the best finale of any tv show ever

probably tied with six feet under, it's just that good

the final montage of the show is one of the most magical, awe-inspiring, jaw-dropping moments in its entirety

an instant classic, will definitely make you miss the show

this episode had everything the show's classic run offered: humour, heart, jerk bender, raw emotion, classic one-liner zoidberg topped off with a great resolution to fry and leela's relationship, disturbing sequences of fry jumping off a building continuously and a simply beautiful montage

10/10

another episode similar to 'luck of the fryrish' or 'jurassic bark' in that it brings out this rare emotion that is barely ever seen in any animation

futurama is the only cartoon that is perfectly capable of handling this to a pleasant degree

what a splendid episode, gave a great finale to fry's relationship with his mother

another reason to miss futurama

9.9/10

i am a big fan of lrrr and this episode brought out a great deal of continuity with his son jrrr (who was introduced in problem with popplers) to an amazing extent

i love the subtle e.t. references and the overall story

a lovely fry episode, but bender definitely stood out well with the ongoing joke of pretending fry arrived back on earth all along

9.7/10

a spectacular emotional episode with an unexpected plot twist at the end

nice seeing the near-death star back again from 'a clone of my own'

great episode, great humour, great emotion and characterisations

9.6/10

Votes: 1,846

poor, dear old calculon. getting his goal in life upon resurrection and then getting killed off again

but what a way to end such a funny character

great episode, made me kinda sad in the end, leela was at her very best though with that speech she gave to calculon that changed him

9.5/10

Episode: Stench and Stenchibility (2013)

Votes: 2,158

zoidberg finally found happiness!

beautiful episode with a dark, twisted and flat-out hilarious subplot from bender, who was at his very finest

but i'm happy for zoidberg. being treated like dirt all these years by his colleagues only to find a love that will keep him around <3

9.4/10

a fine episode with a very different approach to the climax

it's a wonderful friendship episode between fry and bender, with bender having a little bit of heart in him at the end

Votes: 2,017

a great episode that touches on the future and how president nixon will screw everything up if everyone in the present votes for him in the re-election

nice nod to the "birth certificate" incident involving obama too

9.3/10

11. Futurama (1999– )
Episode: Assie Come Home (2013)

Bender searches the entire universe for his shiny metal rear end.

Director: Raymie Muzquiz | Stars: Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Tress MacNeille

Votes: 1,837

this... this episode is odd in a good way

especially the end sequence, which could be one of the best of season 7 and weirdest of the entire series. just that last shot of an awe-struck sailor (as well as the scene of bender's ass returning to him) is incredible

9.3/10

12. Futurama (1999– )

Bender fathers a child with the office beverage machine.

Votes: 2,202

a great season opener and bender episode, which touches on subjects such as parenting, a subject which bender is not very familiar with

but it handles well. and i really like the emotion at the end, where ben undergoes the memory replacement. so sweet and heart-breaking at the same time

great stuff

9.2/10

Episode: The Thief of Baghead (2012)

Director: Edmund Fong | Stars: Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Tress MacNeille

Votes: 1,904

this one was very good and very weird, especially the ego monster that consumes everyone's souls

but nonetheless, a very nice episode with good humour and a shocking twist in the end that involves calculon giving his life to be the best actor

9.2/10

14. Futurama (1999– )
Episode: The Six Million Dollar Mon (2012)

solid stuff

9.1/10

Episode: Naturama (2012)

A humorous mockumentary about nature.

Director: Crystal Chesney | Stars: Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Tress MacNeille

Votes: 2,041

the salmon and the tortoise segments were the best, both being really funny and enjoyable

the seal segment was pretty good, but not the best to finish the episode on

9.1/10

Episode: Fry and Leela's Big Fling (2013)

Votes: 1,948

this was a good episode, but it felt somewhat different

the atmosphere of the episode was rather different to what you'd expect in another futurama episode, but it was still a great taste of something new and it worked just fine

cute episode

9/10

17. Futurama (1999– )
Episode: Viva Mars Vegas (2012)

TV-14 | 22 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

The Planet Express crew goes gambling in Mars Vegas where they risk far more than losing their chips.

Director: Frank Marino | Stars: Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Tress MacNeille

Votes: 1,825

a solid effort with great humour and characterisations on behalf of zoidberg, the mafia and amy

zoidberg episodes can be rather bland but this was a decent step up from his typical others like 'lobstertainment' and 'freedom day', both which were disappointing in some ways

8.9/10

18. Futurama (1999– )
Episode: 2-D Blacktop (2013)

Director: Raymie Muzquiz | Stars: Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Tress MacNeille

Votes: 1,921

a very different but refreshingly exciting way to open the second run of season 7

this episode's grade derives less from the story but more from the visual aspects of things as well as experimenting with innovative ways to show this visual experience, like with the whole 2d storyline near the end

farnsworth was at his utmost craziest, and it was quite enjoyable

8.9/10

19. Futurama (1999– )
Episode: Leela and the Genestalk (2013)

TV-14 | 22 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

After a rare condition causes Leela to grow tentacles, she stumbles upon a secret genetic engineering facility.

