. It's not long before he starts getting strange messages thatwarn him of impending disasters. While trying to prevent the disasters, he encounters another man with the same power of invincibility who was turneddown the path of evil by Mr. Glass.

5. The Iron Giant (1999)

PG | 86 min | Animation, Action, Adventure

85 Metascore

A young boy befriends a giant robot from outer space that a paranoid government agent wants to destroy.

Director: Brad Bird | Stars: Eli Marienthal, Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Aniston, Vin Diesel

Votes: 227,660 | Gross: $23.16M

The Iron Giant 2: Giant Metal Men It's surprising how so many people have never even heard of 'The Iron Giant,' even though it's one of the best animated films ever made. The style of animation was great, andthe voice acting was superb. A sequel is more than justified, especially with the way that the first movie ends. In 'The Iron Giant 2: Giant Metal Men', the giant (voiced by Vin Diesel) is living a peaceful life along side humans until his fellow robots return and invade Earth. After easily defeating the military, the government turns to the giant for help, but he is conflicted. In the end, a teenage Hogarth (Eli Marienthal) convinces him to stop the other robots.

6. Jumper (2008)

PG-13 | 88 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi

35 Metascore

Director: Doug Liman | Stars: Hayden Christensen, Samuel L. Jackson, Jamie Bell, Rachel Bilson

Votes: 323,714 | Gross: $80.17M

Jumper 2: Reflex With the way that 'Jumper' ended, it was obvious that the director intended to make a sequel. This under rated action movie has some really cool ideas and decent special effects, and this cliffhanger ending really needs to be resolved. Since Jumper was originally a trilogy of books, some of the story line can carry over. In 'Jumper 2: Reflex,' David (Hayden Christensen) and Millie (Rachel Bilson) have made their escape, but they're forced to keep moving. David eventually decides to stop running and settle down, but it's not long before he's captured by his mother (Diane Lane). Millie becomes depressed and angry, but thenshe learns that she also has the ability to jump. She locates another jumper and they set out to rescue him from the Paladins.

7. Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)

PG-13 | 103 min | Comedy

61 Metascore

Director: John Hughes | Stars: Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck, Mia Sara, Jeffrey Jones

Votes: 386,697 | Gross: $70.14M

Ferris Bueller's Day Off 2: Early Retirement Honda showed us that a Ferris Bueller sequel was a good idea with their commercial starring Matthew Broderick. The antics of 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' are just asking to be re-imagined with an older Bueller trying to avoid a day of work. 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off 2: Early Retirement' would bring the whole gang back together for another crazy adventure while Bueller's boss tries to nail him for calling in sick. While the basic premise of thefilm isn't anything new, there could be a lot of greatgags that make fun of their old age. This film basically writes itself.

8. Blade Runner (1982)

R | 117 min | Action, Drama, Sci-Fi

84 Metascore

A blade runner must pursue and terminate four replicants who stole a ship in space and have returned to Earth to find their creator.

Director: Ridley Scott | Stars: Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, Edward James Olmos

Votes: 823,500 | Gross: $32.87M

Blade Runner 2: Replica The original 'Blade Runner' came out at a time when humanoid robots were nothing but science fiction. A sequel would havea lot of impact in today's world, with robots and artificial intelligence rapidly improving. The aging special effects of the first film could also be outdone by modern CGI. In 'Blade Runner 2: Replica,' anolder Deckard (Harrison Ford) is drawn back to the city aftera replicant of himself has appeared and is assuming his identity. He returns to find out that duplicates are appearing everywhere, and chaos has resulted from the confusion. The city draws close to an all-out conflict as Deckard races to discover who is creating the replicants.

9. School of Rock (2003)

PG-13 | 109 min | Comedy, Music

82 Metascore

After being kicked out of his rock band, Dewey Finn becomes a substitute teacher of an uptight elementary private school, only to try and turn his class into a rock band.

Director: Richard Linklater | Stars: Jack Black, Mike White, Joan Cusack, Adam Pascal

Votes: 331,019 | Gross: $81.26M

School of Rock 2: Rock On Jack Black can be pretty hit or miss, but in 'School of Rock,' he was just a lot of good, clean fun. Playing the lovable loser Dewey, he turned a young group of school children into rock stars. There's a ton of opportunity for a sequel, wherethe kids are grown up and start to rebel. In 'School of Rock 2: Rock On,' the now teen aged band members break off from the band. After bumming around for a few weeks, Dewey learns to enjoy just playing and teaching musicto the young students at his music school. Dewey then forms up the previous band members to perform one last farewell show. Fill in the gaps with Jack Black's amusing antics, and you have a great sequel.

10. Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003)

PG-13 | 138 min | Action, Adventure, Drama

81 Metascore

During the Napoleonic Wars, a brash British captain pushes his ship and crew to their limits in pursuit of a formidable French war vessel around South America.

Director: Peter Weir | Stars: Russell Crowe, Paul Bettany, Billy Boyd, James D'Arcy

Votes: 238,056 | Gross: $93.93M

Master and Commander 2: Rising Tide A lot of people skipped over 'Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World', but it was actually a great movie. This is an awesome representation of naval combat in colonial times that's fun to watch and historically accurate. That kind of film is rare, so a sequel would be a nice surprise. For the second film, Jack Aubrey (Russell Crowe) would be called back into action to command a British warship in a massive confrontation with the French. Aubrey has earned a special commendation for hisprevious performance, but he's underestimated by the other captains and his crew. 'Master and Commander 2: Rising Tide' would center around Aubrey's struggle to impress his crew and make animpact on the battle.