Director: Lance Kramer | Stars: Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Tress MacNeille

Votes: 1,800

good episode, with nice characterisation and continuity

back in season 6 i got pretty worried about the way they took leela's character, but i saw a major change in season 7 where she became enjoyable as a character again and this episode shows it

good to see mom back again before the show ended too for the last time

8.8/10

20. Futurama (1999– )
Episode: 31st Century Fox (2012)

TV-14 | 22 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

When Bender joins the local Fox Hunting Club ethical questions about killing things arise.

Director: Edmund Fong | Stars: Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Tress MacNeille

Votes: 1,847

not much to say about this one, except that it had a nice cameo and the bender/fox storyline was pretty good, but i didn't enjoy it as much as i wanted to

this doesn't mean it was bad cos it was still a good episode, it just lacked enjoyability because it seemed to drag on a bit near the end

leela was pretty good here though

8.7/10

21. Futurama (1999– )
Episode: Zapp Dingbat (2012)

TV-14 | 22 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

Leela's parents break up and while Leela's mother starts dating, her father picks up his youthful antics.

Director: Frank Marino | Stars: Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Tress MacNeille

Votes: 1,878

a good brannigan episode and good comeback for leela's parents

it wasn't very memorable, but from what i remember it had a few decent laughs and it was enjoyable to some extent

8.7/10

22. Futurama (1999– )
Episode: Forty Percent Leadbelly (2013)

TV-14 | 22 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

Bender finally fulfills his dream of becoming a folk singer by creating a copy of a famous guitar, but then something goes terribly wrong.

Director: Stephen Sandoval | Stars: Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Tress MacNeille

Votes: 1,913

a decent effort from a very creative writer, who i felt could've expanded his ideas more broadly with this one

i didn't like the ending at all, but the rest of the episode was pretty fine

the folk songs were catchy

8.6/10

23. Futurama (1999– )
Episode: Free Will Hunting (2012)

TV-14 | 22 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

After Bender realizes he has no power over the decisions he makes, he goes on a soul searching trip to liberate himself from the shackles of his pre-deterministic operation system.

Director: Raymie Muzquiz | Stars: Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Tress MacNeille

Votes: 1,861

everything was rather strange in this episode, as there seemed to be too much going on

one minute i thought the whole episode would revolve around bender embracing that faith explored in the episode, then it turns to something else and then finishes very abruptly and oddly

but nonetheless it's still a fine effort, just not the best

8.5/10

24. Futurama (1999– )
Episode: A Farewell to Arms (2012)

TV-14 | 22 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

Earth gets evacuated after a prediction of the end of the planet.

Directors: Raymie Muzquiz, Peter Avanzino | Stars: Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Tress MacNeille

Votes: 1,978

didn't enjoy it as much and almost found it to be rather dragging on a bit, but still was a pretty decent episode with some good humour and memorable scenes

but bots and the bees really knocked it out of place for the better season opener of season 7 quite a bit

8.5/10

25. Futurama (1999– )
Episode: The Butterjunk Effect (2012)

TV-14 | 22 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

Leela and Amy get involved in the tough world of the butterfly derby sport.

Director: Crystal Chesney | Stars: Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Tress MacNeille

Votes: 1,916

envisioning leela and amy as they were portrayed in this episode in every futurama episode would be horrifying

i don't think the whole nectar (steroids) thing worked for me, the characters were just incredibly unlikeable (even though that's kinda the point)

other than that, the episode was quite nice and finished with a good climax of fry becoming a butterfly, although the final sequence was so abrupt, it just didn't really make sense at all

8.4/10

26. Futurama (1999– )
Episode: Saturday Morning Fun Pit (2013)

TV-14 | 22 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

President Nixon is watching his favorite TV shows, which spoof three actual cartoon series using Futurama characters.

Director: Crystal Chesney | Stars: Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Tress MacNeille

Votes: 2,138

now i was a fan of saturday morning shows as a kid but

i didn't really like the scooby doo segment because it felt rushed, it lacked decent humour and i feel like the characters were miscast. it was alright but nothing too memorable at all and a pretty poor effort for a spoof

the strawberry shortcake was a mild step up from the first segment, with good knocks at that god awful product placement in those cutesy tootsy harmless kids shows, but i still felt like it needed more. it was a good spoof though, no doubt

but now g.i. zapp was amazing. a wonderful spoof of censoring cartoons like what nixon did. if this was a real cartoon, i'd watch it all day, it was absolute perfection

it's a shame though. if at least one of the first two segments were nearly as good as g.i. zapp, the grade would be higher and i would classify it as a great episode, but unfortunately it's only a good episode

7.9/10
